Abstract: In a power switching apparatus which switches a power transmitting state from a drive member to left and right two driven members, a circumferential connection surface of the drive member and each of circumferential connection surfaces in both of the driven members are wedge connected according to an interposition of rolling elements by moving cages in an axial direction based on a centrifugal force of a switching means. The power switching apparatus also brings end surfaces of the cages into frictional contact with the driven members so as to rotate together therewith.

  • Publication number: 20030177865
Abstract: The invention provides an industrially efficient, low-cost, mass-production system for the process of producing fine solder powders using an in-oil atomization method wherein solder is melted in a heated dispersion medium for fine granulation. Molten solder melted in a solder melting tank and a mixture of a particle dispersion medium and a particle coalescence-preventing agent, prepared in a dispersion medium heating tank, are fed to a fine-granulation machine, in which dispersion energy is applied to obtain a dispersion of molten solder particles. The dispersion is processed in a solidifier-by-cooling to obtain a dispersion of solid solder particles, which is processed in a solid-liquid separator to separate the solid solder particles. The solid solder particles are washed and dried to obtain fine powders. The respective devices at these steps are connected together by way of piping, so that fine solder powders can continuously be produced.

Abstract: There are provided internally cross-linked, stable polymeric materials, in the form of substantially spherical particles, each particle consisting essentially of a single macromolecule. They have the unusual property of being soluble or dispersible in a liquid medium without significantly increasing the viscosity of the medium, rendering them potentially useful in imaging applications such as ink jet printers. They can be prepared by dissolving polymeric material in a solvent system to form a solution of the polymeric material at a concentration therein of less than the critical concentration for the polymer, causing the polymeric material to contract into an approximately spheroidal conformation in solution, cross-linking the polymeric material in solution in said spheroidal conformation so assumed, and recovering stable, cross-linked approximately spheroidal polymeric particles from the solution.

Indexing a crankpin to be machined next onto the axis of the work spindles is initiated in the state that journals of a crankshaft are clamped on index members which are rotatably supported respectively on work spindles with the axes thereof being offset by an eccentricity of crankpins from the axis of the work spindles. First, a clutch device interposed between each of the work spindle and the index member carried thereon is brought into disengagement. Then, a pin pusher is advanced toward the axis of the work spindle as it pushes a machined crankpin of the crankshaft and is positioned to a position spaced by a predetermined distance from the axis of the work spindle while the work spindle is rotated by half an angle through which the crankshaft is to be indexed rotationally.

Abstract: A cartridge feed tray for belt ammunition is modified to receive shorter ammunition and exclude ammunition of standard length by inclusion of an insert positioned along the forward containment wall of the tray. The insert carries a feed lip that fits through a loading port orifice in the feed tray to direct shorter ammunition downwardly as it is being advanced towards the weapon breach for loading.

Abstract: An aiming drive (10), in particular for rapidly lining up the forked pivotal holder (10) of a launch receptacle (12) for fragmentation grenades defending against an attacking missile is to be designed, with precise simultaneous azimuth and elevation adjustment for particularly high level of dynamics of its aiming procedure in spite of a high weight of the launch receptacle (12) which is provided with the fragmentation grenades. For that purpose the setting motors (13,14) are disposed stationarily in a support structure (15) which is fixed with respect to the object, away from the pivotal holder (19) and protected from the effect of fragments, from which support structure they are rotatable connected to a carrier ring (18) for the pivotal holder (19). The carrier ring (18) is supported rotatably in the support structure (15).

Abstract: A fluid flow device in one embodiment comprising a housing having an aperture or a plurality of apertures therein and in another embodiment a single chamber with a piston such as a flexible member forming a chamber and a vibratory member for vibrating the flexible member to simultaneously eject an array of laminar flow fluid vortices that coalesce with each other to form a larger fluid vortex that can be used for direct cooling or for inducing circulation of a cooling fluid within an enclosure to cool the components within the system. When used within a closed system the inventor provides a zero net flux device as the fluid contained within a sealed chamber can be stirred, or mixed, without the introduction of fresh fluid from the outside the system.

Abstract: A multi-stage collector of the type used to collect particles from industrial gas. The collector can contain multiple narrow and wide zones formed by a plurality of parallel corrugated plates. Contained in the narrow zones can be elongated electrodes with sharp leading and/or trailing edges. These electrodes can provide a non-uniform electric field near their sharp edges leading to corona discharge. The corona discharge causes particulate matter in the gas flow to become charged. The region in narrow zones away from the sharp edges of the electrodes resembles a parallel plate capacitor with relatively uniform electric field. In this region, particles can be collected on the plates and on the electrode. Wide regions can contain barrier filters (bag filters) with conductive surfaces. The collector can also be used to clean inlet gas in gasification plants and to collect re-usable materials from a gas stream.

Abstract: In a process for separating propylene from a mixture comprising propylene and propane, the mixture is passed through a bed of an adsorbent comprising a porous crystalline material having (i) a diffusion time constant for propylene of at least 0.1 sec−1, when measured at a temperature of 373° K and a propylene partial pressure of 8 kPa, and (ii) a diffusion time constant for propane, when measured at a temperature of 373° K and a propane partial pressure of 8 kPa, less than 0.02 of said diffusion time constant for propylene. The bed preferentially adsorbs propylene from the mixture. The adsorbed propylene is then desorbed from the bed either by lowering the pressure or raising the temperature of the bed.

Abstract: A clutch dust filtration apparatus, for filtering solid particles out of a mixture of air and suspended solids, includes a conduit member, a collection vessel, and a filter member. The conduit member includes a hollow transfer tube and a transverse collar extending outwardly from the transfer tube. The collection vessel has an open end and a closed end, and is indirectly connected to the conduit member. The outlet of the conduit member is spaced away from the closed end of the collection vessel. The filter member is attached to the collection vessel. Incoming air from the conduit member is required to make a sharp turn, in order to exit the apparatus via the filter member. This sharp turn causes solid material to drop out of the mixture and to be collected in the collection vessel.
