Server, communication device, communication system and internet protocol address notification method
Patent number: 7269165Abstract: A server stores a table of correspondence between phone numbers and dynamic addresses of an internet protocol assigned or to be assigned to cellular phones. When the server is notified of a phone number of a receiving cellular phone by a transmitting cellular phone, it searches the table to obtain the dynamic address corresponding to the phone number of the receiving cellular phone. The server then notifies the transmitting cellular phone of the obtained dynamic address. The transmitting cellular phone can thus identify the dynamic address assigned or to be assigned to the receiving cellular phone. Thus, the transmitting cellular phone is enables to communicate with the receiving cellular phone through the internet protocol.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2002Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: DENSO CorporationInventor: Shuji Karino -

Patent number: 7269176Abstract: In a communications system, especially an SDH DCN system in which most network elements (NEs) function as intermediate systems (ISs) rather than end systems (ESs), it is made possible to reduce the constraints on the DCN topology posed by the IS-IS routing protocol by configuring the gateway element (GNE) and the NEs directly connected to it in such a way that the non-gateway NEs appear as ESs to the rest of the system. This is achieved by setting up on each of the digital communication channels (DCCs) of the GNE manual end-system adjacencies for all the NEs reachable through that DCC; setting the “external domain” attribute of these DCCs to TRUE and setting the same attributes of the corresponding DCCs of those NEs which are immediate neighbors of the GNE likewise TRUE; and supplying those DCCs with length-zero reachable address prefixes (RAPs) and configuring the neighbor NEs as level 2 Intermediate Systems.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2000Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: Marconi Communications S.p.A.Inventor: Mario Molinari

Patent number: 7269177Abstract: A logical star architecture imposed on an underlying non-star network, for example a Virtual Path Ring (VPR), enhances a mesh protocol with an automatic method for Virtual Path ID (VPI) generation. The VPIs are used by the mesh protocol's inherent routing function to effect automatic configuration at installation, automatic reconfiguration at node updates, and automatic reconfiguration for protection switching. The imposition of the logical star architecture on a VPR reduces node-to-node switching costs (e.g., delay, as well as memory and processing costs) since all nodes in a logical star topology are at most two logical hops away. The logical star also conserves virtual path address space relative to a fully configured ring. Additionally, the imposition of the logical star architecture allows existing star functions to be deployed on the underlying network. Finally, when the underlying architecture is a ring, the protection advantages of ring networks can be preserved.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2002Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: Lucent Technologies Inc.Inventor: Albert D. Patent number: 7269200Abstract: A frequency hopping communication device has a memory memorizing modulation coefficients related to hopping frequencies of a carrier wave. Whenever a following hopping frequency is decided, a CPU reads out one of the modulation coefficients on the basis of the following hopping frequency from the memory and supplies it to a Gaussian filter. The Gaussian filter stores the read out modulation coefficient in a register and multiplies transmission data signal supplied thereto by the read out modulation coefficient stored in the register to produce a modulation signal. Thus, the modulation signal has voltage amplitude depending on the carrier frequency. A voltage controlled oscillator modulates the carrier wave having the following hopping frequency by the use of the modulation signal from the Gaussian filter and produces a transmission signal. Therefore, the transmission signal has an approximately uniform frequency deviation regardless of the carrier frequency.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2003Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Katsuhito Igarashi

Patent number: 7269201Abstract: Circuits are provided for transmitted reference spread spectrum systems using a noise-like digital sequence with delayed replica. The circuits produce the digital spreading sequences at extremely high speed, and are capable of providing a great degree of signal spreading. A first embodiment is composed of a low speed section and a high-speed section. This embodiment allows for greater power efficiency without sacrificing sequence speed. In addition, the embodiment also allows shaping of the spectrum of the high-speed digital sequence. Further, this embodiment generates an m-sequence and its near delay by storing decimated pieces of the entire m-sequence over a plurality of end-around circulating shift registers or so-called ring counters. The ring counters can be run at low speed and there is no exclusive-oring operation. A time-delayed transmitted reference spread spectrum transmitter is provided using digital noise generators that are capable of very high speed operation.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2003Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: John Erik Hershey, Harold Woodruff Tomlinson, Jr., Kenneth Brakeley Welles II

Patent number: 7269203Abstract: A receiver for the CDMA system, in order to reduce a power consumption during a suspension period of intermittent receiving operation, monitors a suspension period t1 by means of a low-power timer 51 so that a VC-TCXO 1, a reference signal group generation unit 2 and a receiving unit 3 are turned off and a modem unit 4 is set to a sleep state. Upon resumption of receiving operation, a high-accuracy timer 44 is supplied with a start (d) to require counting of time t3 and a part of a received signal is stored. A PN code phase of stored data is calculated in a PN code phase calculator 46 during a period t3 to obtain an indication value i for a phase deviation. State vectors for short code and long code and further a reception time t4 are calculated on the basis of the indication value i to be set.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2005Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Shigeyuki Sudo, Osamu Hasegawa, Toshiya Eguchi

Patent number: 7269204Abstract: A path detector (100) provides statistics of rates at which preamble signals are detected within a predetermined time period. For a delay amount segment where the detection rate is low, the sampling rate of correlation value calculation is reduced, and the number of correlator sets used for the preamble signal detection is reduced. Correlator sets made available by that reduction are used to detect message signal paths, thereby raising the operating rate of the RAKE receivers of a decoder (200) to improve the throughput of the message signals. Further, the statistics of the rates of preamble signal detections are periodically updated, and when the preamble signal detection rate of the delay amount segment where the sampling rate was reduced becomes higher, the number of the correlator sets used for the preamble signal detection is increased so as to return the sampling rate to its original value.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2003Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Suguru Nakada

Patent number: 7269205Abstract: An exemplary receiver demodulates an amplitude modulated data signal received in association with a reference signal, wherein a transmit power of the data signal is unknown to the receiver circuit, by determining a scaling factor based on the reference and data signals. Thus, an exemplary receiver estimates scaling factors indicative of the received amplitude of a data channel signal that is transmitted at a power different from that of the reference channel being used to estimate the radio channel properties. The scaling factor may be used to correct the amplitude of information symbols recovered from a received data signal such that they are moved closer in amplitude to intended points within an amplitude modulation constellation and/or to scale nominal points in a reference constellation used in demodulating the received symbols.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2003Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Yi-Pin Eric Wang

Patent number: 7269206Abstract: Within a synchronization stage, m candidates are selected according to secondary correlation results that are generated in a standard code group and slot number identification process. Each candidate contains a respective code group number and slot number, and m is greater than 1. A primary scrambling code correlation process is performed with each candidate to obtain a corresponding primary correlation result for an associated primary scrambling code number. The primary scrambling code correlation process for each candidate is performed over x slots, where x is determined by the ratio f/m, f being the number of slots per frame, and x being less than f. Within integer constraints, x is ideally f/m. The respective code group number, slot number and primary scrambling code number of the candidate having the greatest primary correlation result are then selected as a synchronization result.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2003Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: Benq CorporationInventors: Sheng-Jie Chen, Yi-Yuan Tsai

Patent number: 7269211Abstract: A hybrid circuit within a full-duplex transceiver transmits an outgoing signal outward on a communication channel at the same time it receives an incoming signal arriving via the communication channel, and the outgoing and incoming signals sum to form a combined signal. The hybrid circuit generates both the outgoing signal and a replica of the outgoing signal in response to an input signal, and then subtracts the replica from the combined signal in producing a received signal. The received signal includes a component derived from the incoming signal and a residual echo component having peaks resulting from a phase difference between the outgoing signal and its replica. The transceiver adjustably delays the input signal so that the residual echo component peaks occur at times other then when the received signal is being digitized, thereby minimizing the influence of the echo component peaks on the data sequence.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2006Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.Inventors: Chia-Liang Lin, Wen-Juh Kang
