Publication number: 20070095070Abstract: Conventional auxiliary power units (APUs) may experience over-temperature shutdowns when attempting to start them at high altitudes. Further, such conventional APUs may also experience overspeed conditions when a generator load is removed during on-speed operations. Publication number: 20070095102Abstract: The invention relates to satisfying the life necessity of a human being, in particular to jewellery pieces and other ornaments which are carried on a body and fixed by piercing. The inventive jewellery piece comprises an ornate element, a piercing pin provided with an end-head and a hinged joint for connecting the pin to the ornate element and male an female links, wherein the male link is mounted on the ornate element, the female link is mounted on the piercing pin and is embodied on the section mating therewith in such a way that the external surface thereof is convex and has a curved external shape whose size is greater than the size of the cross section of the piercing pin. Said invention increases the safety of use of jewellery pieces.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2006Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventor: Aleksandr Tormosov

Publication number: 20070095103Abstract: A jewelry piece, which includes a setting of at least two pear-shaped precious stones, placed adjacent to each other resembling a heart shape. The heart shaped setting is defined within a metallic frame having a convex front and a curved back. Two top pins and a bottom pin positioned on the front of the metallic frame secure the heart shaped setting. The jewelry piece is further decorated with more jewels paved on metallic frame along the periphery of the heart shaped setting. The metallic frame could also be made with a flat front and a flat back. And a setting pin assembly could be used to secure the heart shaped setting in place. The setting pin assembly may include three strips joined at a center point and running equally outwards in three different directions.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2005Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventor: Sing Lai

Publication number: 20070095104Abstract: A ring device made of metal; the ring device comprising: a ring body; two clamping pins extending from the ring body; a surface of the pin facing the pin having a first groove and a surface of the pin facing the pin having a second groove; the ends of the pins expanding outwards so as to form with a clamping portion; and a jewel placed in the clamping portion to be clamped by the two pins; edges of the jewel embedding into the first and second grooves to be fixed therein. In assembly, a fixture compresses the ring inwards so that the two pins expand outwards; then the jewel is placed in the clamping portion so that the edges of the jewel are received into the first and second grooves of the pins.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2005Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventor: Tse-An Wang

Publication number: 20070095105Abstract: A jewelry article in which one or more gem-stones of non-circular cross-sectional shape may be mounted within a metal framework forming part of the jewelry article. In each case, each gem-stone, including for example, square gem-stones, baguette gem-stones, and the like, may be readily and suitably retained within the metal framework by pavé mounting where portions of the metal are raised and effectively engage the gem-stone and slightly bend over the gem-stone to retentively hold the gem-stone in a cavity formed in the metal.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2005Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Harout Dagesian, Hovik Dagesian

Publication number: 20070095106Abstract: The present invention has the purpose of providing optical fiber base material having an even ratio of core to clad in the longitudinal direction thereof and method of easily manufacturing the same. In the method of manufacturing the optical fiber base material using the outside vapor deposition (OVD) process, a burner is relatively reciprocated against and along an initial material and deposits glass fine particles on the initial material. In the above method, the relative reciprocation is stopped at the returning positions in a certain period, preferably, in no less than 3 seconds and no more than 60 seconds.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2004Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventor: Makoto Yoshida

Publication number: 20070095107Abstract: An intermediate preform is formed in a process of manufacturing an optical fibre by forming a sol containing a glass precursor; pouring the sol in a mold containing a set of elongate elements; aging the sol to obtain a gel body; removing the set of elongate elements from the gel body to create a corresponding set of holes in the gel body; and removing the gel body from the mold. The method further provides imparting a motion of the set of elongate elements during aging of the sol to avoid adhesion of the gel to the elongate elements, the motion being preferably a rotation about the respective axes or an alternate translation along the respective axes. An apparatus with means for carrying out the method is also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2003Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Stefano Solinas, Franco Veronelli

Publication number: 20070095108Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for reducing the variability of stress levels in glass sheets (11) cut from a moving glass ribbon (13). The reductions in variability are achieved by constraining the edge regions (53,55) of the ribbon (13) from movement in a horizontal plane at at least one location below the location where a separating assembly (20) forms a separation line (47) in the ribbon (13). Sets of vertically arranged wheels (35) which engage the edge regions (53,55) of the ribbon (13) can be used to provide the horizontal constraint without compromising the central, quality area (51) of the glass ribbon (13).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2005Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Thomas Kirby, Shawn Markham

Publication number: 20070095109Abstract: A method for manufacturing knitted articles for forming items of clothing, such as body suits, sleeveless tops, undershirts, bras, underpants or the like, without lateral seams, with a circular knitting machine, that comprises at least one step for forming tabs (1a,1b,1c,1d,2a,2b,2c,2d,3a,3b), in which exclusively all or some of the needles that belong to at least one sector of the needle cylinder are moved so as to knit at at least one feed or drop of the machine, and the needle cylinder of the machine is actuated with an alternating rotary motion about its own axis, with an extent of oscillation that is sufficient to produce the transit, at the at least one cited feed, of all the needles of the at least one sector that are moved to knit at that feed, in order to make these needles form a preset number of rows of knitting.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2004Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Ettore Lonati, Fausto Lonati, Tiberio Lonati
