Publication number: 20070046287Abstract: Certain inventive aspects provide local field imaging with high spatial, time and field resolution by using an array of Hall effect sensors that can be individually read out. The design combines semiconductor Hall sensors and switches that isolate the addressed Hall sensor from the rest of the array. The compact design allows for large and very dense Hall sensor arrays that can be read out in a straightforward way.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventors: Koen Vervaeke, Gustaaf Borghs, Victor Moshchalkov

Publication number: 20070046288Abstract: A hybrid-technology metal detector, using pulse-induction and sine-wave excitation of the transmitter coil alternately, in rapid succession. The energy stored in the transmitter coil, in the pulsed mode, is used to shock-excite a high-Q circuit formed by the coil and a parallel capacitor into oscillations in the sine-wave mode. The multiplicative action of the circuit Q causes high currents to flow in the transmitter coil, causing high fluxes to be impressed on the searched area, with increased sensitivity as a result. Using a linear coil-current ramp to assess and minimize the coupling between the transmitter and receiver coils permits effective separation of the reactive and resistive components of the target signals, making accurate identification of targets possible.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventor: Allan Westersten

Publication number: 20070046289Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for determining a property of construction material. According to one aspect, a material property gauge operable to determine a property of construction material is disclosed. The gauge may include an electromagnetic sensor operable to measure a response of construction material to an electromagnetic field. Further, the electromagnetic sensor may be operable to produce a signal representing the measured response by the construction material to the electromagnetic field. An acoustic detector may be operable to detect a response of the construction material to the acoustical energy. Further, the acoustic detector may be operable to produce a signal representing the detected response by the construction material to the acoustical energy. A material property calculation function may be configured to calculate a property value associated with the construction material based upon the signals produced by the electromagnetic sensor and the acoustic detector.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventor: Robert Troxler

Publication number: 20070046290Abstract: Phase-sensitive measurements are made by a resistivity imaging tool in a borehole having non-conductive mud in a conductive earth formation at a plurality of frequencies. From the phase sensitive measurements, the formation resistivity can be determined with higher sensitivity than is possible with the single frequency measurements. Tool standoff can also be determined from a knowledge of the mud resistivity and/or dielectric constant. Formation resistivity may also be determined when the effect of formation capacitance cannot be ignored.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2005Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventors: Alexandre Bespalov, Gregory Itskovich

Publication number: 20070046291Abstract: A resistivity imaging tool is used in a borehole having a conductive fluid. Second differences between axially spaced apart electrodes are used in the imaging. A calibration compensates for the effects of borehole rugosity.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2005Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventor: Gregory Itskovich

Publication number: 20070046292Abstract: A system and a method for estimating a state vector associated with a battery are provided. The method includes determining a time interval that the battery has been electrically decoupled from a load circuit. The time interval starts at a first time. The method further includes obtaining a first state vector associated with the battery from a memory. The first state vector is determined prior to the first time. The method further includes calculating a second predicted state vector associated with the battery based on the first state vector and the time interval.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2005Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventor: Gregory Plett

Publication number: 20070046293Abstract: A female connector (F) has a housing (10) with a front end and cavities (11) extend to the front end. Terminal fittings (40) are mounted in the cavities (11). A front wall (50) is mounted on the front end of the housing (10) and is formed with tab insertion holes (51) that can communicate with cavities (11). An operable surface (59A) is exposed at an end surface of the front wall (50). The front wall (50) can be moved from a full locking position to a partial locking position along the front end of the housing (10) by pushing this operable surface (59A). Portions of the end surface of the front wall (50) other than the operable surface (59A) are covered at least partly by an wall (26) of the housing (10) to limit movement of the front wall (50).Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Applicant: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Keiichi Nakamura, Ryotaro Ishikawa, Yutaka Noro, Yutaka Kobayashi, Hajime Kawase, Nobuhiro Suzuki
