Abstract: A method for awarding a bonus to a player of an electronic gaming device at one of a plurality of casino properties is implemented with a slave server networked with gaming devices at each property. The slave servers are networked with a master server that accumulates a pool comprising a percentage of play on the gaming devices. The pool is initiated with a starting value, which defines the lower end of a range having a predetermined maximum number at the upper end. A number is randomly selected from within the range. As play progresses, the pool increases until it hits the random number. As a result, a slave server is randomly selected. The randomly selected slave server then awards the bonus to a randomly selected one of its associated gaming devices.

Abstract: Two-step protruding portions are provided in a cover of a pulley for hooking the cover on the pulley. When a bridging part is broken, a driving-unit-side portion of the bridging part is outwardly displaced in a rotation axis direction of the pulley. The first-step protruding portion of the cover thereby slips out from a hooking state. However, after the driving-unit-side portion mounts on the driven-unit-side portion, no further force acts outwardly in the rotation axis direction. As a result, the second-step protruding portion of the cover is hooked on the pulley, so that the cover can be fixed to the pulley. This results in inhibiting broken bridging parts or dampers from dispersing.

Abstract: The invention provides for a guide system (10) for tensioning a belt. The guide system (10) comprises an endless belt (12); at least two guides (14, 16) for guiding the belt (12); and tensioning means (18) for tensioning the belt (12) between the guides (14, 16), the tensioning means (18) being movable between a tensioned and a substantially non-tensioned position such that in the tensioned position it is biased to the non-tensioned position to compensate for a loss in belt tension. The guide system (10) also comprises self-adjusting regulating means that is operatively associated with the tensioning means (18) and that is adapted for moving the tensioning means (18) towards its tensioned position upon occurrence of belt slacking for effecting substantially immediate tensioning of the belt (12) while the belt (12) is running and without the necessity of manual intervention.

Abstract: The invention comprises a belt installation tool comprising a substantially planar body. A belt engaging surface extends substantially normally from a portion of the planar body. A pulley engaging portion extends from the planar body approximately opposite the belt engaging surface. A central bore allows a tool to engage a pulley shaft. In use, the pulley engaging surface engages a pulley whereby the tool is rotated by a pulley rotation about a pulley axis, thereby causing the belt engaging surface to automatically urge a belt onto a pulley. The planar body stabilizes the tool against the pulley as a belt is installed. The molded body may be fabricated by injection molding.

Abstract: An assembly for maintaining tension in a drive belt features a housing mounted on a base. The housing contains a biasing element that exerts torque on the housing to bias the housing in a radial direction. A lever arm is connected to the housing and rotates with the housing in response to the bias of the biasing element. A pulley is connected to the lever arm and engages a drive belt in response to the bias force of the biasing element on the lever arm. The pulley deflects the shape of the belt to provide tension in the belt. In one embodiment, the apparatus allows the user to switch the position of the biasing element and alter the direction of torque on the lever arm. In another embodiment, the lever arm and pulley are removable from the housing and replaceable with other arms and pulleys having different configurations.

Abstract: An automatic transmission for a hybrid electric vehicle where an engine is shut down during vehicle stops to improve fuel economy. The automatic transmission includes a main pump that is driven off of a transmission input shaft, and an electronically driven auxiliary pump. A shut down shuttle valve switches a hydraulic circuit connection from the main pump to the auxiliary pump for a low-reverse clutch and a forward clutch when the vehicle stops in drive or low gear. A pressure transducer, controller and steady state relay allow for closed loop feedback to control the auxiliary pump in order to assure sufficient hydraulic pressure while minimizing power consumption.

Abstract: In an oil pressure control device, a clutch apply control valve is provided in an oil passage between a control valve and a linear solenoid valve. The clutch apply control valve is changed between a first position where an input port and an output port are connected so as to supply a control pressure to a control oil chamber, and a second position where another input port and the output port are connected so as to supply the control oil chamber with a D range pressure, instead of the control pressure. Therefore, the clutch apply control valve makes it possible to reliably supply an engaging pressure to a clutch even in the case of a failure of the control valve or the like to ensure good responsiveness of the clutch.

Abstract: A Rankine cycle system (9) for recovering a heat energy of an exhaust gas is mounted on a hybrid vehicle including an internal combustion engine (1) as a drive source for traveling of the vehicle and an electric generator motor (2). An output from the Rankine cycle system (9) is input to a transmission (4) and used to assist in a driving force from the internal combustion engine (1), or converted into an electric power and used to charge a battery (8). During acceleration and cruising of the vehicle, the heat energy of the exhaust gas is recovered by the Rankine cycle system (9), and during deceleration of the vehicle, a kinetic energy of a vehicle body is recovered as a regenerative electric power for the electric generator motor (2), thereby reducing the amount of fuel consumed in the internal combustion engine (1). Thus, even when the vehicle is in any operational state, the energy recovery efficiency can be enhanced to the maximum to reduce the amount of fuel consumed in the internal combustion engine.

Abstract: A belt type continuously variable transmission (CVT) (10) for a vehicle varies the speed ratio in accordance with the hydraulic pressure that is regulated via a hydraulic pressure regulating unit (30). A sensor (27) detects a vehicle speed. A CVT controller (20) calculates a target hydraulic pressure that is supplied to the CVT (10) on the basis of a predetermined speed change schedule so that the speed ratio varies in the direction of up-shifting as the vehicle speed increases (S15). The CVT controller (20) also determines whether or not a specified condition holds (S16, S160), and controls the hydraulic pressure regulating unit according to a target start-up hydraulic pressure which is larger than a target hydraulic pressure for normal running (S11, S13), thereby preventing a speed change lag when the vehicle starts to move.
