Abstract: The invention concerns a hydraulic axial piston machine (1) with a cylinder body (3), at least one piston (9) to be axially displaceable in the cylinder body (3), said piston (9) resting on a swash plate (13) by way of a slide shoe (11), with a pressure plate (14) loading the slide shoe (11) in the direction of the swash plate (13), and a hold-down part (16), which bears with a contact surface (18) on a counter surface (20) of the pressure plate(14) facing away from the swash plate (13). It is endeavoured to operate the machine with as little wear as possible. For this purpose, it is ensured that the contact surface (18) is formed by a circumferential surface section of a cone, whose peak (19) is directed towards the swash plate (13).

Abstract: The hydraulic cylinder assembly of the present invention provides an enlarged barrel and a compressible locking ring that secure a rod gland in the rod end of the cylinder. The tapered barrel prevents the rod gland from sliding into the cylinder and the locking ring seated in an annular groove prevents the rod gland from sliding out of the cylinder. A small hole in the cylinder barrel is provided through which the round ring may be punched out of the annular groove and easily removed with a screwdriver or pick. These features allow the hydraulic cylinder to be easily assembled and disassembled without compression tools and eliminate the need for threaded components, welds or bolts. The enlarged rod end of the cylinder barrel also provides a smooth cylinder barrel that is elegant in appearance and more easily manufactured, repaired and maintained.

Abstract: A method of providing a linear drive with an axially play-free entrainment connection between at least one linearly travelling rod (5) and a guide unit able to be moved parallel thereto. Between a coupling member (26), projecting to the fore of the rod (5), of the guide unit and the terminal face (27) of the rod (5) adhesive (34) is applied and then the components are so screwed together that athwart the direction of displacement relative motion is still possible. Then the entire unit is shifted between its two terminal positions even prior to curing of the adhesive (34), the components then aligning themselves. After the adhesive is cured the screw connection is finally drawn tight.

Abstract: An apparatus for separating water vapor from a water-vapor containing gas mixture is described. The apparatus may include a mixed ion conducting membrane having at least a portion of one surface exposed to the water-vapor containing gas mixture and at least a portion of a second surface, that is opposite the first surface, that is exposed to a second gas mixture with a lower partial pressure of water vapor. The membrane may include at least one non-porous, gas-impermeable, solid material that can simultaneously conduct oxygen ions and protons. At least some of the water vapor from the water-vapor containing gas mixture is selectively transported through the membrane to the second gas mixture.
