Publication number: 20030189268Abstract: A rustication for preparing reveal bands in a precast panel surface. The rustication is made from a one piece elongate body of extruded foam and comprises an upper surface, a lower surface and laterally-spaced sidewall surfaces that extend between the upper and lower surfaces. The lower surface defines a base plane. One or more downward-extending edges that project below the lower surface base plane are included such that they can bend under the application of a load, such as when concrete is poured around it to form the precast panel. Under such a load, the edge scrapes along the top of a panel-forming surface so that an enhanced sealing engagement between the panel-forming surface and the rustication is effected. The rustication can further include a plurality of longitudinally-spaced apertures that extend from the upper surface to the lower surface to facilitate the securing of the rustication to the panel-forming surface, thereby precluding rustication shift once the concrete is poured.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2001Publication date: October 9, 2003Applicant: Fukuvi USA, Inc.Inventor: Kyozaburo Takagi

Publication number: 20030189272Abstract: A process and a device produces an assembly linkage on a hollow profile which is shaped for the installation of the assembly part by internal high-pressure remodeling. In order to achieve the shaping of an assembly linkage in a component space-saving, for a subsequent assembly correctly positioned, and with regard to its contour exactly fitted to the assembly part, in simple manner and even with high degrees of remodeling in a secure process, the hollow profile, under internal pressure, which is smaller than the remodeling pressure, is indented at the place of the to-be-produced assembly linkage by a die and by forming a rough contour. Afterward, while the die remains in this indenting position, a fluid high pressure is created in the hollow profile. Thereby, the hollow profile sides surrounding the die are molded to the external contour of the die, and that after releasing the fluid high pressure and the subsequent removal of the die, the finished trough-shaped assembly linkage is released.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2003Publication date: October 9, 2003Applicant: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Pierre Bonny, Thomas Huelsberg

Publication number: 20030189309Abstract: A valve assembly for controlling the flow of fluid through a tube by pinching the tube to prevent fluid flow. The valve assembly includes a valve that receives the tube in a passage between a plunger and a bar. A spring urges the plunger toward the bar to pinch the tube closed. The bar focuses the pinching force of the plunger to reduce the pinching force required to prevent fluid flow. The valve assembly also includes a caliper for opening, locking open and closing the valve and that is attached to the valve with a cable. To open and close the valve, a main lever and lock lever, respectively are rotated in the same direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2002Publication date: October 9, 2003Inventor: Ronald Anthony Schmaltz

Publication number: 20030189310Abstract: An automatically engageable and releasable brake apparatus for a wheelchair, including a connection mechanism adapted to be attached to a portion of the frame of the wheelchair proximate a rear wheel of the wheelchair, a seat actuation member extending from a portion of the connection mechanism and adapted to be positioned substantially beneath the seat of the wheelchair, a shaft member positioned to extend substantially downwardly from a portion of the connection mechanism and a friction member positioned proximate the other end of the shaft member and adapted to contact the ground. Occupational ingress activates the seat actuation member to move from a first position to a second position, which causes the shaft member to rotate in concert therewith such that the friction member also moves from a first position in substantial contact with the ground to a second position spaced a distance above the ground.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2002Publication date: October 9, 2003Applicant: Air Movement Technologies, Inc.Inventors: James B. Publication number: 20030189311Abstract: A wheel chair includes two side assemblies each include a back post with a hand grip, a seat bar connected to a lower end of the back post, an arm rest movably connected to the back post, a hanger bracket connected to a front end of the seat bar, a caster rotatably connected to a front end of the seat bar, and a rear wheel connected to a side of the side assembly. A connection device connects the back post and the arm rest, or the front end of the seat bar and the hanger bracket. The connection device has a C-shaped member fastened on the back post or the front end of the seat bar extends. A sleeve is connected to an outside of the C-shaped member and a first end of a connection tube is movably and rotatably received in the sleeve. A locking bolt extends through a close end of the sleeve and is threadedly connected to the first end of the connection tube. The arm rest or the hanger bracket is fixedly connected to a second end of the connection tube.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2002Publication date: October 9, 2003Inventors: Zen-Jye Chen, Wen-Huei Chung, Ju-Pin Li

Publication number: 20030189313Abstract: For use with a towing vehicle having a hitching device (38) on a rearwardly extending bar support (32). A medial panel (20) and a base (14) are joined by a pivoting device (15) allowing the medial panel (20) movement from a horizontal position to a vertical position. The medial panel (20) is equipped at opposite edges with pivoting devices (12) and (13) allowing the attachment of the side plates (8) and (10). By use of the pivoting devices (15), (12), and (13) the invention can be positioned in a “closed” state providing a protective box like structure surrounding the hitching apparatus (38). The anterior surfaces of the side plates (8) and (10) are covered with a resilient material to lessen injury if contact is made. The invention may also be positioned in a “open” or bumper guard position by use of the pivoting devices (15), (12), and (13).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2002Publication date: October 9, 2003Inventor: Daniel F.
