  • Patent number: 6244290
Abstract: A containment bag for installation over a fluid control valve is provided. The valve containment bag is configured to contain leaks emanating from fluid control valves connected in line between an associated first inlet pipe and a second outlet pipe. The inlet pipe and the valve form a first junction and the outlet pipe form a second junction which are to be housed, along with the valve itself, within said bag so that fluid leaking from the junctions leaks into the containment bag. The containment bag is formed of an impermeable fabric which encloses an internal volume sufficient to accommodate the control valve and the associated junctions. The impermeable fabric defines first and second openings between the internal volume and the external environment, the first opening has a diameter substantially equal to the outer diameter of the inlet pipe, and the second opening has a diameter substantially equal to an outer diameter of the outlet pipe.

  • Patent number: 6244295
Abstract: The invention relates to a check valve with a tubular valve housing in which a valve ball is received. To make a large flow cross section available and to prevent closure by the valve ball when the check valve is fully open, a perforated disk is press-fitted between longitudinally extending guide ribs of the valve housing and a circumferential wall of the valve housing there is an interstice as an outflow opening, which is not closed even the valve ball contacts the perforated disk. The valve housing is made by stamping, in which the guide ribs and a valve seat are made in one operation and are thereby aligned exactly with one another. In this way, a small radial play of the valve ball can be realized.

Abstract: The welding machine comprises within a frame (1), a horizontal heating plate (21), a first lower piece-holder (22), a second upper piece-holder (23), means (41) for displacing horizontally the heating plate (21), means (42) for displacing vertically (29) the heating plate (21), and means (26) for displacing vertically the second piece-holder (23). The heating plate (21) and its vertically actuating cylinder (42) constitute an assembly connected to a heating plate carrier (33) by indexing means (27) for adjusting the vertical position of the vertical displacement (29) of the heating plate (21). The first piece-holder (22) is a telescoping table with adjustable height and capable of being locked mounted on the frame (1). Thus the possibilities of adjusting and adapting the welding machine to the different sizes of pieces to be welded are increased.

  • Patent number: 6244321
Abstract: An automatic paper web connecting apparatus includes a pair of blocks arranged so as to be able to move relatively and be pressed against each other in the direction to cross a feed path for one paper web and a feed path for the other paper web, retaining mechanism for retaining the two paper webs on the respective opposite faces of their corresponding blocks by suction, a cutting mechanism for cutting a desired one of the paper webs, and a drive mechanism for relatively moving the blocks. The cutting mechanism includes a rotating body rockable between the two paper web feed paths on the upper-course side of the blocks, first and second knives fixed individually to the blocks, and a third knife fixed to the rotating body. The rotating body is rotated between a first rotational position in which the third knife faces the first knife and a second rotational position in which the third knife faces the second knife.

  • Patent number: 6244322
Abstract: The present invention relates to a laminating and adhesive transfer apparatus for use with a pair of removable feed rolls. The removable feed rolls carrying a supply of stock material to be unwound. The apparatus comprises a frame constructed and arranged to removably mount the feed rolls. A pair of nip rollers are rotatably mounted to the frame. The nip rollers define a nip area therebetween with a feed side and a discharge side. An actuating mechanism is constructed and arranged to affect nip roller rotation. The frame is constructed and arranged such that, when the feed rolls are removably mounted thereto, a master can be inserted between the feed rolls, the stock materials can then be unwound from each of feed rolls so as to be disposed on opposing sides of the master, and the master and the stock materials can thereafter be fed together into the feed side of the nip rollers.

  • Patent number: 6244325
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a modular roll-up partition assembly, such as a rolling protective shutter, implementing an improved mechanism for raising the partition in an emergency by disengaging a motor from a rolling shutter. The mechanism includes a cable that passes through an axial passage in a torsion spring. When the cable is pulled, the coupling mechanism is separated from the motor drive shaft, thereby disengaging the motor drive shaft from the shutter support member and permitting the torsion spring to quickly raise the rolling shutter.

Abstract: Disclosed is an integral single-cast multi wall structure including a very thin wall and a second thin wall. There is a passageway interposed between the pair of walls of the structure, and a high thermal conductivity member extends into said passageways and thermally couples the walls. The high thermal conductivity member increases the heat transfer between the walls of the structure. The present invention further includes a method for casting an integral structure having very thin walls that utilizes the high thermally conductive member in the casting process to hold the pattern and cores in alignment.

  • Patent number: 6244333
Abstract: Heat exchangers including elongated hollow housings having inlet and outlet ports for circulating first and second fluid media through the housings and whereby each housing includes a heat exchanging core that is formed of a single, folded corrugated sheet. The sheet is formed with a series of parallel peaks and valleys running angularly to the direction of the sheet so that when the sheet is folded there are defined a plurality of channels by reason of the crisscross pattern of peaks and valleys crossing one another at right angles in the tightly folded configuration of the core. The folded configuration provides discrete respective channels for conveying the first and second fluid media. In the preferred embodiment of the heat exchangers, every fold of the corrugated sheet is in contact with the housing interior and thereby form alternating isolated channels without the need to use any top, bottom or side seals around the core.
