Abstract: A rubber composition comprising (A) a polyisobutylene polymer having an allyl radical at an end, (B) an optional organpolysiloxane, (C) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two SiH radicals per molecule, and (D) a platinum group metal catalyst forms a seal member on a periphery of one side of a polymer electrolyte fuel-cell separator. Due to improved acid resistance, weather resistance, creep resistance and gas permeability, the seal member remains effective for a long period of time.
Abstract: The invention relates to synergistic combinations of certain phenolic antioxidants in thermoplastic polymers, especially in polyolefin pipes and other thermoplastic molding materials which are in prolonged contact with water. The instant combinations lead to better resistance against oxidative degradation as measured in terms of oxidation induction times (OIT), color and other technically important parameters as known in the art.

Abstract: The present invention relates to surfactantless latex compositions. Abstract: The invention relates to a process of ironing fabrics. The iron contains a refill cartridge, which contains a concentrated ironing aid. The concentrated aid is then diluted with water in the iron before it is provided to the fabrics during ironing. The aid comprises a nonionic silicone containing surfactant.

Abstract: Oxygen scavenging barrier polyamide compositions exhibiting high oxygen scavenging capability as well as good coinjection stretch blow moldability characteristics suitable for making multilayer PET bottles with good clarity and delamination resistance are claimed in this invention. The polyamide compositions of this invention comprise a slow crystallizing polyamide blend comprising (i) an amorphous, semiaromatic polyamide homopolymer, copolymer or mixture thereof and (ii) a semicrystalline, aliphatic polyamide homopolymer, copolymer or mixture thereof wherein in the weight ratio of (i):(ii) ranges from about 99:1 to about 30:70; at least one polyamide-compatible, oxidizable polydiene; and at least one oxidation promoting metal salt catalyst. The multilayer PET bottles, made with the polyamide compositions of this invention as the barrier layer, are suitable for extended shelf-life packaging of oxygen-sensitive food and beverage products such as beer and juices.

Abstract: A polyester composition includes a ligand capable of coordinating to a metal or metal ion, wherein the ligand includes at least one donor atom selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom, and an oxygen atom. Consequently, it is possible to inactivate a metal catalyst which adversely affects heat resistance. As a result, it is possible to obtain polyester compositions and films having excellent heat resistance, colorability, and weathering resistance. Moreover, in the process of producing a polyester, by separating and recovering a catalyst by adding a ligand which is capable of coordinating to a metal or metal ion and which includes at least one donor atom selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom, and an oxygen atom, it is possible to improve the heat resistance of the polyester composition.

Abstract: A material comprising a heated mixture of (A) an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer, an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid-unsaturated carboxylate copolymer, a metal ion neutralized product thereof, or a mixture thereof, (B) a polyurethane elastomer, and (C) an organic or inorganic basic compound has improved thermal stability, flow and moldability. Abstract: Disclosed are a process for synthesizing conductive polymers by gas polymerization and product thereof. The process for synthesizing conductive polymers includes the steps of coating oxidant on a substrate surface in the unit of several microns and drying in a dryer, contacting monomers of a gas phase to cause a polymerization to the surface on the substrate, and cleaning the substrate for removing the non-reacted monomers and the oxidant after the polymerization. The present invention reduces the manufacturing process to 2˜3 steps by using the gas polymerization, thereby decreasing the manufacturing cost to two third or more compared with conventional methods. Moreover, the present invention has an excellent thin film property and can freely adjust the electric conductivity.
