Abstract: A method of controlling a trailer brake system using a trailer brake controller positioned within a passenger vehicle is provided. The method includes obtaining intended braking inputs and developing an effective baseline trailer brake controller output profile based thereon. The method scales the effective baseline trailer brake controller output profile in response to an adjustable gain setting set by an operator. The wheel speed is determined at a plurality of wheel locations and vehicle acceleration is calculated. The vehicle acceleration is utilized to selectively choose one of the wheel speed. The vehicle velocity is based on the selectively chosen wheel speed. The vehicle velocity is used to calculate a correction factor to the effective baseline trailer brake controller output profile. The effective baseline trailer brake controller output profile is then adjusted using the correction factor to generate a corrected trailer brake controller output signal.

Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for holding and/or guiding and applying power to a carbon brush (16, 18) in the direction of a current-transferring commutator (14) comprising a first spring element (20), which acts upon the side of the carbon brush facing away from the contact surface. To ensure that the carbon brush is supplied with the necessary pressure in the direction of the commutator, it is suggested that a second spring element (52, 56, 56), which supplies power to the carbon brush (16, 18) in the direction of the commutator (14), act upon the first spring element (20).

Abstract: To provide a drive detection means for a piezoelectric actuator that can detect an amount driven without requiring adding an encoder or other component while also preventing increasing the load. A rotor is disposed eccentrically to the axis of rotation to change the pressure applied from the rotor to a contact part as the rotor is driven. When the pressure changes, the amplitude of the detection signal output from the detection electrode 18 of the piezoelectric element changes in conjunction with rotor rotation, and how much the rotor has been driven can be detected by detecting the amplitude change. Size and thickness can therefore be reduced because providing an encoder, switch, or other component is unnecessary, and current consumption can also be reduced.
