Abstract: A printing system includes an image formation apparatus for executing a print job of forming an image that has been received, and upon completing the print job, transmitting a notification of completion to the print job transmission source, and a client terminal for transmitting, to the image formation apparatus, the image formation print job based on a request from a user, and upon receiving the completion notification, alerting the user that the requested print job has been completed. When the number of print job transmission to the image formation apparatus does not match the number of completion notification receptions from the image formation apparatus, the client terminal prevents alerting the user of completion of the print job. When there is a match, the client terminal alerts the user of the print job completion, which had been prevented.

Abstract: Broadcasting waves transmitted from a broadcasting device include operation control information for operating peripheral devices on a receiver side in accordance with the contents of a broadcast program in addition to broadcast data about said broadcast program. The receiver outputs the broadcast data to a display device, and transmits an operation command signal dependent on the operation control information to the peripheral devices to operate the peripheral devices in accordance with the contents of the broadcast program. As a result, an air conditioner raises or lowers room temperature and an illumination device blinks according to the progress of the program.

In this method, a print request and ASP certification data for accessing an application server are transmitted from a client computer to a printer of a print shop connected to the client computer and the service provider via a network capable of providing an application service, such as the Internet available for unspecified users. The printer is operable to access the application server directly according to the ASP certification data so as to receive print data from the application server and output the print data. The present invention can solve problems caused when the client computer issues a print request to the printer of the print shop via the network, so that the requirement for the client computer to acquire application software from the application server is eliminated to provide a reduced time-period of a printing operation.
