Abstract: An anti-glare protection device for a welding mask includes a transmission control circuit for determining a darkening signal from a control signal, a welding activity detection circuit (6) for detecting a welding activity, based on the output of a first sensor circuit. The welding activity detection circuit is arranged to control, via an activation switch, whether either the darkening signal or a signal corresponding to an undarkened optical filter is input to a filter drive circuit. The filter drive circuit drives a controllable optical filter to a transmission value according to the signal input to the filter drive circuit. A manual input device allows a user to manually adjust a user selected signal. A second sensor circuit determines a sensed signal. A manually operable mode selection switch for selecting either, in a manual mode, the user selected signal or, in an automatic mode, the sensed signal to be used as the control signal to the transmission control circuit.

  • Publication number: 20070056076
Abstract: A one-piece garment with elastic bands threaded through the binding at the leg openings that allows for custom fitting of the garment. The contraction of the elastic bands through the cord-lock fastener creates a drawstring effect and provides a gathering force upon the garment, which is held securely in place with the cord-lock fastener so that the lower portion of the one-piece bodysuit thereby shortens in length and tightens around the legs to form a snug fit. Once the desired length is attained, the elastic bands and the cord-lock fastener are stored in the back flap of the crotch in a separate compartment, or pocket, held securely closed during wear with a strip of hook and loop fastener. The one-piece bodysuit can be expanded as needed by releasing the cord-lock fastener and pulling the elastic bands back through the cord-lock fastener to loosen the gathered fabric, thereby extending the crotch length of the garment and the diameter of the leg openings.

Abstract: The disclosure describes vapor permeable retroreflective material for use on protective garments. The material may be formed in a non-continuous pattern that provides a high-level of retroreflective brightness, yet also provides adequate permeability to prevent exposure to trapped thermal energy and heated moisture. The non-continuous retroreflective pattern may include retroreflective regions and non-retroreflective regions arranged such that thermal decay through the protective garment is not substantially decreased in the regions corresponding to the retroreflective material. Rather, vapor permeation and thermal decay through the garment may be substantially the same as if the retroreflective material was not present.

The front pillow (10) has an attaching mean (30a) attached to the left side and an attaching means (30b) attached right side or the front pillow (10). The nursing pillow (10) further comprises a webbing (45) with ends connected to the attaching means (30a) and (30b) A webbing (45) is laced around users back so that the ends of the webbing are over-passing the distal ends (13) and (13b) of the front pillow (10). The over-passing webbing is keeping distal end (13a) and (13b) down when a weight is placed on top of the front portion. The nursing pillow further comprises back support (32), supporting nursing woman's back against the seat.

Abstract: An expandable nursing pillow is provided together with a method of using same to support an infant during nursing. The expandable pillow can be provided in a compressed state. The expandable pillow is biased to expand from the compressed state to an expanded state. The expandable core in the expanded state occupies an expanded volume, and in the compressed state occupies a compressed volume, the compressed volume being substantially smaller than the expanded volume. When released from the compressed state, the expandable pillow automatically expands to the expanded state, in which state the pillow can support a nursing infant. After nursing, the expandable pillow can be returned to the compressed state.

Abstract: A pattern of airflow pathways among inflatable air cells in an inflatable air cell cushion that result in discrete, isolated inflation zones that allow the optimal immersion depth and support of a seated, user when fully inflated and maintain acceptable immersion depth and support of the seated user in the event of an air leak from one of the inflation zones. The airflow pathways are operably connected to a valve wherein opening of the valve places the normally isolated inflation zones in fluid communication and closing of the valve isolates the inflation zones.

Abstract: A water pad is disclosed to include a closed fluid impervious flexible envelope, which defines therein a closed chamber and has a pressure inside within the range from a negative to balance with the atmospheric pressure, a soft, elastic inner pad, which is accommodated in the closed chamber inside the closed fluid impervious flexible envelope, said inner pad has open cells, a fluid filled in the open cells in the inner pad, and a buffering space defined within the closed chamber inside the closed fluid impervious flexible envelope around the inner pad for receiving the fluid when the fluid is forced out of the inner pad upon a force of the external pressure. The water pad can be made in different forms for use as hot/cold compress pad, seat cushion, water mattress, medical mattress, warm-keeping pad, mouse pad, etc.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a stand alone integrated mattress. The system has a self-contained mattress unit, at least one inflatable bladder, at least one fluid source, at least one dispersion unit and at least one control unit. The self-contained mattress unit has at least a head section and a foot section, and is capable of converting from a horizontal position or an inclined position to a chair-like conformation. There is at least one inflatable bladder in each section of the self-contained mattress unit. There is also at least fluid source. In addition there is at least one dispersion unit in each section and each dispersion unit provides a fluid, obtained from the fluid source, to a conduit which directs the fluid into the inflatable bladder positioned in the section of the dispersion unit. The control system is positioned in one of the sections and interconnected to each dispersion unit to control the dispersion of the fluid to the inflatable bladders in each section.
