  • Patent number: 6557198
Abstract: A bed assembly provides an enlarged sleeping surface area as compared to a standard Queen sized bed. Specifically, in the disclosed bed assemblies, the sleeping surface area is about 64 inches to about 68 inches wide and about 77 inches to about 82 inches long. This can be accomplished by providing both a mattress and a foundation having the appropriate, enlarged sleeping surface area, or by combining an enlarged mattress with a foundation having at least one standard Queen size surface. The mattress and foundation can be fit into a bed frame made of a suitable size to fit the bottom surface of the foundation (i.e., either “enlarged” or standard Queen size). Preferably, the enlarged sleeping surface of the bed may be between about 65 inches to about 67 inches wide and about 78 inches to about 80 inches long. This enlarged sleeping surface area provides a more comfortable and restful sleep for two occupants.

  • Patent number: 6557213
Abstract: A closed loop push/pull system of the present invention employs a hot shelf tower dryer and a plurality of fans uniquely positioned throughout portions of the cotton gin to direct and recirculate air through the cotton gin. Because the system employs a hot shelf tower dryer, the conventional introduction and circulation of hot air from a burner and fan assembly, after the primary burner, is no longer necessary. Instead, the hot shelf tower dryer provides heat to the cotton through its heated shelves, this heat being provided to and circulated between the shelves by a burner and fan assembly. Since this heated air is not directly exposed to the cotton, it may be recirculated between the shelves of the tower dryer and the burner and fan assembly. By limiting conventional drying methods and by recirculating the air streams conveying the cotton, the system reduces the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6557223
Abstract: Improvements in Hydroenhancement efficiency are obtained by operating a manifold in relative movement to fabric transported under the manifold so as to deliver a low energy to the fabric per pass in multiple passes on the fabric. This results in greater enhancement efficiency and reduction in wasted energy, and also improves fabric coverage and reduces fabric shrinkage. The low-energy per pass, multiple-pass approach can be implemented with improved hydroenhancing equipment of reduced equipment size and cost which simulate multiple passes on the fabric. Embodiments employ a manifold or manifold system that is reciprocated, oscillated, or rotated to simulate multiple passes on the fabric. Other variations for improving hydroenhancement include angling the manifold at a diagonal to the fabric travel direction, using a high density number of double rows of jets to eliminate interference patterns.

Abstract: The invention relates to method for producing a hollow body (26) from sheet metal, especially from aluminum or aluminum alloys. According to the inventive method, a substantially flat sheet metal blank (4) is provided. At least one wall intermediate element (8) which is produced as one piece with the sheet metal blank (4) is folded and/or bent into several substantially superimposed layers. Marginal areas (16, 18) of the sheet metal blank (4) are placed closely side by side, preferably they are placed on top of one another in such a manner that they overlap to some degree, and they are connected to one another. The sheet metal blank (4) and the folded wall intermediate element (8) are subjected to a hydraulic or pneumatic internal high pressure so that the folded wall intermediate element (8) is freely unfolded to form the hollow body (26).

  • Patent number: 6557236
Abstract: An armature for a selectively engageable and disengageable coupling and a method of making the armature are provided. The armature includes a substantially annular body that is disposed about a first axis. The body may be formed by stamping or fine-blanking. One side of the body is hardened through a nitriding process. A grinding wheel is then applied at an angle to the same side of the body along a diametrical line of the body extending perpendicular to the first axis. As a result, the body is configured so that the thickness of the body increases as the distance from the diametrical line increases. In particular, the thickness of the body varies along each cross-section taken along the line from a minimum thickness at the innermost portion of the cross-section to a maximum thickness at the outermost portion of the cross-section. The inventive armature reduces galling, and the resulting noise, that occur during burnishing of couplings incorporating the armature.

After coil insertion, the final attachment devices are merely mounted to the stator receiving the stator core, eliminating most if not all post-coil-insertion lead identification and manipulation processes. The final attachment devices can be terminal receivers that include a plurality of is wire sockets for receiving a plurality of coil leads. Coil leads are connected to final attachment devices during the coil winding stage. Such connections add little or no additional time to the winding stage.
