Abstract: An antenna comprises a ground pattern, and a planar element that is fed and equipped with a cut-out portion provided from the farthest edge portion formed from the feed position toward the ground pattern side, and the ground pattern and the planar element are juxtaposed with each other. The cut-out portion enables to further miniaturize the antenna and secure current paths to obtain radiation in a low-frequency range. Since the ground pattern and the planar element are juxtaposed with each other, the mount volume of the antenna can be reduced, and the antenna characteristic, particularly the impedance characteristic, can be easily controlled, and the bandwidth can be widened.

Abstract: Electrical connectivity devices for railway systems are formed of a conductive loaded resin-based material. The conductive loaded resin-based material comprises micron conductive powder(s), conductive fiber(s), or a combination of conductive powder and conductive fibers in a base resin host. The percentage by weight of the conductive powder(s), conductive fiber(s), or a combination thereof is between about 20% and 50% of the weight of the conductive loaded resin-based material. The micron conductive powders are metals or conductive non-metals or metal plated non-metals. The micron conductive fibers may be metal fiber or metal plated fiber. Further, the metal plated fiber may be formed by plating metal onto a metal fiber or by plating metal onto a non-metal fiber. Any platable fiber may be used as the core for a non-metal fiber. Superconductor metals may also be used as micron conductive fibers and/or as metal plating onto fibers in the present invention.

The balanced feed dipole antenna and the unbalanced feed antenna exhibit disparate spatial-polarization patterns which are suitable for use with a MIMO transceiver, and the decorrelation of signals received by the two antennas is preserved due to a low level of coupling through the ground structure, which is due, in part, to differences in the symmetry properties of current patterns in the ground structure that are associated with the operation of the two antennas. The two antennas can also be used in a transceiver (629) that uses separate antennas to receive and transmit.

A timing controller supplies a predetermined timing signal to a NAND circuit, a shutdown terminal of the charge pump circuit, and a gate shading circuit including a capacitor, a resistor, a NOT circuit, and a transistor. When this timing signal is high, the charge pump circuit makes a normal operation and the gate shading circuit is deactivated. When this timing signal is low, the charge pump circuit stops operating and the gate shading circuit is activated to drain an electric charge from the output of the charge pump circuit.

Abstract: A source driver output circuit of a thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) includes first through n-th voltage generators, first through n-th switching portions, first through n-th sub switching portions, and a switching circuit. The voltage generators receive first through n-th corresponding input voltages and generate first through n-th sub input voltages. The switching portions generate the sub input voltages as first through n-th corresponding output voltages when activated, or cut off the sub input voltages when deactivated. The sub switching portions connect predetermined share lines to the output voltages when activated, or cut off the predetermined share lines when deactivated. The switching circuit maintains each of the share line voltages equally at an intermediate voltage level that is between the share line voltages. Therefore, the slew rate of a signal input to the panel from the source driver can be improved, and current consumption in the source driver can be reduced.

Abstract: A field sequential liquid crystal display maintains its white colour point through compensation values to at least one colour light emitting diode that illuminates the display. The compensation values may be impedances to control the current or pulsing of the current source according to a pulse width modulation technique. A degradation curve may be used to calculate extrapolate the theoretical forward voltage of the light emitting diode. Additional complexity arises from the need for calculating uptime for multiple light emitting diodes of different colours. Brightness levels may also be factored in.
