Abstract: A sidewalk tile with snow-removal function is stably obtained that is capable of being heated to a desired temperature, while at the same time sufficiently maintaining strength. A heat-generating concrete body is obtained by mixing particle-form (granular) or powder-form carbon material with un-hardened concrete at a specified ratio, and then pressing it with a high-pressure press at a pressure of approximately 980 kN to remove moisture and to form it into a tile shape. A pair of electrodes are embedded in end sections on both ends in the width direction of the heat-generating concrete body. The outer surfaces of the heat-generating concrete body are covered with an insulation-coating layer. One side and the circumference of the heat-generating concrete body are covered with un-hardened concrete and formed into a single tile shape by pressing with a high-pressure press to obtain a sidewalk tile with the snow-removal function.

Abstract: A map of site-specific amounts of a soil nutrient, to be applied in fertilizer to an agricultural field is created using a map of site-specific amounts of the soil nutrient needed to produce the maximum possible yield at the particular site. Subtracted from the site-specific amounts of nutrient needed are site-specific amounts of the nutrient currently existing in the field, thus producing the map of site-specific nutrient amounts to be added. The nutrient amounts may be added to the soil using the map and conventional variable-rate fertilizer application methods. Abstract: A push bar serves to nudge or urge cows to leave a milking parlor and move to an exit alley. The push bar is mounted on extendible support members, which may have an inner tube and an outer tube, and which is mounted by a journal onto an overhead pivot. There is one air cylinder to rotate the assembly, and additional air cylinders to extend and retract the support members. A programmed controller ensures that the push tube travels in a generally straight, horizontal path to push the cows out, and then lifts the push tube so it is over the cows' heads on the return.

The feeder assembly includes first and second fill ports for receiving feed from the feed supply conduit and for providing feed onto a base portion of the pan member. Each fill port provides feed to a separate portion of the base portion of the elongated pan member. The fill ports are defined through an outer grill member having an elongated rim member which is operatively associated with the pan member. First and second drop tube members are associated with the first and second fill ports to direct feed flowing through the fill ports through first and second lower feed gates and onto the pan member. The drop tube members may have brood gates provided therethrough for providing a raised level of feed in the pan member.

Abstract: A feeder assembly is used in a feed distribution system having a feed supply conduit. The feeder assembly includes a pan member, which is preferably elongated in configuration, in a shape of two intersecting circles. The feeder assembly also includes at least one fill port for receiving feed from the feed supply conduit and for providing feed onto a base portion of the pan member. The at least one fill port is defined through an outer grill member which is operatively associated with the pan member. Like the pan member, the outer grill member has a rim member which is preferably elongated in configuration, in a shape of two intersecting circles. The outer grill member defines a plurality of apertures therethrough through which birds can eat the feed presented on the base portion of the pan member.

The outer grill defines a plurality of apertures therethrough through which birds can eat the feed presented on the pan. First and second inner grills can be rotated to partially mask the apertures through the outer grill in order to effectively change the width of the apertures. The inner grills are connected to one another by interlocking fingers such that rotation of one of the inner grills causes rotation of the other inner grill in the opposite direction. The inner grills are rotated by a dial member which is secured to the outer grill and which, upon rotation thereof between predetermined positions, causes rotation of the one inner grill, which in turn causes rotation of the other inner grill in the opposite direction.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hatching apparatus for learners enabling observation of a hatching process of a hatching egg. The hatching apparatus for learners is provided with a hatching chamber that defines a hatching space suitable for accommodation of a hatching egg and has a viewing window. As for a hatching condition in the hatching chamber, temperature and humidity in the hatching chamber are controlled by introducing air heated by a heater and moisture generated through vaporization of water by means of a fan into the hatching chamber. The hatching egg seated in the hatching chamber is turned by an egg-turning device. The egg-turning device, the heater and the fan are controlled by a control unit, so that the temperature and humidity in the hatching chamber can be consistently maintained and the hatching egg can be periodically turned.

Its top includes an optionally transparent roof which is not apertured so that it deflects rain or other elements. Because the patio walls are substantially apertured, the pet is able to enjoy a near outdoor experience while at the same time the HVAC conditions within the room and dwelling are not significantly affected because the outdoor enclosure is sealed off by multiply-flapped corridor.

The cupped seat portion is apertured, as with an opening. The hatchling is seated on the handheld, hatchling holder such that the cupped seat portion provides support to portions of the hatchling's perineal area that surrounds the alimentary vent (cloaca) as the alimentary vent is situated for exposure by the opening. The holder and opening facilitates not only welfare-friendly discharge of the meconium in the hatchling's alimentary vent through the opening but also welfare-friendly examination of the distended innards of the vent for markers of gender. The quality of the meconium discharge (or absence thereof) also facilitates determining whether the hatchling exceeds a hydration standard or not.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pressure control isolation tank for a closed loop heating system. A diaphragm within the tank separates heating system fluid from non-system fluid. The heating system fluid is provided under constant pressure, typically 12 PSI. Usually the non-system fluid is service water or clean water flowing through a pressure reducing valve. As the heating system loses system fluid through tiny leaks, and also loses air through vents, the non-system fluid causes the diaphragm to displace the volume lost by the leaked heating system fluid and leaked air. Thus, the heating system fluid is maintained at a constant pressure.
