Abstract: A hand held an portable pump has a housing with an inlet on the bottom and an outlet on its side. A central tube extends up from the housing and has a bulb attached at its end. An inlet gate is positioned proximate the inlet to operate between a closed position in which the flow of liquid there through is inhibited and an open position in which liquid may flow through the inlet. The outlet has an outlet gate that is positioned to inhibit the flow of liquid into the housing in its closed position and to permit the flow of liquid out of the housing and into a discharge tube in the open position. The bulb is operated between an at rest position and a deflected or compressed position to urge fluid into and out of the bulb and in turn draw liquid through the inlet into the housing and to urge the liquid out of the outlet and into the discharge tube.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for dissipating heat from a steam pressure regulator for a reformer of a fuel cell system. The reformer including an inlet in fluid communication with a steam source, and an outlet providing a supply of hydrogen gas. The steam pressure regulator including a valve body, a valve movable between first and second positions, an actuator, and an intermediate body. The valve body defines an internal flow passage between first and second ports. The first port is adapted to be in fluid communication with the inlet of the reformer. The first position of the valve substantially prevents fluid communication through the internal flow passage, and the second position of the valve permits generally unrestricted fluid communication through the internal flow passage. The actuator includes an actuator body that defines a chamber, a movable actuator wall that divides the chamber into first and second chamber spaces, and a shaft that couples the movable actuator wall to the valve.

Abstract: A multiple pressure direct acting relief valve is disclosed. The multiple pressure relief valve comprises an actuating cylinder, a relief valve and an adjustment screw interconnecting the actuating cylinder and the relief valve. The relief valve includes a low pressure spring which biases a poppet valve arrangement permitting the poppet valve arrangement to be actuatable at a first pre-determined pressure. The actuating cylinder includes a piston that is biased by a high pressure spring causing an additional compressive force to be applied to the poppet valve arrangement through an actuating rod received through the adjustment screw. When pressure is applied to the piston within the actuating cylinder, an additional compressive force is applied by the high pressure spring and the actuator rod to the poppet valve arrangement causing the poppet valve arrangement to be actuatable at a second pre-determined pressure.

Abstract: A two, three or four-way valve includes two stages each with working valve components linked by a feedback spring so that a first stage servo unit is auto-nulling and the stroke of the valve member in a second stage valve unit is proportional to the input current to the first stage. An inherently balanced clevis member in the first stage controls flow of pressurized control media, which in combination with direct pressure flow, controls the position of a spool member in the second stage. The spool in turn controls pressure flow to a either one or two metering or input/output flow ports. Transient movement of the clevis due to change in input current to a magnetic servo drive assembly is opposed by bending of the feedback spring arising from the associated movement of the spool, which returns the clevis to its centered null position and stops the spool.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and method for urging fluid from a charging system to a pressurized system. The apparatus has a rigid body with a conduit defined therein. The body is mounted between, and connected to, a charging system containing pressurized fluid and a pressurized system. More specifically, a retractable discharge tube for actuating a first valve to allow the release of fluid held within the charging system, is inserted into a first end of the body. A depressor mounted at a second end of the body is inserted into a tubular fitting connected to the pressurized system. The fitting has a retractable pin for actuating a second valve to permit entry of the fluid into the pressurized system. Once the body is connected to both the charging system and the pressurized system, a force is applied on the charging system toward the pressurized system. The force causes the charging system and the pressurized system to mate with the body.

Abstract: The present invention involves a metal structure which has provisions for mounting a common hand held electric circular saw while supporting the wood being cut. Using the same tool, a woodworker may make accurate crosscuts, miter cuts, compound cuts, and rip cuts in a wide variety of wood components. Adjustable support wings can be employed to support long pieces of wood, particularly during the ripping process. Integrally mounted wheels provide means for easily moving the invention from one place to another. The invention's small size and light weight allow it to be stored when not in use.

Abstract: There is provided a lead-free solder which makes it possible to reliably and accurately perform the inspection of various kinds of defective soldering in the inspection using an image inspection apparatus after the reflow soldering. According to this lead-free solder, the delustering of the metallic luster of fillet is realized in order to minimize the probability of generating a dark portion at the area where no defective soldering is existed and instead to increase the area of whitish portion which can be generated through the irregular reflection of beam. Specifically, this invention provides a lead-free solder comprising an Sn—Ag—Cu-based lead-free solder containing a small quantity of Bi and Sb as an element which is capable of generating a delustering component for minimizing metallic luster of the fillet.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems for producing powder particles of extremely small, highly uniform spherical shape and high sphericity, composed of metal including single metals and alloys, including nanocomposite structures, using a self-assembling procedure. The invention further includes the produced spherical particles. The metal spherical particles are produced whereby molten metal, alloys or composites are directed onto a fast-rotating disk in an atmosphere containing one or more inert gases and small amounts of an oxidizing gas and the molten metal drops are dispersed as tiny droplets for a predetermined time using centrifugal force within a cooling-reaction gas, and then cooled rapidly to form solid spherical particles. The spherical particles comprise a crystalline, amorphous or porous composition, having a size of 1-300 &mgr;m±1% with a uniformity of size being ≦60-70% and a precise spherical shape of less than or equal to±10%.

Abstract: Disclosed is a steel for machine structural use having good machinability and chip-breakability as well as a method of producing the steel. The steel consists essentially of, by wt. %, C: 0.05-0.8%, Si: 0.01-2.0%, Mn: 0.1-3.5%, S: 0.01-0.2%, Al: 0.001-0.020%, Ca: 0.0005-0.02%, O: 0.0005-0.01% and N: 0.001-0.04%, and further, one or both of Ti: 0.002-0.010% and Zr: 0.002-0.025%, the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities. At production of the steel controlled deoxidization is conducted by operation meeting certain conditions so that at least a certain amount of “duplex inclusion” having a specific chemical composition may be formed, and Ti and/or Zr is added to precipitate finely dispersed MnS inclusion particles with nuclei of Ti-oxide and/or Zr-oxide. The finely dispersed MnS inclusions must share a determined part of the total sulfide inclusions.
