  • Patent number: 7267203
Abstract: In an elevator system having an elevator control unit and an atmospheric pressure control unit, an elevator operation state monitor monitors the operation state of the elevator control unit, and an atmospheric pressure control state monitor monitors the operation state of the atmospheric pressure control unit. When a trouble in the elevator operation or atmospheric pressure control is detected, a minor/major trouble judgment unit judges the seriousness level of the trouble, and a rescue mode selector selects a rescue mode. In this case, when the atmospheric pressure control is abnormal, it is judged a major trouble, and a mode to ensure ventilation in an elevator car is selected. This enhances the safety in a highly airtight elevator such as a superhigh-speed high-rise elevator.

  • Patent number: 7267204
Abstract: In a disk brake of a vehicle, a caliper device which supports pads that can be pressed against a brake disk rotating with a wheel and which exerts a force to press the pads against the brake disk, is supported on a support member that supports an axle of the wheel. A recess that allows an entire thickness of the pad to be always visually identified from outside, is provided in a portion of a member that constitutes the caliper device, the portion covering the pad from outside. Thus, a degree of freedom in positioning of the caliper device is increased in checking a remaining amount of a pad.

The support rod is engageable with the anchor plate such that the support rod becomes aligned along a vertical plane while extending away from the anchor plate. The apparatus further includes a locking wedge having an inverted conical shape and an elongated sleeve formed therein for attaching to the support rod. The locking wedge engages the filter such that the filter becomes positioned between the locking wedge and the anchor plate. The locking wedge includes threadably adjustable spherical gripping members.
