  • Patent number: 7175756
Abstract: The device for treating working fluid includes a fluid level detecting device for detecting a fluid level of cleaned fluid in a cleaned fluid tank, and a control unit for determining an adjustment value for a discharge rate command for a filter device pump, based on the fluid level detected by the fluid level detecting device. The control unit operates to determine a renewed discharge rate command by adding the adjustment value thus determined to the present discharge rate command, and to output the renewed discharge rate command to a pump controller. The pump controller drives the filter device pump according to the discharge rate command to transfer the working fluid from the polluted fluid tank to the cleaned fluid tank through the filter device.

  • Patent number: 7175768
Abstract: A method is disclosed for clarifying, by flotation, waters contaminated with suspended matter, wherein the clarification treatment takes place in two successive steps implemented in a single installation. The method principally involves flowing contaminated water through a downflow static flocculation step and then down through a lamellar settler separation step positioned directly below the downflow static flocculation step, the settling rates of the heavier particles of the lamellar settler separation step removing heavier particles from the water retained during the static flocculation/lamellar separation step being less than or equal to the settling rates of the floatable particles. The water which has passed through the static flocculation/lamellar settler separation step is then subjected to a flotation step which removes the light particles in the water of which the settling rate is lower than a flotation cutoff threshold.

  • Patent number: 7175772
Abstract: An actuator assembly and method for making and using an actuator assembly. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an actuator body having an actuator channel with a first region and a second region. An actuator is disposed in the actuator channel and is movable when in a flowable state between a first position and a second position. A heater is positioned proximate to the actuator channel to heat the actuator from a solid state to a flowable state. A source of gas or other propellant is positioned proximate to the actuator channel to drive the actuator from the first position to the second position. The actuator has a higher surface tension when engaged with the second region of the channel than when engaged with the first region. Accordingly, the actuator can halt upon reaching the second region of the channel due to the increased surface tension between the actuator and the second region of the channel.

  • Patent number: 7175777
Abstract: A single, controlled etch step can be used to form a sharp tip feature along a sidewall of an etch feature. An etch process is used that is selective to a layer of tip material relative to the substrate upon which the layer is deposited. A lag can be created in the etch, such that the etch rate is slower near the sidewall. The sharp tip feature is formed from the same layer of material used to create the etch feature. The sharp tip feature can be used to decrease the minimum critical dimension of an etch process, such as may be due to the minimum resolution of a photolithographic process. The novel tip feature also can be used for other applications, such as to create a microaperture for a photosensitive device, or to create a micromold that can be used to form objects such as microlenses.

Abstract: A realistic three-dimensional replica casting of naturally occurring samples of wood, rock and marine specimens produces realistic appearing landscape or indoor light modules that can simulate flickering candles in nightclubs and restaurants. The method employs a two-part barrier mold technique enabling production of an exact copy of the whole, full bodied, original specimen and includes a lamp unit pattern for creating a three dimensional space for containing a lamp module that is positioned adjacent a relatively flat face of the replica of the natural specimen. The final casting is made of fortified cement that is permanently stained with metallic salts in an HCL solution producing the desired coloration matching that of the original specimen while masking the color of the concrete. The replica is solid and heavy and need not be attached to the ground during outdoor use to maintain it in place, due to the weight of the concrete.

  • Patent number: 7175795
Abstract: A fiber textile semi-finished material is fed directly and reformed onto a carrier and reforming tool, where it is fixed with a binder. The carrier has a contour matching the negative or positive shape of the final required geometry of a preform that is to be fabricated. The reformed semi-finished article fixed with the binder is removed from the carrier to provide the preform. Several preforms of different cross-sectional shapes are joined together, compacted to form a dense component having nearly the required finished contour, impregnated with a matrix system including a curable adhesive resin, and then cured under an elevated temperature and/or pressure. The result is a finished fiber reinforced composite structural element such as an aircraft window frame. This method is carried out on an apparatus including the rotating carrier and reforming tool, which may have a cylindrical and/or annular surface for receiving and reforming the material.

Abstract: The core mold in the molding device (51) for forming the molded member (4) of the weather strip (1) is provided with a center core (61) having a center core body (63), and a side core (62) having a pair of side core bodies (66L, 66R). The base bottom portion (21) of the molded member (4) is made so that a center slit (33) having substantially an H-shape, a pair of slide slits (32L, 32R), and slit-less bridge portion (34). In order to open the molds, the side core (62) is slid, and the center core body (63) is thereby separated from the side core bodies (66L, 66R). The center core body (63) is thereby withdrawn from the weather strip (1), and the side core bodies (66L, 66R) thereafter are withdrawn.
