Abstract: A card carrier and presentation device that can assume a flat 2-dimensional configuration and be deformed into a 3-dimensional configuration. The flat configuration is used to carrier the card on a rack for vending. When the card and device is purchased, the card can be removed and inserted into the device after it is deformed into the 3-dimensional configuration. The card can become part of the 3-dimensional structure. The device can be transparent and have optional artwork on a surface that can optically interact with artwork on the card when the device is in the 3-dimensional configuration to create a combined visual effect.

Abstract: An efficient system and method for mounting an image composed of a plurality of subimages comprises a back panel onto which the subimages are mounted, and a transparent or translucent cover plate. In the preferred embodiment, the images are printed on borderless labels having a low-tack or low-aggressive type adhesive. The back panel and transparent cover plate are preferably dimensionally the same, and both may include aligned through-holes. The back panel may includes visual indicia such as score lines or alpha/numeric placement indicia to aid in mounting the subimages. The back panel and cover plate are preferably held together with a plurality of clips. An assembly method is also disclosed.

The protective device includes a clear or transparent top section for viewing the enclosed materials within a double walled device with a recloseable mechanism and a slip resistant and/or bend resistant back side. The recloseable section is sized to allow for the insertion of included background and framing pages which are pre-designed or supplied in colors and with decorating devices for child or adult to customize their display materials.

The mounting apparatus includes a coupler connectable to the accessory and having a tapered plug with a slot that extends inward from an outer wall of the plug. The support base has an aperture with an internal wall arrangement including an orifice wherein the aperture is dimensioned for reception of the plug. A keeper is slidably positioned within the internal cavity and has a finger that extends through the orifice and into the slot to retain the plug within the aperture.

Abstract: An improvement to a fishing pole is disclosed, the improvement including a multi-flex segment that separates a resilient rod of the fishing pole into lower and upper portions. Both the upper and lower portions are interconnected through the multi-flex segment. A rigid retractable sleeve is positionable in either a disengaged position away from the multi-flex segment or in an engaged position over the multi-flex segment. In the disengaged position, the sleeve is positioned so that it covers part of the lower section of the rod, but none of the multi-flex segment, thereby allowing the multi-flex segment to flex more freely during casting, for example. In its engaged position, however, the sleeve is positioned to cover the multi-flex segment completely, interconnecting in a rigid fashion the upper portion of the rod to the lower portion of the rod.

A lightweight bobber stop or string can be coupled above the bobber on the fishing line to set fishing depth. The flotation portion is made of an impact resistant material, including expanded polystyrene, Styrofoam or plastic of a variety of shapes and sizes. Slots and apertures can be added to the submersible main body tube to reduce or release trapped air when the bobber is cast upon the water. The flotation portion could also be made of other closed cell foams which are adapted for flotation. Cork or air filled plastic could also be used as flotation portion. The main body tube can be made of any impact resistant material, including, but not limited to clear or translucent plastic and crystalline polystyrene, polyethylene or plastic.

The top compartment can be opened to reveal several extendable tackle tray assemblies. The exterior surface of the top of the tackle box has a folding leg attached to it which can be used to support the tackle box when the tray assemblies are in an extended position. The top exterior surface also has a clip attached to it for holding a flashlight in position for the night fisherman. The handle, support leg, and clips connected to the top exterior surface pivot to a storage position which is flush with the surface to enable the top surface of the tackle box to be used comfortably as a seat.

Abstract: Disclosed are fuel compositions for internal combustion engines comprising as a predominant component organic distillates which exhibit suitable physical properties, and a low-sulfur fraction of an alkylated petroleum feedstock which, for example, consisted of material boiling between about 600° C. and about 345° C. More particularly, compositions of the invention comprise low-boiling, low-sulfur, blending components, advantageously obtained by a process for converting sulfur-containing organic compounds which are unwanted impurities, to higher boiling products by alkylation and removing the higher boiling products by fractional distillation. Products can be used directly as transportation fuels and/or blending components to provide fuels which are more friendly to the environment.

Abstract: A fuel composition comprising gasoline having a sulphur content of less than 10 ppm by weight and an aromatic content of less than 25% by volume, characterized in that said composition comprises at least 5% by volume of olefins and is substantially free of any ethers. The fuel composition so formed has reduced emissions and improved fuel economy. The emissions from such compositions can be further reduced by incorporating therein a small amount of ethanol.

Abstract: The present invention relates to water-in-hydrocarbon emulsion compositions comprising hydrocarbon fuel, water and alkoxylated branched alkyl alcohol surfactants for starting a reformer of a fuel cell system. A method to prepare a water in-hydrocarbon emulsion comprises preparing a first mixture of hydrocarbon-in-water emulsion and excess hydrocarbon, preparing a second mixture of water-in-hydrocarbon emulsion and excess water, adding the said first mixture of hydrocarbon-in-water emulsion and excess hydrocarbon to said second mixture of water-in-hydrocarbon emulsion and excess water and then mixing said first and second mixtures to form the water-in-hydrocarbon emulsion. The present invention utilizes substantially less surfactant and mixing times for the formation of the emulsion, a commercially important feature.

In one aspect of the invention, pulverized coal is burned as fuel in the presence of a copper ion catalyst/combustion aid. Corrosion is inhibited in these systems by the use of a blend of primary aminoalcohol such as 2-aminoethanol, tertiary aminoalcohol such as triethanol amine, and boric acid or water soluble salt form of the acid.

The sand/soil displacement structures having a weight per unit area that is less than the weight per unit area of the sand/soil mixture, thereby reducing the weight of the growth medium, while still providing a suitable sand/soil profile for plant growth. A building structure, a spectator pavilion and a modular plant growth system including such a PCRW plant growth medium, or a plurality thereof, are also disclosed as are methods of building a reduced weight green space on a roof of a building structure.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating a hydrogen containing product gas from a reactant stream comprising at least one reactant chosen from the set of reactants consisting of water, oxygen, carbon-monoxide, and a hydrocarbon fuel. The apparatus includes a heat storage bed in fluid communication with a reactor. The heat storage bed contains regenerative heat sink media. Hot flue gas produced from the oxidation of fuel and/or low-BTU gas, heats the heat sink media in the heating mode of operation of the apparatus. In a subsequent reforming mode of operation of the apparatus, the cold reactant stream is heated by the hot heat sink media. The heated reactant stream is then passed through suitable catalysts in the reactor to produce a hydrogen containing product gas. The heating and reforming modes of operation of the apparatus are repeated as long as required for the production of the hydrogen containing product gas.

The adjusting mechanism includes a truck member secured to the door and having moving structure engageable with the track. A connector connects the truck member to the door and includes cam structure for adjusting a position of the door relative to the truck member, thereby adjusting a position of the door relative to the track. In one arrangement, the truck member supports an adjuster bolt, and a connector includes an offset aperture that fits over the adjuster bolt. A nut is engageable with the adjuster bolt to secure the connector to the truck member. A position of the door in the track is adjusted by simply rotating the connector.

This assembly can include a housing coupled to a window frame, at least one screen disposed in the housing window frame, and at least one lock for selectively locking the screen to the window. An end attachment element can also be coupled to the screen wherein this attachment element can be designed to either stand up in a window to allow attachment to the lock or catch on the window or to lay flat to allow for inactivity and detachment of the screen from the window.

Abstract: A block window system that combines the security of a glass block window with the safety of a window that can be opened in case of emergency. An inner frame-carrying sash containing glass or acrylic blocks is mounted in a fixed outer, peripheral frame. The inner frame is inwardly pivotable with respect to the building, moving away from the outer frame opening to form at least a 90 degree angle, allowing quick egress through the window in case of fire or other emergency. When closed and locked, the inner frame is sealed in weather tight fashion inside the outer frame, maintaining the strength and security of a traditional glass block window.

The Universal Stud flange sides are mended with holes along it to allow wiring and pipes to be hung off it and still not endangering cutting them. In one embodiment, the locking member is not physically accessible from outside the channel by a human being but is formed from a ferromagnetic material that is moved within the channel by a magnetic force generated by a suitable strength magnetic key placed on the outside surface of the panel.
