Publication number: 20020129434Abstract: Elastic and/or decorative trim is attached along an edge of a fabric body of a garment without sewing. The trim comprises a textile material containing fibers of thermoplastic material. The fabric edge to which the trim is attached can be any type of fabric, not necessarily containing any thermoplastic fibers. The trim is attached by wrapping the trim around the fabric edge so that the edge is sandwiched between two opposing portions of the trim, and then localized regions of the trim are heated, preferably ultrasonically, to cause the thermoplastic material in the trim to become plastic and flow together from the opposing portions, thus penetrating through the fabric edge. The thermoplastic material is then allowed to cool and solidify, thereby attaching the trim to the fabric edge. Also disclosed are garments having ultrasonically formed joints between two or more fabric panels.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2002Publication date: September 19, 2002Applicant: Alba-Waldensian, Inc.Inventor: Sigi Rabinowicz

Publication number: 20020129447Abstract: An infant blanket/towel is provided having one or more teething elements and/or pacifiers attached thereto. The invention is conveniently used by draping the blanket/towel across the infant's chest and stomach and initially providing one of the teething or pacifier elements into the infant's grasp. When and if the infant drops the teething or pacifier element, the element does not fall to the floor or otherwise out of the infant's reach. Because the blanket/towel generally remains draped across the infant, the pacifier or teething element merely slips down onto the infant's chest. By the infant's natural tendency to grip the blanket/towel and thrust the blanket/towel into its mouth, the infant frequently can relocate the pacifier or teething element and re-position it into its mouth.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2002Publication date: September 19, 2002Inventors: Steven Dunn, Jennifer Fine

Publication number: 20020129476Abstract: There is provided a clustered device for manufacturing a semiconductor device in which a cleaning chamber, a rapid thermal processing chamber, an optical measurement chamber, and the like are arranged around a load-lock room. In an optical measurement system, there are disposed an exciting light source, a measuring light source, a light detector, a control/analyze system, and the like. During the formation of an oxide film, for example, a wafer is cleaned in the cleaning chamber and then the amount of a natural oxide film remaining on the wafer or the like is measured by optical modulation reflectance spectroscopy in the optical measurement chamber. Thereafter, the wafer is oxidized in the rapid thermal processing chamber. As a result, the surface of the wafer is prevented from being oxidized on exposure to an atmosphere and the surface state of the wafer can be monitored in the course of sequential process steps.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2002Publication date: September 19, 2002Applicant: MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.Inventor: Koji Eriguchi

Publication number: 20020129477Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the fabrication of a multielement acoustic probe. This process comprises the use of a flexible circuit having conducting tracks on at least one of its sides, the joining of this circuit to a plate of piezoelectric material (having metallizations), the production of vias through the flexible circuit, in order to address the said metallizations, and the production of electrical contacts within the vias.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 1999Publication date: September 19, 2002Inventors: JEAN-MARC BUREAU, FRANCOIS BERNARD

Publication number: 20020129478Abstract: A method for splitting a piezoelectric device used in substitution for dicing for shortening the processing time as compared to a case of using the dicing to improve productivity to enable the shape of the piezoelectric device more suited to the emission shape of a solution to be achieved, and a method for manufacturing a printer device whereby a narrower nozzle pitch may be achieved. A resist 201 is formed at a pre-set position on a major surface of the piezoelectric device 43 bonded to a vibrating plate. Using this resist 201 as a mask, powders or particles are sprayed onto the piezoelectric device 43 for removing the portion of the piezoelectric device 43 not carrying the resist 201 to form the piezoelectric device 35 of a desired shape at a pre-set position.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2002Publication date: September 19, 2002Applicant: SONY CORPORATIONInventor: Koichiro Kishima

Publication number: 20020129479Abstract: A disassembling device for disassembling a housing composed of a first member and a second member. The first member is attached to the second member by engaging a first engaging portion with a second engaging portion. The disassembling device comprises at least one first shifting mechanism and at least one second shifting mechanism. The first shifting mechanism is used to detach the second member from the first member. The first shifting mechanism comprises at least one first compressing portion while the second shifting mechanism comprises at least one second compressing portion. When the housing is to be disassembled, the second compressing portion detaches the first engaging portion from the second engaging portion partially. Publication number: 20020129481Abstract: Plastic conveyor belts made up of modules interconnected by transverse rods and capable of straight or radius travel are adjusted as to minimum radius the belt can traverse by restricting collapsibility at the inner edge of the belt. This can be accomplished using shims in the slotted apertures of link ends, preventing full rod travel in those apertures, at each row or at alternating or selected rows of the belt; or shims otherwise placed in the belt to prevent full collapse; or by using different modules in certain rows, with less collapsibility; or by substituting different edge modules in belts of multiple modules per row. In this way, a basic radius conveyor belt can be defined, with a relatively tight minimum radius, and then can be modified so as to be custom-fitted to spiral conveyor or other belt systems having specific curve radii which are larger than the radius of the basic belt.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2001Publication date: September 19, 2002Applicant: KVP Falcon Plastic BeltingInventors: Eric K. Publication number: 20020129482Abstract: An assembly technique and device for enclosing an open end of a movable socket (10) comprised of fully hardened materials with an expanding cover-plate (66) and for controlling the expansion of the cover-plate (66) to provide a central orifice (67) of predetermined dimensions to facilitate the installation of a grease fitting. During assembly, various internal components of the movable socket, including the pressure plate, are installed within a housing (12) through a posterior opening (16) with the cover-plate is positioned over the components. A two-stage ram (100) having a contact surface and a concentric pivot punch (142, 158) is brought into engagement with the cover-plate. Pressure exerted by the two-stage ram is transferred to the cover-plate through the contact surface, expanding the cover-plate to conform to the contact surface and enclosing the internal components within the socket housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2001Publication date: September 19, 2002Inventor: Glen C.
