Abstract: A combination shipping container and vehicle is disclosed that may be handled and lifted in a similar fashion to a standard shipping container, and also may provide its own motive force for driving as a vehicle. The combination includes a vehicle frame that is generally the length and width of the standard shipping container. The frame provides a strong support framework for the combination. An engine means is supported by the frame, and a suspension means supports at least four wheels by the frame. A transmission means mounted to the frame transfers rotational energy from the engine means to at least two of the wheels through a transfer case and an axle. A driver's cab is fixed to and above the frame at a forward end thereof and includes driver controls for controlling the engine means, steering and braking of at least two of the wheels, and other related motor vehicle functions. A container portion is fixed to and above the frame at a rear end thereof.

Abstract: Power steering systems in which an electric motor which is fed by the on-board power system applies the assisting steering force are being used to an increasing degree in vehicles. However, the on-board power system is very heavily loaded by the growing number of electric drives and loads, for example, actuating motors, heating elements and air conditioning systems, which are integrated in the vehicles. Solutions with a relatively high on-board power system voltage of, for example, 42 volts may require extensive resetting of all the relevant electric components to this higher voltage. In order to be able to make available an electrical energy supply for the electric motor independently of the on-board power system, in a power steering system, the electric motor is controlled by an electronic control unit in order to act on the toothed rack of the steering system in a manner which supplies power assistance force.

Abstract: This invention provides a solution to increase the yield strength and fatigue strength of miniaturized springs, which can be fabricated in arrays with ultra-small pitches. It also discloses a solution to minimize adhesion of the contact pad materials to the spring tips upon repeated contacts without affecting the reliability of the miniaturized springs. In addition, the invention also presents a method to fabricate the springs that allow passage of relatively higher current without significantly degrading their lifetime.

Abstract: A two-way clutch has a rotational driving unit, a rotational driven unit, a roller interposed between the rotational driven unit and a collar, which is a fixed member and is not rotatable. A recess is formed in an inner peripheral surface of the collar, so that the roller is engaged with the recess. As a result, a locked condition between the rotational driven unit and the collar by means of the roller is not easily released. Therefore, the rotational driven unit is stably held at its locked position, even when a high vibration, a high load and/or a large pulsation is applied to the rotational driven unit.
