Publication number: 20020194825Abstract: Pivoting hooks usable with four bar parallelogram implement lift linkages are provided. The hooks are pivotally attached at the forward edge of the implement to receive the cross bar of a suspension mechanism such as that taught in U.S. Pat. No. 5,025,617. The pivotal connection and axis about which the hooks are supported on the deck comprise one corner of the four bar parallelogram lift linkage. The hooks pivot forwardly and downwardly to receive the cross bar and then swing up as tension is applied to the hanger to support the deck. As the cross bar slides forwardly into the throats of the hooks when the hanger is tensioned, it is retained in the proper parallelogram lift geometry so that the deck remains level as it is adjusted throughout its vertical cutting height. The use of the pivoting hooks permits decks with extended fore and aft dimensions to be used with existing four bar parallelogram designs.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2001Publication date: December 26, 2002Inventor: Steven Henry Buss

Publication number: 20020194841Abstract: A diesel powered vehicle is provided with an SCR system which uses an external reducing reagent to convert NOx emissions in a manner which accounts for the effects of NOx transient emissions on the reducing catalyst. Actual NOx emissions produced by the engine are filtered using a variable NOx time constant in turn correlated to the reductant/NOx storage capacity of the reducing catalyst at its current temperature to account for changes in the SCR system attributed to NOx transient emissions. Catalyst temperature is filtered using a variable catalyst time constant corresponding to current space velocity of the exhaust gas to account for changes in the catalyst temperature attributed to NOx transient emissions. The reductant is metered on the basis of the filtered, corrected NOx concentration applied at a NSR ratio based, in turn, on the filtered, corrected reducing catalyst temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2002Publication date: December 26, 2002Applicant: Engelhard CorporationInventor: Mathijs Van Genderen

Publication number: 20020194843Abstract: An oxidation promoting catalyst (42) which converts nitrogen monoxide in exhaust gas to nitrogen dioxide, and a diesel particulate filter (41) which traps soot in the exhaust gas, are installed in an exhaust gas passage of a diesel engine (1). A control unit (21) determines whether or not it is necessary to regenerate the filter based on the exhaust gas pressure detected by an exhaust gas pressure sensor (24), and when it is necessary to regenerate the filter, it increases the nitrogen monoxide in the exhaust gas by performing an advance correction of the fuel injection timing of a fuel injector (14) so as to promote generation of nitrogen dioxide by the oxidation promoting catalyst. The nitrogen dioxide decreases the combustion temperature of the soot trapped by the diesel particulate filter (41), and efficiently regenerates the filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2002Publication date: December 26, 2002Applicant: NISSAN MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventor: Makoto Ootake

Publication number: 20020194844Abstract: Carbon-containing suspended particulates in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine are collected by a heat-resistant filter, and are burned on the filter. It is determined whether there is a need to increase the temperature of the heat-resistant filter. If it is necessary to increase the filter temperature, the dynamic pressure on the filter is increased. The conceivable cases where a filter temperature increase is needed includes a case where the exhaust gas temperature is low, a case where the filter is clogged to some extent, etc. If the dynamic pressure on the heat-resistant filter is increased, the filter temperature rises. Therefore, particulates can be effectively removed from exhaust gas while the clogging of the heat-resistant filter is avoided.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2002Publication date: December 26, 2002Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Kazuhiko Shiratani, Naohisa Oyama, Yoshitada Kodama

Publication number: 20020194858Abstract: An air conditioning system includes an engine driven compressor, and an independent electric motor driven compressor in a common housing. A controller adjusts the independent operation of the engine driven compressor and electric motor driven compressor in response to cooling demand input, and operational parameters of the engine and the battery, as well as optionally the electric motor driven compressor output and engine driven compressor output. A method of independently operating an engine driven compressor and electric motor driven compressor is also provided. The air-conditioning system, controller, and method are particularly useful in hybrid vehicles that use smaller displacement internal combustion engines and electric motor drive means.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2001Publication date: December 26, 2002Applicant: VISTEON GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Robert John Mohrmann, Brian Robert Kelm, Rance Andrew Stehouwer

Publication number: 20020194859Abstract: An evaporative cooling system that can be easily transported and set up quickly in indoor or outdoor environments to provide effective cooling to a sizable area in a short time period. The system can be operated from standard AC household electrical power, or from a 12-volt DC power source, such as a car or marine battery. The system water tank can be filled with water, or connected to a water source for continual refilling. The system can also be used with a light-weight water source, holding approximately 2 liters of water for temporary cooling, or without water to move large volumes of air.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2002Publication date: December 26, 2002Inventor: Ross Johnson

Publication number: 20020194861Abstract: A kimchi refrigerator according to the present invention is provided with an improved door structure capable of reducing the temperature difference between areas of different heights in a storage compartment. In the kimchi refrigerator, an air separation panel is mounted to a lower surface of the door which together with a depression under the door's lower surface defines an air storage chamber. The air storage chamber contains air having a raised temperature due to heat transferred from air inside the storage compartment. The air separation panel separates the air inside the air storage chamber from the air inside the storage compartment. Accordingly, the kimchi refrigerator reduces the temperature difference between the areas of different heights within the storage compartment, and creates a uniform temperature distribution in the storage compartment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2002Publication date: December 26, 2002Applicant: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventor: Kyu-Ho Shin

Publication number: 20020194866Abstract: A method of forming a methane product by rejecting nitrogen from a feed gas stream comprising methane and nitrogen is disclosed. After being cooled in a main heat exchanger, the feed gas stream is rectified in a double rectification column comprising a higher pressure column and a lower pressure column. A gas flow is recycled from the lower pressure column to the higher pressure column. Part of the recycle flow is compressed in a compressor, cooled, liquefied in a condenser-reboiler and introduced into the higher pressure column. Another part of the recycle flow is also compressed in the compressor, cooled, liquefied in the main heat exchanger or by expansion, and introduced into the double rectification column in liquid state. At least part of the cooling of both parts of the recycle gas is performed in the main heat exchanger. A liquid methane product is withdrawn from the lower pressure column.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2002Publication date: December 26, 2002Inventor: John Douglas Oakey
