Abstract: An apparatus and process are provided for discharging a dose of a molten metal from a pressure pour furnace. A heating chamber of the furnace is used to keep the molten metal at a selected temperature. A sealing port between the heating chamber and a pressure chamber allows selectively filling of the pressure chamber with molten metal from the heating chamber by inserting or removing a sealing means from the sealing port. The sealing means inserted in the sealing port also provides a means for preventing back flow of the molten metal to the heating chamber when the pressure chamber is pressurized. Differential pressure sensing of the pressure of the molten metal in the pressure chamber and the pressure of the pressurizing gas in the pressure chamber can optionally be used to achieve an accurate measured discharge from the pressure chamber as the level of molten metal decreases from repeated discharges of doses from the furnace.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for electromagnetic confinement of molten metal during strip casting of molten metal between two belts that wrap around entry pulleys to create a molding zone. The molten metal is delivered to a curved surface of each belt to form strip metal. The molten metal is contained within the molding zone by a pair of edge containment devices. The edge containment devices have a C-shaped magnetic member with an upper pole having an upper pole face and a lower pole having a lower pole face. Current flows through a coil wrapped around a core region of the magnetic member to create magnetic lines of force that flow between the upper pole face and the lower pole face. The C-shaped magnetic member is positioned such that magnetic lines of force pass through the edges of the two belts and the molten metal, and keep the molten metal within the molding zone.

Abstract: A modular capillary pump loop (CPL) cooling system and associated components. The modular CPL cooling system transfers heat from high-power circuit components, such as microprocessors disposed within computer chassis, to other locations within or external to the chassis, where the heat can be more easily removed. In various embodiments, the CPL cooling system includes one or more evaporators connected to one or more condensers via flexible liquid transport and vapor transport lines. A wicking structure, such as a volume of sintered copper, is disposed within each condenser. The wicking structure draws working fluid (e.g., water) in a liquid state into the evaporator based on a capillary mechanism and a pressure differential across a meniscus/vapor interface on an upper surface of the wicking structure. As the liquid meniscus is evaporated, additional fluid is drawn into the evaporator. The working fluid is then condensed back into a liquid in the condenser.

Abstract: A combination box scraper assembly compatible with a tractor's three-point hitch and includes a self-guiding hitch system which enables the connection of a variety of tractor implements to the box scraper. The box scraper includes a hydraulically operated tool attachment, and a rake member that is manually raised and lowered with a lever. A horizontal support member is fixedly disposed between the sides of the box scraper. First and second arms are attached to the support member and upwardly extend from the support member and converge to form a bracket member for attachment to the tractor's three-point hitch. The lower ends of the arms are spaced apart for attachment to the tractor's hitch system. First and second plates are attached to the support member parallel to the first and second arms. The first and second plates each have an extension member that downwardly depends from the plates. Each of the extension members include an extension aperture for connecting the box scraper to the tractor implement.

Abstract: Power tools of the type under consideration include hammer drills, for example, which are electric or battery powered and includes two modes of operation: a rotation mode and a rotation-hammer mode. A manually operable selector lever enables the hammer drill to be selectively operated in one of the two modes by disengaging and engaging a hammer mechanism. In rotation-hammer mode, the drive shaft of the hammer drill rotates a tool element about a rotational axis and oscillates the tool element along a rotational axis. An attachment mountable within the chuck of a hammer drill prevents a tool element from rotating when the hammer drill is operating in rotation-hammer mode. The hammer drill attachment transfers hammer action, but not rotation, to the tool element. The hammer drill attachment enables dual function power tools to be operated in a hammer only mode to perform a function, for example, chiseling.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a housing, in particular for the installation of electrical and electronic components, consisting of a housing lower section and a cover, fixable thereto, whereby the cover and housing lower section are connected to each other in a hinged manner, by means of at least two flexible inner elements, arranged at a separation from each other outside the sealed inner chamber of the housing. Conventional housings of this type have the disadvantage that the hinge-like connection of housing lower section and cover is relatively costly. The aim of the invention is to provide a less costly solution for the above. Said aim is achieved whereby the ends (19.1), (19.2) of the flexible inner element (19) have greater cross-section than the region lying between said ends, whereby at least one of the ends (19.2) is elastically embodied for a temporary reduction in cross-section.

A front end of the inserting rod with respect to the retaining seat is firmly secured with a rapidly-connecting joint secured to a front end of the retaining seat. In this wire connection box, the inserting rod can be pulled out from the retaining seat for packaging, transferring and storage. Since the wire connection box and the inserting rod can be detached for reducing the volume, the retaining seat inserted by the inserting rod is assembled in the wire connection box. When assembly, it is only necessary to insert the inserting rod into the retaining seat for use. No other tool, such as studs, is needed. Thereby, the user can assemble the wire connection box by himself (or herself).
