Abstract: A description is given of a switchable multiband antenna for the highfrequency and microwave range, which can be operated in a relatively large number of frequency bands without significant restriction of performance in each individual frequency band. This is essentially achieved by a switchable input structure (24) by means of which resonant printed line structures (21; 22) of the antenna that are not required can be isolated from an HF or ground supply line (242). In particular, in one embodiment, a number of resonant printed line structures are applied to a substrate (10), which printed line structures are connected to the corresponding HF or ground supply line or isolated from the latter, in a targeted manner, by means of one or more switching devices.

By collapsing, invention may be easily carried or shipped in a compact container. May be used in remote locations with simple or automated setup and orientation. Azimuth is adjusted by rotating an antenna in relation to a positioner base and elevation is adjusted by rotating an elevation motor coupled with the antenna. Manual orientation of antenna for linear polarized satellites yields lower weight and power usage. Updates ephemeris or TLE data via satellite. Algorithms used for search including Clarke Belt fallback, transponder/beacon searching switch, azimuth priority searching and tracking including uneven re-peak scheduling yield lower power usage. Orientation aid via user interface allows for smaller azimuth motor, simplifies wiring and lowers weight. Tilt compensation, bump detection and failure contingency provide robustness.

Abstract: The semiconductor device includes a plurality of pixels each including a plurality of sub-pixels, a power supply line and a plurality of signal lines for operating the plurality of pixels, a driver circuit for outputting signals to the plurality of signal lines, a signal input circuit for controlling the driver circuit, a compensation circuit which determines if a pixel has a normal state, a defective bright spot, or a point defect in the case where a current value detected shows an abnormal value, and accordingly outputs a compensation signal to the signal input circuit, and a current value detection circuit which detects a current value flowing through the power supply line when each sub-pixel is lighted. Thus, a pixel including a sub-pixel which shows an abnormal current value when lighted is compensated by a signal output from the driver circuit.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an image display device that is free from disconnection in a connection structure between given substrates even when operated in a hot and humid environment. An image display device according to a preferred embodiment of the invention has a TFT substrate and an FPC. The TFT substrate has a plurality of first terminals capable of application of potential. The FPC has second terminals that are connected respectively with the first terminals through an anisotropic conductive film and that are thicker than the first terminals. The second terminals include a high-potential terminal, a low-potential terminal, and a dummy terminal. The high-potential terminal is supplied with a relatively high potential that contributes to the display operation. The low-potential terminal is supplied with a relatively low potential that contributes to the display operation.

Abstract: In an EL display device which performs area grayscale display, image quality is improved and stabilized. A plurality of subpixels each having light emitting elements which emit light of approximately the same color and a plurality of monitor pixels each having the same number of subpixels as the pixel are provided. The light emitting element in the monitor pixel is manufactured at the same time as the light emitting element in the pixel, and the electrode of the light emitting element in the monitor pixel is connected to a different constant current source in each subpixel. A circuit for changing a potential of the electrode of the light emitting element in the pixel for each subpixel in accordance with a potential change of the electrode of the light emitting element of the monitor pixel, thereby the aforementioned purposes are achieved.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display according to an embodiment of the present invention provides a OCB liquid crystal display that can stably operate without breaking the bending alignment regardless of applied voltage. The display includes first and second alignment layers that are formed on the first and second substrates, respectively, and that horizontally align the liquid crystal layer. A normal data voltage is determined based on a first gamma curve representing luminance corresponding to external image information and impulsive data voltages are determined based on a second gamma curve representing a luminance that is lower than that of the first gamma curve. The normal data voltage and the impulsive data voltage are applied periodically and alternately.

Abstract: A method and system for presenting data on a medium for capture by an input device is described. The method embeds a symbol design, such as an embedded interaction code (EIC), in an image on a display screen, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD). A grid with a plurality of pixels defines a size of an EIC pattern on an LCD. An area of the grid is used to embed position data and/or metadata information. The area may be defined by a sub-pixel of the plurality of pixels and/or the edges of the grid itself. The sub-pixel with the EIC pattern may be configured to have a grey value based upon a color of an underlying image associated with an application program being displayed on the LCD. The method also allows for decoding of the position data and/or metadata information in the EIC pattern on the LCD.
