Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a capacitor of a semiconductor device and an apparatus therefor, dielectric layers are deposited using only a source gas without a reactant gas and a curing process is performed a single time. As a result, process simplification, yield improvement, and equipment simplification are achieved. In a stand-alone memory or an embedded memory, the step coverage is enhanced and oxidation of a storage node contact plug is prevented. Also, in an analog capacitor, an RF capacitor, or a high-voltage capacitor, which uses thicker dielectric layers than the stand-alone capacitor or the embedded capacitor, the manufacturing process is greatly simplified.

Abstract: A remotely-controlled sensing system is used to measure the alignment of a substrate holder, such as a wafer boat, in a batch reactor, such as a furnace, for processing semiconductor substrates. The sensing system is loaded into a slot in the substrate holder and the substrate holder is loaded into a process chamber of the reactor, to allow measurements to be taken while the substrate holder is sealed inside the reactor. The sensing system includes a transceiver to communicate with a controller and a data collection unit outside the process chamber. The sensing system also includes a distance sensor to measure the distance from the sensor to the wall of the process chamber. The sensor is rotated to obtain measurements over a 360° sweep of the process chamber. Abstract: Nano-technology is an emerging and intensely competitive field. There are a number of companies that work mainly in the development of various Nano-technology areas. One area that has not received too much emphasis is that of specialized equipment for Nano-technology. Nanoinstruments is a company working to rectify this deficiency in the field of nano-material deposition, especially in Carbon Nanotube and Nanowire growth. A number of innovations disclosed include the use of a low thermal mass heating unit that allows fast changes in temperature of the growth sample while providing sufficient thermal stability, uniformity and electrical isolation, a novel shower head design for providing uniform gas flow while eliminating thermal and plasma decomposition of feed stock at the nozzle, a pulsed voltage waveform that eliminates charging of substrate on which the growth has to take place, and the use of a conductive grid over insulating substrates to achieve uniform plasma over the growth surface.

Abstract: This invention is a process for producing superior animal litter and floor coverings for human shelters from citrus peels and a method of removing waste citrus peels from a citrus juice processing plant in a cost-efficient, recyclable, environmentally-sound manner. Because the process only uses one natural and recyclable product, it avoids the problems associated with other processes which use non-recyclable products, require more than one substance to be mixed together, or rely upon wood or other potentially sharp objects which can injure the animal or pet. Instead, this process takes citrus peels, a waste product so therefore one which is inexpensive and readily available, and processes it in an assembly line fashion with advanced machinery and processing techniques, such that it results in a naturally rounded object with no sharp ends or edges, which absorbs wetness from urine and feces and successfully masks the smell at the same time.

Abstract: A parallel guide portion as an integral structure of a sprocket and a vane, as well as a slant guide portion, are arranged alternately on the same circumference, with circumferential gaps being formed between said guide portion and the parallel guide portion, said guide portion having a shape such that the circumferential gaps become smaller in one axial direction of a cam shaft. Wedge members are disposed in the circumferential gaps respectively and are moved in one axial direction to fill up the circumferential gaps, thereby fixing the phase between the sprocket and the vane into a locked state. The wedge angle of each wedge member is set sufficiently small and, by utilizing varying torques acting on the cam shaft, said members are each moved and locked in one axial direction with a spring. Said members are actuated in an opposite axial direction with oil pressure to release the locked state, thereby permitting a phase angle control.

Abstract: An intake port for a 4-cycle engine includes an intake port base integrally formed with a cylinder head, and an intake port forming member that forms an intake port together with the intake port base. The area of the cross section of the intake port orthogonal to a centerline of the intake port is substantially uniform from an open intake side thereof toward a combustion chamber. The angle made by the centerline of the intake port and an intake valve shaft is larger than 90° from a viewpoint of the intake valve. Thereby, the 4-cycle engine can output high power with the intake port shape, as formed with above mentioned configuration, that reduces intake resistance and that uses simple design molds. More specifically, the engine can reliably prevent condensed fuel from remaining in the intake port to avoid incomplete combustion of gas.

Abstract: A reciprocating-piston internal combustion engine has a crank drive and a transmission lever indirectly coupled with the piston and intersecting the cylinder axis. The lever is articulated onto the crank drive's connecting rod and onto an adjustable bearing guided in the cylinder block. For greater variation of the translation of movements between crank drive and piston, the pulling and pushing rod connected with the piston has a guide at its end facing the transmission lever. The guide is preferably a pivotally-mounted slide shoe that engages into a guide extending along the transmission lever. The transmission lever is pivotally connected with the crankshaft connecting rod and connected with a setting drive for variably setting the articulation of the pulling and pushing rod on the transmission lever. A guide lever pivotally connected with the pulling and pushing rod and pivotally articulated onto the cylinder block guides the pulling and pushing rod.

Abstract: A pre-combustion chamber for an engine is made more simply removable from the cylinder head by integrating the chamber design and not threading the assembly to the head. The assembly is provided as an integrated design using a seal that helps dissipate heat from the spark plug and a cover that is held down by flange bolts that extend into threaded bores into the head in a location more removed from the heat generated in the chamber. As a result the chamber is more simply installed and removed without damage to the head.
