Abstract: A method of manufacturing a micro flux gate sensor that has a good electrical connection and can be easily manufactured. The method includes operations of forming a metal pattern including a lower coil portion of an excitation coil and a magnetic field detecting coil on a wafer, forming a first insulation layer to cover the meta pattern and forming viaholes to expose a certain portion of the metal pattern, applying an electrical signal through the metal pattern and plating the viaholes with a metal material to form a connection portion, forming a magnetic core on an upper portion of the first insulation layer, forming a second insulation layer to cover the magnetic core and forming an upper coil portion electrically connected to the connection portion to form the excitation coil and the magnetic field detecting coil, forming a third insulation layer to cover the upper coil portion, and removing a certain portion of the metal pattern to leave only the lower coil portion of the metal pattern.

Abstract: Disclosed are an RF MEMS switch and a fabrication method thereof. According to an embodiment the RF MEMS switch is actuated with a low voltage and a low consumption power by using a piezoelectric capacitor actuated by being converted to mechanical energy from electric energy when an electric field is applied to the piezoelectric capacitor. A cap substrate can be formed by using an etching method, a chemical mechanical polishing method, an electroplating method, etc., and the RF MEMS switch has a high reliability and a high yield.

Abstract: Thick film bond surfaces on a support structure, such as a ceramic substrate or an IC package substrate, tend to deform during processing. A personality kit having raised bosses engages with and compresses the bond surfaces, resulting in a flatter, wider bond surface having improved reflectivity. The personality kit is fit within a clamp that can be used as a stand-alone unit or integrated into an existing machine, such as a wire bonder.

Abstract: The invention provides an electronic component mounting apparatus in which a mounting time per electronic component can be reduced by starting a vertical movement motor and so on as early as possible. When a CPU judges that an interlock canceling condition where the movement of a suction nozzle in X and Y directions is to be completed is satisfied and judges that an interlock canceling condition where an electronic component is to be fed on an electronic component feeding unit is satisfied, the CPU outputs a signal indicating the satisfaction of the canceling conditions to a second motor controller. A CPU of the second motor controller that receives the signal indicating the satisfaction of the interlock canceling conditions about the movement of the suction nozzle in the X and Y directions and the feeding of the electronic component on the electronic component feeding unit immediately outputs a start signal to a nozzle vertical movement motor.

In the method, a lower electrode is formed on an insulating substrate. An amorphous dielectric film is formed on the lower electrode by low temperature film formation. Also, a metal seed layer is formed on the dielectric film by electroless plating. An upper electrode is formed on the metal seed layer by electrolytic plating.

Abstract: A method for mounting through an anisotropic conductive film defined as an adhesive sheet an electronic component on a printed circuit board (flexible board) provided with a wiring pattern. The anisotropic conductive film is bonded to an area of the flexible board to be mounted with the electronic component in a state where air intervening between the anisotropic conductive film and the flexible board is heated. Since the air confined between the anisotropic conductive film and the flexible board reduces in volume upon cooled down, occurrence of voids, exposure of the wiring pattern, or the like is avoided. Consequently, reliability can be enhanced without complicating the mounting.

Abstract: A method for forming a conductive circuit on a substantially non-conductive substrate includes indenting a major surface of a substrate with a plurality of features, plating the major surface and the indentations formed with a conductive layer, and removing a portion of the conductive layer leaving at least one of the plurality of the indentations filled with conductive material separated from at least one other of the plurality of the indentations filled with conductive material separated by non-conductive material. An electrical device formed includes a sheet of insulative material having grooves therein. The sheet of insulative material has a first planar surface, and a second planar surface. A conductive material is positioned within the grooves. The conductive material within the grooves forms electrical traces in the electrical device. The conductive material within the grooves fills the groove and includes a surface coplanar with at least one of the first planar surface or the second planar surface.

Abstract: Provided are connection structures for a microelectronic device and methods for forming the structure. A substrate is included having opposing surfaces and a plurality of holes extending through the surfaces. Also included is a plurality of electrically conductive posts. Each post extends from a base to a tip located within a corresponding hole of the substrate. An additional substrate may be provided such that the base of each post is located on a surface thereof. Additional electrically conductive posts may be provided having tips in corresponding holes of the additional substrate. Optionally, a dielectric material may be placed between the substrate and the posts.

The head cap is provided on the head cover and includes a centering member. The grass trimmer assembly includes a head member having a peripheral edge portion along which is mounted a cutting element. The grass trimmer assembly is driven through a drive shaft connected to a rotary tool at one end. Arranged within the head member is a retractable centering shaft. When the head member is placed over the head cover, the centering shaft is received by the centering member to center the grass trimmer about the head cover. The centering shaft retracts into the head member to allow the rotating cutting element to trim the area around the head cover.

The imbalance compensation element (10a-10e) is integral to another functional unit (12a-12d, 14e).

Abstract: What is new in this invention, it is the complete automation of the remote marking process. It is completely computer controlled and made possible by laser printer type marking/pointer equipment. Also, completely new is the concept of embedding digital information into a laser beam or other coherent information vector and attaching this way data/information to any object or place. New is the idea of using a discrete information vector not only as a beacon but also as a selector for the marking of more than one target objects. New is the idea of completely software controlled computerized digital marking of places or objects for closing motion control loops. No on-site human operators/soldiers needed. No position sensors needed anymore, nothing is bolted down, easy to reconfigure any environment. The invention is a major step in robotics and controls, improving considerably the eye-hand coordination of robots, making fully possible the action of the digital world on the real/physical world.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for examination of the straightness of diagnostic and therapeutic needles (11), of the kind which are, with a high grade of accuracy, adapted for selection of samples from, injection of therapeutic preparations into or mounting at target areas positioned deep in tissue. The device comprises a support (1) in which a needle (11) to be examined is rotatably mountable by means of at least one holding fixture (6), such that the needle being rotatable in the support for allowing examination of the needle in all directions. The invention also relates to a method for performing such an examination.

The tool provides for increased accuracy in measuring seal slot position such as turbine nozzle seal slot position.

The propane powered heater is located at the bottom of the housing so that as footballs pass by the heater they become warm and dry. A preferred embodiment includes a single football flash drying assembly that includes a ball rotator, a squeegee, and a forced hot air blower.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for drying substrates in single-wafer processing chambers by providing capillary material at those areas where the substrate contacts a rotatable support. The capillary material will draw in, by capillary force, any liquid that is trapped between the substrate and the support at the areas of contact, thus reducing the edge exclusion area of the substrate and increasing yield. The inventive apparatus, in one aspect, comprises: a rotatable support comprising a fixture for supporting a substrate in a substantially horizontal orientation by contacting only a perimeter region of a substrate; the fixture comprising one or more contact surfaces that contact and support the perimeter region of the substrate; and wherein the one or more contact surfaces comprise a capillary material.

Abstract: In a first aspect, a method of drying at least a portion of a substrate located within a fluid is provided. The method includes contacting an edge of the substrate that is located within the fluid with a pusher pin. The pusher pin has (a) a shaft portion; and (b) a tip portion having a knife edge of a width of 0.42 inches or less, the tip portion adapted to contact and support the substrate with the knife edge. The method further includes lifting the substrate from the fluid with the pusher pin; and exposing the substrate to a drying vapor as the substrate is lifted from the fluid. Abstract: A ventilated shoe comprising a flexible sole and shoe upper with a tongue, an air bladder in the sole heel and in the tongue, air intakes for each bladder, one-way check valves in each air intake, check valves between each bladder and each set of discharge vents in the toe area, one in the tongue and one in the sole, whereby movement of the user provides air intake and consequent air expulsion through the discharge vents to cool a user's foot.

Abstract: An article of apparel, such as a sock or a shoe, is disclosed as having a foot-supporting area for extending adjacent to a plantar surface of a foot. The foot-supporting area has various zones of differing thickness that attenuate forces upon the plantar surface to different degrees. The apparel may be manufactured through a process that includes utilizing a force mapping device to obtain data relating to forces upon the plantar surface of the foot. The sock is then formed to have zones of different thickness located to correspond with the areas of the plantar surface subjected to different magnitudes of forces.

The intermediate member preferably is formed of a foam such as polyurethane foam. The raised cushioning elements are of a height of approximately 6 millimeters above the upper surface of the intermediate member and are spaced approximately 10-30 millimeters from each other.

Abstract: The present invention is an improvement to the prior application Ser. No. 07/477,732 (abandoned) and U.S. Pat. No. 5,233,767 issued to the inventor in that it is a completely removable insole with an opening in the insole that houses shock absorption flexible material with carry strips that are trapped between an upper substrate and a lower substrate and can be moved from one pair of footwear to another.

The fixed strap has a first adhering surface. A separate cover strap for the shoe has a second adhering surface. The cover strap is formed with end tabs. The cover strap is removably connected to the first adhering surface of the fixed strap by contacting the first and second adhering surfaces. The end tabs of the cover strap fit in the tab indentations of the sole. The shoe has appearance of an upper, comprised of the fixed strap and the cover strap, secured to the sole. The cover strap is removable, however, and interchangeable with other cover straps, such as to change color, ornamentation and so forth of the upper of the shoe.

Abstract: A snap block structure for racing type bicycle shoes includes a hard snapping plate, and a soft anti-skid pad mounted on the snapping plate. Thus, the snap block structure has an anti-skid pad mounted on the snapping plate to provide an anti-skid effect when touching the ground. In two embodiments of the package includes first, second and third panels. The first and second panels are connected with one another along a common edge and are pivotable with respect to each other. Similarly, the third panel and the second panel are connected with one another along a common edge. On both embodiments the second and third panels have cutouts therein. The gift card is positioned in the package between the second and third panels thereby exposing a portion of a front surface of the gift card through the cutout in the third panel and exposing a portion of a rear surface of the gift card through the cutout in the second panel. In this way, the package at least partially conceals the gift card while exposing an identification marking thereon.

Abstract: A magnetic holder for letters appearing on a wall sign. A typical application would be for signs requiring halo glow lighting. With such a sign, the letter itself is unlit, and the wall is lit by soft lighting from behind the letter. Lighting could be accomplished with the use of a plurality of light emitting diodes (LED). The Present Invention comprises a mounting plate that is securely attached to the wall. The LED's, lighting circuitry, and magnets are securely fastened to the mounting plate. The letter is a hollow magnetic channel letter that is slightly larger than the mounting plate. The letter is positioned over the mounting plate, and is held in position by the magnets. The letter may be manually positioned on the plate for proper alignment.

Abstract: An assembly including a substantially transparent front panel and a partially translucent screen with a partially reflective front surface positioned to face a rear side of the front panel and spaced apart therefrom by a predetermined distance. A first image is defined on the rear side for reflection by the front surface to provide a virtual image thereof. A back wall is positioned behind the screen and displays a second image on an exposed surface thereof facing the rear surface of the screen. The exposed surface is spaced apart from the front surface of the screen by the predetermined distance. The virtual image is located substantially in the plane of the exposed surface so that the virtual image appears to be positioned behind the screen.

The sign comprises a corrugated plastic sheet or board having horizontal flutes and opposing faces, wherein the sheet is foldable to form a display panel spanning between the pair of structures and directed outward. The sheet has hinged panels on each end of the display panel that are foldable away from the first face of the display panel to form channels that receive a vertical structure. Each of the panels is delineated by a fold line running transverse to the flutes and extending across the entire sheet. Specifically, each fold line has spaced apart collinear scores cut through the first face and extending at least half the distance through the thickness of the flutes to facilitate folding. The foldable sign includes at least one fastener for coupling the hinged panels in the channel formation.
