  • Publication number: 20050123505
Abstract: A biodegradable hyaluronic acid derivative comprising a modified hyaluronic acid repeating unit represented by the formula (HA)-[O(C?O)NH-M]p, wherein HA is a unit including N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and D-glucuronic acid, M is a modifying moiety containing a C2-16 hydrocarbyl group or a prepolymer, and p is an integer of 1 to 4. The biodegradable hyaluronic acid derivative when dissolved in a hydrophilic medium can form micelles and can be used to entrap a pharmaceutically active or bioactive molecule.

  • Publication number: 20050048697
Abstract: A self-assembled nanometer conductive bump and a method for fabricating the bump. In the method, a multiplicity of carbon nanotubes that are coated at two ends with chemically functional groups is first provided. A substrate that is equipped with at least one bond pad on a surface is then positioned juxtaposed to the carbon nanotubes for forming a bond between the carbon nanotubes and the metal pads facilitated by a chemical affinity existed between the functional groups and the metal pad.

  • Publication number: 20050019303
Abstract: A biodegradable copolymer with a core block comprising bioresorbable hydrophobic polyester segment and from 3 to 10 shell blocks comprising hydrophilic polyethylene glycol segment. The hydrophobic polyester segment and each of the hydrophilic polyethylene glycol segments are linked by a urethane linkage. A polymeric micelle composition containing the copolymer is also provided. The copolymer forms micelles when the concentration of the copolymer in a dispersing medium reaches or exceeds the critical micelle concentration. The micelles possess good drug and bioactive agent delivery characteristics and are suitable for use in drug delivery or cosmetic applications.

  • Patent number: 4864087
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an improved burglar alarm which is mounted on a base having a concaved space for receiving therein a ring-like magnet with an elongated resilient arm, vibratable as a result of external force, and a magnetic switch tube actuated in response to the vibrating magnet which changes either the magnet polarity or intensity of the magnetic force thereof so to produce signals to actuate a connected alarm apparatus.
