  • Publication number: 20120045240
Abstract: A fixing device including a fixing rotational body and fixing images on sheets of various sizes, comprising: a main excitation coil heating the rotational body by electromagnetic induction and having an effective heating length L1 corresponding to a maximum-size sheet; an auxiliary excitation coil having an effective heating length L2 shorter than L1; a high-frequency power source supplying power to the main and auxiliary coils; and a switch selectively connecting the main or auxiliary coils to the power source, wherein the main coil is positioned along an outer circumferential surface of the rotational body, the auxiliary coil is positioned farther from the rotational body than the main coil is and layered on a central portion of the main coil in a longitudinal direction thereof, and L2 satisfies the following relationship: L2?L1ยท?2/?1, where ?1 and ?2 are thermal conversion efficiencies of the main and auxiliary coils, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20110287112
Abstract: A prostate cancer progression inhibitor comprises 4-(4-cyano-2-{[2-(4-fluoro-1-naphthyl)propanoyl]amino}phenyl)butyric acid, a salt thereof, a solvate thereof, or a prodrug thereof. 4-(4-Cyano-2-{[2-(4-fluoro-1-naphthyl)propanoyl]amino}phenyl)butyric acid is useful as a prostate cancer progression inhibitor because this butyric acid has, for example, a growth inhibiting effect and a hormone responsiveness recovering effect on prostate cancer that has acquired hormone resistance.

  • Publication number: 20110229170
Abstract: An excitation coil positioned along an axial direction of a fixing rotational body having a heat generating layer causes the heat generating layer to generate heat by electromagnetic induction. Magnetic flux shielding members positioned outside the excitation coil in a radial direction of the fixing rotational body cover at least one end of a maximum sheet passing region. A controller moves the magnetic flux shielding members along the excitation coil, and when a fed sheet has a width smaller than a width of the maximum sheet passing region, a center hole of the excitation coil is more widely covered. In a plan view, a circumference of each of the magnetic flux shielding members partially and obliquely crosses with the center hole in the axial direction of the fixing rotational body.

  • Patent number: 7900961
Abstract: An airbag has a front panel positioned on an occupant side when inflated, and a rear panel of substantially the same shape as the front panel positioned on an opposite side to the occupant. Furthermore, an inflation restricting section, which restricts the inflated shape of the airbag, is formed by drawing together and fixing a portion of the front panel. When the airbag is inflated, the occupant side of the airbag is pulled inwards, thereby forming a cavity on the occupant side.

  • Patent number: 7853190
Abstract: A conveying device includes a cylindrical first roller, a cylindrical second roller that has a surface hardness higher than a surface hardness of the first roller, and a belt placed in a state surrounding either the first roller or the second roller. the conveying device moves an object to be conveyed by bringing the first roller and the second roller in pressure contact with each other via the belt and making the object pass through a nip portion formed of the belt and the first roller or the second roller facing the belt. A length in a lengthwise direction of an outer peripheral portion of the first roller is shorter than a length in a lengthwise direction of an outer peripheral portion of the second roller.

  • Publication number: 20100102542
Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To cushion impact acting on an occupant who is not in a regular position. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] When an abnormality occurs, an airbag device (1) inflates and expands in front of an occupant and absorbs an impact from the front of a vehicle. An airbag (2) to which gas from an inflator is supplied in an abnormality is provided with a vertical recess (2c) facing the head (Ph) of the occupant (P). The recess (2c) is located at the center, in the right and left direction of the vehicle, of an occupant restriction surface (2b) formed at a position facing the occupant (P) sitting on the seat during inflation and expansion. At least one fixed vent (2ea, 2eb) and at least one variable vent (2fan, 2fb) are provided at each of opposite sidewalls (2da, 2db). The fixed vent (2ea, 2eb) has an invariant opening area, and the variable vents (2fan 2fb) has an opening area variable depending on the sitting position of the occupant (P) during expansion.
