  • Patent number: 6145287
Abstract: The multiple pump apparatus includes first and second variable displacement closed circuit pumps. The multiple pump apparatus pressurizes fluid to be subsequently supplied to drive load devices. The first and second pumps each have fluid communication lines connected to load devices through flow control valves. Each of the pumps has a swashplate for varying its displacement. The swashplates are of the over-center type, enabling each pump to supply pressurized fluid in either direction, thus providing both forward and reverse function to the load devices. The first pump has its fluid communicating lines connected to fluid communicating lines between first and second two-position four-way flow control valves. The opposite side of the first flow control valve has fluid communicating lines connected to a load device which drives a harvesting mechanism, in this case a rotor motor.

  • Patent number: 6145289
Abstract: A mower for harvesting crop includes windrow forming housing where crop is discharged after being cut. A windrow grouper attachment includes a crop conveyor attached to the main frame of the mower by a vertically swingable support which is selectively disposable in a lowered working position where it intercepts crop exiting the windrow forming housing and transfers it side ways and in a raised non-use position wherein it permits crop exiting from the mower to be deposited into a windrow directly behind the mower. The vertically swingable support for the crop conveyor is mounted to a slide that is in turn mounted for shifting laterally on a transverse beam of the mower main frame. By selectively manipulating the conveyor among its working, non-use and shifted positions, it is possible to deposit three windrows alongside each other for being subsequently picked up together for processing by another machine, such as an ensilage harvester, for example.

  • Patent number: 6145294
Abstract: A purge system is disclosed for flushing liquid fuel and water from the combustion section of a gas turbine system as well as for providing continuous cooling of the nozzles. The gas turbine may operate on liquid fuel or gaseous fuel. When the turbine is switched to burn gaseous fuel, the liquid fuel remaining in the liquid fuel system is flushed by a liquid fuel purge system. Similarly, water in the water injection system is purged from nozzles in the combustion system by a water purge system. The purge system operates in conjunction with an air atomization system, but does not rely on an atomizing air compressor to boost the pressure of the purge air. Instead, the purge system utilizes pressurized air from the gas turbine compressor and directs the purge air to manifolds which distribute air to the atomizing air passages, liquid fuel nozzles, and water injection nozzles via purge valves and soft purge valves.

  • Patent number: 6145324
Abstract: An apparatus and method for making and harvesting ice. Gaseous refrigerant is directed from a suction accumulator to a compressor, then to a condenser wherein the gaseous refrigerant is condensed into a liquid and through an expansion valve which reduces the pressure of the liquid refrigerant, which is then directed into the ice making plates to evaporate the refrigerant to cool the plates while water from a water supply circuit is flowed over a cold outer surface of the ice making plates allowing ice to form. During a harvest cycle, gaseous refrigerant from the compressor is directed into the ice making plates to be condensed into a liquid in the ice making plates, warming the plates to release the ice. Liquid refrigerant from the plates is directed to harvest gas generation plate and water is flowed over an outer surface of the gas generation plate, warming the refrigerant to a gaseous state, while cooling the water in preparation for the next ice making cycle.

  • Patent number: 6145326
Abstract: The invention is a method and apparatus for cooling compressor oil in a refrigeration system by passing the oil through a heat exchanger cooled by evaporating refrigerant. The refrigerant is pumped into the heat exchanger by a liquid refrigerant pump. The use of the pump avoids the requirement of a mixing pipe with an internal venturi nozzle, while also providing oil-cooling that is relatively free of noise and disturbance to those in the vicinity of the refrigeration unit.

Abstract: A refrigerated showcase has a front opening through which a consumer can view and access foodstuffs on display. The foodstuffs are cooled by coolant air introduced through a slanted, perforated, interior panel located near a rear wall of the showcase. An air curtain directed downwardly at the front opening minimizes coolant air loss through the opening. Lips are applied and extended from edges of vertical sides of the access opening to reduce the loss of coolant air through the air curtain. Thus, relative flows of the coolant air and the air curtain are maintained inside the showcase.

Abstract: An air conditioner enables a user to input a desired monthly power cost for all electrical appliances, including the air conditioner. A microcomputer is able to calculate the accumulated power cost of operating the air conditioner for the month, as well as an expected power cost for operating all of the appliances. If the desired power cost for the month is below the expected power cost, the air conditioner is automatically operated in a power saving mode.

Abstract: In a method for the control of the switching on behavior of an air conditioning system having a condenser, an evaporator, an expansion device and a compressor, the stroke of which can be set via a valve, the compressor is driven by a drive via a clutch. The imminent or already accomplished engagement of the clutch is detected as an event by an electronic control system of the air conditioning system. In the method the valve for the control of the stroke of the compressor is actuated in dependence on the event by the control system in order to minimize the torque fluctuations transmitted to the drive.

Abstract: A heat recovery management system for transferring an image to a print media in a development system of the type having an intermediate belt. The system comprises a first station that receives an energy-transfer medium to heat the belt at a first position utilizing heat from the energy-transfer medium. The first station outputs the energy-transfer medium with a reduced heat content and a second station receives the reduced heat content energy-transfer medium from the first station. The second station absorbs heat from the belt at a second position after which the second station outputs heat enriched energy to the energy-transfer medium and circulates the heat enriched energy-transfer medium back to the first station.
