Each of the fans 2-4 is configured such that in operation, air is flown from the rear side of said fan to the through holes 6 of the mattress 5, then spread through the mattress body 5c and output from the sleeping surface (i.e., the top surface) 5b of the mattress 5, as illustrated by arrows shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. The air can be room temperature air, cooling air or heating air.

In one embodiment shown in FIG. 7, the control system 150 includes a control box 10, a power supply 9, a power cord 8, a plurality of connecting cables 13-14, LED lights 15 and USB ports 16. The control box 10 is powered by the power supply 9 which is in turn connected to any power source via the power cord 8. The fans 2-4, the back lifting motor member 26 and the leg lifting motor member 32 are connected to the control box 10 via the plurality of connection cables (e.g., the connecting cable 14). In this way, the user can adjust the bed position and air flow strength of each cooling fan system. Alternatively, LED lights 15 can be employed to indicate the working conditions of the fans 2-4, the back lifting motor 26 and the leg lifting motor 32. For example, when the cooling fan system 4 is working, one of the LED lights 15 is turned on and emits green light. The USB ports 16 are set for interfacing with the control box 10 by the user when needed.
