Abstract: This lighting system improves the illumination of enclosed spaces by reducing undesirable shadows. Elongated curved reflective surfaces at the upper periphery of the illuminated space reflect light from a central source to the activity area. Light arriving at the activity area from many directions softens or eliminates shadows. Appropriate lighting contrast may be selected at installation and maintained by simple adjustments in response to changes in layout, furnishings, and activities conducted in the illuminated area. Contrast may be controlled as needed by varying the ratio of light reflected from the periphery to that proceeding directly from the central source to the activity area. A smaller number of efficient, powerful light sources lowers power consumption, reduces fixture installation and wiring costs, and diminishes maintenance labor compared to conventional lighting systems.

Abstract: A two-phase driver comprises two H-bridge circuits each of them including a transformer and two switch assemblies connected to the opposite terminals of the primary side of the transformer, in which one of the switch assemblies is shared by the two H-bridge circuits. Each of the switch assemblies includes a high-side switch and a low-side switch, and each of the high-side switch and low-side switch is switched by a respective signal so as to modulate the loading currents supplied to two loading loops connected to the two H-bridge circuits, respectively.

Abstract: A static content addressable memory (CAM) cell. The CAM cell includes a latch having complementary data nodes capacitively coupled to ground, first and second access transistors, each coupled between a data node of the latch and a respective data line. The gates of each access transistor is coupled to a word line such that when activated, the respective data node and data line are coupled. The CAM cell further includes a match circuit coupled to one of the complementary data nodes of the latch. The match circuit discharges a match line in response to a data value stored at the data node to which the match circuit is coupled and compare data present on the respective data line mismatching. Two of the CAM cells can be used to implement a full ternary CAM cell.

Abstract: Structures, systems and methods for memory cells utilizing trench bit lines formed within a buried layer are provided. One memory cell embodiment includes forming the memory cell in a triple well structure that includes a substrate, the buried layer, and an epitaxial layer. The substrate, buried layer, and epitaxial layer include voltage contacts that allow for the wells to be biased to a dc voltage level. The memory cell includes a transistor which is formed on the epitaxial layer, the transistor including a source and drain region separated by a channel region. The trench bit line is formed within the buried layer, and is coupled to the drain region of the transistor by a bit contact.

Abstract: A multi-bank memory array architecture utilizing topologically non-uniform blocks of sub-arrays and input/output (“I/O”) assignments in an integrated circuit memory device. By using non-uniform blocks of multiple identical sub-arrays, non-uniform assignments of blocks to banks and/or non-uniform assignments of I/Os to blocks, it is possible to optimize the dimensions of the chip and the placement of the I/Os with respect to the package pads. In this manner, the granularity of the building blocks of sub-arrays is improved while the flexibility in I/O assignment is also improved leading to more efficient and flexible chip layouts.

Abstract: An integrated non-volatile memory circuit is formed by first growing a thin dielectric layer on a semiconductor substrate surface, followed by depositing a layer of conductive material such as doped polysilicon on this dielectric layer, the conductive material then being separated into rows and columns of individual floating gates. Cell source and drain diffusions in the substrate are continuously elongated across the rows. Field dielectric deposited between the rows of floating gates provides electrical isolation between the rows. Shallow trenches may be included between rows without interrupting the conductivity of the diffusions along their lengths. A deep dielectric filled trench is formed in the substrate between the array and peripheral circuits as electrical isolation. Various techniques are included that increase the field coupling area between the floating gates and a control gate.

Abstract: An improved architecture which reduces the adverse impact of the disturb pulse on non-selected ferroelectric memory cells is disclosed. The architecture provides plateline selection switches for selectively coupling memory groups on the selected side of the memory block to the plateline and decoupling the non-selected side of the memory block from the plateline. By decoupling the non-selected side of the memory block from the plateline, the plate pulse does not adversely affect the memory cells in the non-selected side of the memory block.

A semiconductor memory test mode configuration includes a first capacitor for storing digital data The capacitor connects a cell plate line to a first bit line through a first select transistor. The first select transistor is activated through a connection to a word line. A second capacitor stores digital data and connects the cell plate line to a second bit line through a second select transistor. The second select transistor is also activated through a connection to the word line. A sense amplifier is connected to the first and second bit lines and measures a differential read signal on the first and second bit lines.
