  • Patent number: 6656682
Abstract: A nucleic acid-immobilized substrate which comprises a carrier comprising a base material and a compound having a carbodiimide group or an isocyanate group carried by the base material, and the same kind or different kinds of nucleic acids immobilized in the form of dots through the carbodiimide group or the isocyanate group at a plurality of sites on the carrier.

  • Publication number: 20030124711
Abstract: The present invention provide: a bioreactor carrier having a suitable water swelling property, a suitable degree of volumetric swelling and a suitable specific gravity as well as exhibiting high chemical resistance to be suitable for use in the microbial treatment of organic waste water having a high chemical content; processes for efficiently producing the bioreactor carrier; and use of the bioreactor carrier. More specifically, there are provided: a chemical-resistant bioreactor carrier comprising (A) a specific water-swellable thermoplastic resin and (B) a specific resin compatible with the water-swellable thermoplastic resin (A), and as the case may be, (C) an inorganic filler, characterized in that the degree of volumetric swelling of the carrier is controlled to within a range of 120 to 3,000% and that the specific gravity of the carrier on swelling in water is controlled to within a range of 0.98 to 2.

  • Publication number: 20020141319
Abstract: A phase corrector unit has first to fifth regions on its plane on which a laser beam is incident. The second and fourth regions are formed of protrusions each having height d of approximately 730 nm, and the thickness of a quartz glass where the protrusions are formed is 0.5 mm. The second region is larger in the width than the fourth region. The width of the third region is larger than the width (diameter) of the fifth region, and the width in the direction of the side of the first region is larger than the width of the third region. An optical pickup device includes the phase corrector unit placed between a semiconductor laser and an objective lens. Thus, the optical pickup device emits a small-diameter laser beam without seriously deteriorating the efficiency of use of the laser beam.

  • Publication number: 20010055762
Abstract: A base material having an isocyanate group or a carbodiimide group on its surface is used as a carrier for immobilizing a biologically active substance to analyze a first biologically active substance or a second biologically active substance in a sample, wherein the first substance immobilized on the carrier is reacted with the second substance capable of specifically binding to the first substance, and the second substance indirectly bound to the carrier by the bond between it and the first substance or the second substance that is bound to the carrier is detected.

  • Patent number: 5162915
Abstract: In a video system having a video camera unit for converting an image to electrical signals and a video recorder unit for recording the video signals from the video camera unit on a recording medium and reproducing the video signals recorded on the recording medium, a mode of the system is selectively set to a first mode in which the video recorder unit can record the video signals from the video camera unit on the recording medium or a second mode in which the video recorder unit can reproduce the video signals recorded on the recording medium, and a mode display displays different colors according to the set mode. An operation key performs a first function for controlling operations of the video camera unit in the first mode and a second function for controlling operations of the video recorder unit in the second mode. A display on a function display portion of the camera disposed adjacent to the operation key has a color corresponding to a display color of the mode display.
