Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a surface-modifying machine, wherein information on the desired condition and on the actual condition of ground to be prepared is provided and is used to derive control statements for the machine based on a comparison of the desired and the actual condition. The information on the actual condition is represented by a point cloud as a spatial distribution of discrete surface points. In order to derive control statements, at least two surface points each from the point cloud are used for every horizontal position so that non-differentiated information can be derived that for example also allow to identify various planes.

Abstract: This invention relates to a bucket (12) for a mechanical shovel (10). The bucket has a hollow body (16) provided with an inlet (14) for receiving material into its interior and an outlet (15) for discharging material therefrom. A door (18) is secured to the body and is movable between a closed condition in which it closes the outlet, and an open condition in which it permits discharge under gravity of material from the bucket. A buffering device in the form of a working fluid containing telescopically extensible and retractable piston-and-cylinder assembly (22) is operatively connected between the body and the door of the bucket for buffering movement of the door relative to the body.

Abstract: A garment de-wrinkling device (1) comprises an enclosure (10) for moistening garments (20). An ironing board (40) and an adjacent standby area (41), which are both permeable to steam, are arranged on top of the enclosure (10). During operation of the device (1), the ironing board (40) and a steam iron (30) are used to iron garments (20) which have first been moistened inside the enclosure (10). In the process, steam released by the iron (30) penetrates the garments (20) and enters the enclosure (10) through the ironing board (40). In this way, both the garments (20) on the ironing board (40) and those inside the enclosure (10) are treated by means of steam that is released by the iron (30), and steam is used in an efficient manner. A pressed look is obtained in that the garments (20) are subjected to a moistening process and a subsequent steam ironing process.

Abstract: A display stand, including a flexible and/or segmented blank of material having a first surface, a second surface and a perimeter there between, wherein selected portions of the blank include an adhesive, and preferably a cohesive, selectively applied to areas of the blank to create attachment zones. The attachment zones may be established on selected portions of the first surface, on the entire area of the first surface, or on areas in addition to the first surface. In preferred embodiments, attachment zones are established at opposing ends of the material wherein a self-sustaining display having depth can be achieved by contacting the two attachment zones. Graphics or indicia can be imprinted on the blank of material to further increase the utility of the display stand.

Abstract: Disclosed is a pet tag holder, namely a device for holding a pet tag on a pet collar. The pet tag holder comprises a planar, inverted “U-shaped” mounting member, for connection to a pet collar, and the mounting member further has two downwardly positioned extension arms in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the mounting member. One of the arms further comprises a post supported on a first mounting member and the other arm comprises a snap fit receptacle for the post on a second mounting member. One arm is fixed in space and the other arm is hinged to permit opening and closing of the post and receptacle. One or more pet tags can be held on the post, and secured to the tag holder when the post is engaged with the snap fit receptacle, the opening of the hinged arm also permits easy movement of the tag holder from one pet collar to another.

Abstract: A flexible mounting system for supporting a sign from a rigid structure for minimizing damage that might result from an impact force on the sign is disclosed. The flexible mounting system includes a flexible sign mount having a support bracket secured to a sign and a stationary bracket releasably securable to a rigid structure such a bollard. A flex element can be interposed between the support bracket and the stationary bracket to permit the sign to translate and rotate relative to the rigid support when the sign is subjected to an impact load.

The warning device includes a container for storage therein, at least one panel attached to the container, and at least one fastener that is adapted to allow repeated engagement and disengagement of the panels to and from the container and each other.

Abstract: A modified toggle link assembly for a lever action rifle including a modified slide channel that, in at least one embodiment, produces a shorter lever stroke and smoother lever cycle. The modified toggle link may also include a modified profile which defines a hump on an upper surface of the rearward link of the toggle link and a corresponding recess on the forward link. This hump allows for the modified geometry of the slide channel. The slide channel may be a modified straight path or a compound, or non-linear path.

The remote-controlled unit has a button, a wireless transmitting module and a wireless receiving module, the wireless transmitting module is electrically connected to the button and the wireless receiving module is electrically connected to the aiming unit. When the button is pressed, a signal is transmitted from the wireless transmitting module and received by the wireless receiving module to actuate the aiming unit.

The weapon aiming system may utilize visible and infrared aim lasers that are coaligned to simplify boresighting of the weapon and to simplify target acquisition. A method is also provided for attaching a landing net to the back panel of a fishing garment, which includes the steps of removably coupling the handle of the landing net to the top section of the garment; and removably coupling the landing net to the middle section of the garment.

Abstract: A solid fuel gasification system of the present invention enables omission of the char recycling means and enables production of syngas having a high calorific value and containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide as its main components. The gasification system has a pyrolysis area isolated from supply of air; a char combustion area producing a high temperature combustion gas by combustion of char of the pyrolysis area; a dust remover cleaning the combustion gas; combustion means for reheating the cleaned combustion gas to raise its temperature; and a steam heater for heating steam up to a high temperature by heat exchange between the combustion gas and the steam. The gasification system pyrolyzes the solid fuel with use of the high temperature steam so that syngas is produced, which contains hydrogen and carbon monoxide as its main components.

The device includes a low frequency vibration device for generating low frequency vibration wave to supply vibration energy to compressed air. The contact between the compressed air and organic or inorganic oil liquid fuel with a dry point between 50° C. and 90° C. such as mixed hexane disposed in a fuel container enables the molecule of the oil liquid fuel to vibrate for generating gasified molecule containing the molecule of the oil liquid fuel. The gasified molecule is transported through a gas pipe device to a gas outlet whereby the gasified molecule is ignited for use.

Abstract: Methods for using supercritical water to convert hydrocarbons, particularly hydrocarbon fuels such as diesel fuel, jet fuel, or gasoline, into carbonaceous gases and hydrogen. A lock sensing switch provides a feedback on the lock condition to the transit vehicle control system. Abstract: A gutter cover which can be more easily installed over a gutter without the use of siding breaks or other clamping tools. The gutter cover comprises a generally planar first section adapted to be installed under or over a row of shingles on a roof; a generally planar second section adapted to overlie the open end of a gutter; and a bend between the first and second sections. The bend is shaped and configured to permit the angle of the first section to be easily adjusted relative to the second section without the use of tools and to slow the flow of water from the roof through capillary action. The bend is generally V-shaped in cross section and includes a first leg that depends from one edge of the first section and a second leg that depends from one edge of the second section. The two legs are joined at the bottom to form a crevice that slows the flow of water over the gutter cover.

The structure can be open-air or glass enclosed in single units or clusters joined by walkways. There are no exterior walls since the facade is simply pillars separated by wide floor-to-ceiling glass windows that allow 360 degree panoramic views from inside the structure.

Abstract: A conventionally available pile for civil engineering work is constructed such that the pile has in its inside a core body with wedges that stick into soil deep in the ground and function to prevent the pile from coming out of place. A problem exists with such a pile in that placing the core body at an appropriate position inside the pile is difficult. A pile for civil engineering work of this invention enables a core body to be placed at an appropriate position and labor required for the placement to be reduced. A pile (1) for civil engineering work is characterized in that, for example, a guide rail (4) that enables a core body (6) to be guided is provided inside a body of the pile (1), the core body (6) is guided through the guide rail (4), and wedges (6a, 6b) are appropriately guided to cut/pushed-in openings (2a, 2b, 3a, 3b).

Abstract: An assembly and process to allow for stud walls to be erected prior to the concrete slab being placed and also used for tenant demising walls before the concrete slab is placed. The Easy Wall Track includes a light gauge channel with a leave in place metal keyway attached to the under side for vertical support. There are metal brackets that support this assembly with a smooth rod or rebar driven in the ground. This allows for the concrete slab to be poured at a later date with almost no formwork needing to be placed. This saves money on material, labor and time on the schedule for the retail development company. The Easy Wall Track is versatile in meeting the needs of retail and commercial construction.
