Patent number: 7255721Abstract: For a reforming device that generates fuel gas for fuel cells by decomposing hydrocarbon compounds such as natural gas and then using a hydrogen separation composite to selectively transmit hydrogen, a hydrogen separation composite having the following structure is used. A porous support medium made of ceramics, etc. is formed, and a hydrogen separation metal is supported in the pores so as to fill the inside of the support medium. It is also possible to support a reforming catalyst. By doing this, it is possible to increase the area at which the hydrogen separation metal contacts gas, so the hydrogen transmission performance is increased. Furthermore, to prevent raw material gas leaks due to pin holes, high pressure gas is supplied to the hydrogen extraction side, and the total pressure is made higher than the pressure on the raw material gas supply side without making the hydrogen partial pressure higher.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2000Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiromichi Sato, Satoshi Iguchi, Toshihide Nakata, Satoshi Aoyama

Patent number: 7255755Abstract: A cast stainless steel alloy and articles formed therefrom containing about 0.5 wt. % to about 10 wt. % manganese, 0.02 wt. % to 0.50 wt. % N, and less than 0.15 wt. % sulfur provides high temperature strength both in the matrix and at the grain boundaries without reducing ductility due to cracking along boundaries with continuous or nearly-continuous carbides. Alloys of the present invention also have increased nitrogen solubility thereby enhancing strength at all temperatures because nitride precipitates or nitrogen porosity during casting are not observed. The solubility of nitrogen is dramatically enhanced by the presence of manganese, which also retains or improves the solubility of carbon thereby providing additional solid solution strengthening due to the presence of manganese and nitrogen, and combined carbon. Such solution strengthening enhances the high temperature precipitation-strengthening benefits of fine dispersions of NbC.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2002Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Philip J. The guide member is affixed to the stationary support base, and includes a ramp, disposed at an angle to the horizontal. The push bar is slidably movable in relation to the support base. The applicator includes a back plate which is operatively pivotally attached to the push bar at a pivot connection. The lower part of the applicator has a post attached thereto, which rides along the ramp of the guide member. Linear inward movement of the push bar, from a first position to a second position thereof, moves the applicator post up the ramp of the guide member, pivoting the applicator around the pivot connection, and causing the back plate to move from a substantially horizontal orientation to a substantially vertical orientation thereof.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2004Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Assignee: Honeywell International, Inc.Inventors: Gary J. Patent number: 7255761Abstract: Disclosed herein is a composite comprising at least one heat shrinkable adhesive layer stitch-bonded with yarns, which shrink less than the adhesive layer or do not shrink, when the adhesive layer is exposed to heat. The stitch-bonded yarns form loops upstanding from the shrunk adhesive layer and the loops create a textured surface on the composite, and the composite is substantially inelastic after the adhesive layer is shrunk. The composite may further comprise at least one fibrous layer stitch-bonded to the shrinkable adhesive layer, and the fibrous layer is less shrinkable than the adhesive layer or is substantially non-shrinkable.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2005Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Assignee: DZS, LLCInventor: Dimitri Peter Zafiroglu

Patent number: 7255767Abstract: A hand-held adhesive tape dispenser/applicator comprising a housing shell (1) including a hub (2) for mounting adhesive tape rolls, a tape discharge opening (13) and a lever mechanism (3). The lever mechanism (3) comprising pivotally mounted levers actuated by movement of the dispenser housing during the tape application and cutting process providing means for locking the tape whilst cutting, preventing roll back of tape end and an anti-locking function enabling smooth passage of tape whilst dispensing. Dispensing tape passes over a tape guide applicator (4), when a requisite length of tape is applied a user tilts the housing shell (1) engaging a cutter lever (6) with the tape actuating a tape depressor lever (5) which depresses and adheres a section of tape to the housing shell (1). As tape is severed a new tape end remains adhered until released by the next application. When inverted, the dispenser/applicator is freestanding and dispenses tape in desktop mode.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2006Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Inventors: Kieran A. Rice, Elizabeth J. Rice

Patent number: 7255769Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for splicing successive rolls of webmaterial to one endless web, in such way that during subsequent coating of the web, coating defects near the splices are reduced, preferably prevented. To that end at least part of the trailing edge of the splicing tape used to splice the succeeding webs, is left free of adhesive. Because of this, air, which during said coating process gets entrapped behind the splice, between the coating layer and the web, can dissipate between the adhesive-free tape edge and the underlying web surface, thus reducing or preventing the formation of air bubbles and subsequent coating defects. The possible reoccurrence of discontinuity coating defects at very high coating speeds can be reduced or prevented by subjecting the surface of the web to be coated to an electrostatic charge before applying the coating.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2002Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Assignee: Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V.Inventors: Anton van der Pluym, Fuyuhiko Mori, Gerard van Oosterbaan, Tinus van Riel
