Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing the layout of a window is provided. The apparatus includes a display unit that displays the window on a screen; the screen is divided into a plurality of display areas; a pointer-position-checking unit that checks the coordinate position of a pointer moved by a user and determines the one display area corresponding to the position of the checked pointer; and a window-size-adjusting unit that moves the window to the one display area where the pointer is positioned and adjusts the size of the window in proportion to the size of the one display area.

Abstract: The present invention is provided to manufacture a low magnetic loss metal tape with biaxial texture and a manufacturing method thereof. The low magnetic loss metal tape has a non-magnetic metal layer deposited on a nickel layer in the form of stack. The low magnetic loss metal tape with biaxial texture is manufactured by the following steps. A biaxially textured nickel layer is formed on a surface of cathode rotating in an electroplating bath including a cathode with single crystalline structure or similary high orientation, and an anode made of high purity nickel. The nickel layer formed on the cathode is then washed in a water bath. Subsequently, a non-magnetic metal layer is formed on the washed nickel layer rotating in a plating bath with a non-magnetic metal solution. The metal tape is finally manufactured by delaminating and winding the nickel/non-magnetic metal layers.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing a parental level of an optical disc can allow a user to set a parental level of a data stream recorded and stored on a rewritable optical disc or write-once optical disc, and can record and manage the set parental level as navigation information such as for the optical discs. The method and apparatus allow the user to conveniently set or change the parental level of the data stream, refer to the parental level recorded and managed therefore, and carry out a parental locking operation such that children or teenagers cannot arbitrarily reproduce a data stream of an adult program. Further, a parental grade code, a supplemental parental grade code or if the parental code was generated using parental management information previously supplied by the user can be determined. Accordingly, an authorized user can determine whether the previous set grade code is changed illegally.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a biaxially textured pure metal or alloy layer deposited by electroplating process on the surface of a single-crystalline or quasi-single-crystalline metal substrate, and a method for manufacturing the biaxially textured pure metal or alloy layer. Specifically, the biaxially textured pure metal or alloy layer is deposited by electroplating process on the surface of a pure metal or alloy substrate having single-crystalline or quasi-single-crystalline orientation. The biaxially textured pure metal or alloy layer has a misorientation on the c-axis of 4° or less and a misorientation on the plane formed by the a-axis and b-axis of 5.2° or less in which the misorientation on the c-axis is determined by a Full Width at Half Maximum of peaks on the &thgr;-rocking curve and the misorientation on the plane formed by the a-axis and b-axis is determined by a Full Width at Half Maximum of peaks on the &PHgr;-scan.

Abstract: A high-density optical disc such as a high density-digital versatile disc (HD-DVD) or Blu-ray disc, and a method for reproducing or recording data of the high-density optical disc. The high-density optical disc includes a lead-in area, a data area and a lead-out area. The lead-in area has control information. A minimum mark or space length of the control information recorded in the lead-in area is longer than that of data recorded in the data area. The control information of the lead-in area is copied to the lead-out area. On the basis of the data reproduction or recording method, an optical disc device can correctly read and confirm the control information from the high-density optical disc, minimize the interference between a mark and space in high-density recording data, reduce the effects of scratches or dust on the disc, and efficiently prevent an erroneous data reproduction or recording operation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for providing and obtaining product information through a broadcast signal. In this present invention, information identifying a product item, which is in a scene to be presented from a broadcast signal, and address information of a web site providing detailed shopping information for the product item are provided together with a broadcast signal, then a signal receiving terminal stores the provided information, displays the stored information to a viewer to select one product item while or after watching an interesting broadcast program, and transmits a web site address associated with a selected product item to a network. As a result, detailed information for the selected item is acquired from a server addressed by the web site address.
