Abstract: A railroad frog positioning and reconditioning table has an I-beam structure designed to support one or more frogs to enable welding repair of defective running surfaces. After defects are repaired with welding material, a portable frog milling machine table is attached to the frog table for positioning of a milling head over the frog which remains on the frog table. The milling head is connected to a support base that traverses the angular iron framework forming the milling machine table through guided sliding movement powered by a rack and pinion drive mechanism. Thus, the milling head cuts the running surface to original profile and an end mill cutting head cuts the frog flange ways to proper profile. The milling head cutting path is movable into straight and angularly offset positions to enable proper contouring.

Abstract: An integrated circuit package is provided with a ball landing area having a conductive structure for interlocking a conductive ball to the ball pad. The conductive structure improves the attachment strength between an integrated circuit package and an printed circuit board. In an exemplary embodiment, the locking structure is a conductive material added to the surface of the ball pad to provide a nonplanar interface, such as a dome or a step, which interlocks the conductive ball to the ball pad. The improved package construction increases the area of contact, moves the shear plane to a higher and larger portion on the conductive ball, and/or prevents a crack from propagating along a flat plane across the ball joint. This package construction maintains the small size of the ball land areas and the package, increases the life of the integrated circuit package, while offsetting the problem of package warpage.

The method comprises the steps of cutting back a first surface of the turbine blade adjacent the blade trailing edge portion where the crack is located, and cutting back a second surface of the turbine blade adjacent the blade trailing edge portion where the crack is located. Each cut back step comprises cutting back the respective surface by a depth greater than the length of the crack and less than the trailing edge radius to remove the crack and form a cut back trailing edge portion. A compound radius is used to prevent a blunt transition into the trailing edge that would result in aerodynamic losses and to reduce the airfoil root stresses. Abstract: The signal device includes a housing containing a light and having a front face adapted to receive, in removably mounted engagement thereon, a first message screen selected from a group of message screens. Each message screen of the group of message screens is preferably a substantially planar sheet permitting the passage of light therethrough when mounted in the front face and backlit by the light. The first message screen has a first distress message formed thereon which is illuminated when the message screen is backlit by the light. Each message screen of the group of message screens has a different distress message for communication by the backlighting by the light so that a user may select an appropriate distress message by selecting the corresponding message screen for mounting onto the front face. The light is activated by a switch mounted to the housing and cooperating with a power supply.

Abstract: A lamp includes a main body mounted on a base and formed from multiple layers of transparent wall panels that are spaced from one another by a small distance so that a narrow chamber is provided between any two adjacent layers of wall panels. Each of the narrow chambers contains a colored liquid and is provided at a bottom with an air supply port to communicate with an air pumping equipment. When the pumping equipment is actuated, air bubbles are continuously produced to enter the narrow chambers, at where the bubbles are flattened into irregular and clear shapes enclosed by differently colored liquids while keep moving upward in the narrow chambers. A light-emitting device mounted at a bottom of the main body projects light beams to shine the irregular and floating bubbles and the color liquids in the multiple layers of narrow chambers, creating dynamic, changeful and colorful views on the lamp.

Abstract: A system for rotating an objet d'art (object), includes an outer hollow cylinder in which is rotatably disposed an inner hollow cylinder, and an elongated shaft rotatably disposed in the hollow of the inner cylinder. An electric motor is coupled by a drive belt to a pulley mounted on the inner cylinder, so when the motor is operated, the inner cylinder rotates which, in turn, causes the shaft to rotate. The object is mounted on a top end of the shaft to rotate when the shaft is rotated. Rotation of the shaft and object may be temporarily stopped, reversed or otherwise altered without stopping operation of the motor since the shaft rotates independent of the inner cylinder, while the inner cylinder continues to rotate.

Abstract: A static display system mounted to an underground tunnel wall exhibits movie style images to passing passengers. Trip means control lighting of each image as the passenger carriages pass by. Extended lighting circuit means control duration of the lighting of each image for optimum contrast and viewability from the passengers point of view. The images are displayed by film reel means attached to framework means having guides which simplify changing the reels. Each reel segment contains about five image frames.

Abstract: A signage display attachment system for mounting a sign to a substrate is disclosed. The signage display attachment system comprises a frame having a pair of vertical sides and a pair of horizontal sides. Each pair comprises a pair of base plates mounted to a substrate and a corresponding pair of tensioning plates having a plurality of recesses thereon. Each of the plurality of recesses is an elongated rounded trench shape. Further, each of the tensioning plates is adapted to mount to the pair of base plates. A securing device is adapted to releaseably hold the tensioning plate to the base plate, An insertion bead mounted to the edge of a sign is adapted to engage one of the plurality of recesses.

Abstract: A semi-automatic breech locking pistol has a reciprocally movable slide which includes an integral bolt and defines an upwardly and laterally outwardly open ejection port forward of the bolt. A barrel at least partially disposed within the slide has a chamber and a rearwardly extending headspace extension hood and provides a closure for the ejection port in locked breech condition. A chamber status indicator formed by a rearwardly open notch in the headspace extension hood facilitates determination of chamber status by direct visual observation and may also include a forwardly open groove in the bolt which cooperates with the notch in locked breech condition.

Abstract: A manual safety system for reducing the chances of inadvertent discharge of a linear striker fired semi-automatic or automatic pistol equipped with the system. An otherwise conventional pistol is modified by structural changes in the trigger mechanism housing and by the addition of a trigger bar guide, a manually movable safety lever, a pressure plate and a spring. The trigger bar guide and safety lever are mounted to the trigger mechanism housing for linear and pivotal movement, respectively. A portion of the conventional trigger bar, which must be moved in order to effect firing movement of the trigger, is engaged with and blocked by the trigger bar guide which in turn is engaged and blocked by a portion of the safety lever. In order to unblock and enable the firing system, the safety lever is moved by applying pressure to a tab serving as a thumb rest.

Abstract: This invention concerns a perfected mechanical safety device for firearms such as automatic shotguns equipped with a safety device in the under-barrel grip where the safety device includes at least one safety pin or rod (11) that is axially moveable between an active position of disabling use of the firearm and an inactive position of enabling use of the firearm and, in association with this safety pin, at least one spring-loaded selector element (13, 14) that defines the said active and inactive positions of the safety pin, alternately, characterised by a safety body turning around an axis intersecting the moving direction of the safety pin between a position of locking the safety pin, thus inhibiting its movement from the active to inactive position, and unlocking it to permit movement from the active to the inactive position, the said safety body being enabled by a specific control key.
