  • Patent number: 7276252
Abstract: A drug delivery device such as an oral dosage form (ODF) with a toxic or potent core encapsulated by a non-toxic region. The non-toxic region may be a region including multiple layers, coatings, shells, and combinations thereof, which provides protection to and isolation from the toxic or potent core. The drug in the toxic or potent core is incorporated into the dosage form via, for example, three-dimensional printing, as a solution, solubilization or suspension of solid particles in liquid, rather than by the more conventional handling and compressing of dry powder. This minimizes the likelihood of creating airborne particles of the toxic drug during manufacturing, hence controlling and minimizing the exposure of manufacturing personnel to the hazardous substance. Wet dispensing of the toxic or potent drug further provides greater bioavailability of the drug to the patient.

  • Patent number: 7276265
Abstract: Surface covering components that include a topcoat layer with different gloss levels in various regions on the top coat layer, and methods of manufacturing such surface covering components, are disclosed. The surface covering components include a coating layer that includes regions that have a relatively higher gloss, and regions with a relatively lower gloss. The differential gloss is provided by coating a substrate with a UV-curable coating composition, subjecting a first region of the surface coating to polymerization under a first set of conditions, and subjecting a second region of the surface coating to polymerization under a second set of conditions. The UV-curable coating compositions include UV-curable components and one or more flatting agents. The different polymerization conditions involve applying various photoinitiators, thermal initiators and/or cure altering agents to some regions of the coated substrate, and not applying these components to other regions of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7276267
Abstract: A method making possible the production of an injection molded conductor carrying means composed of a first supporting substrate and a second supporting substrate. The first supporting substrate comprises a basically metallizeable plastic material and the second supporting substrate a basically non-metallizeable plastic material. However the plastic material of the second supporting substrate is able to be activated by a laser beam. The laser activation produces a metallization pattern on it and such pattern is connected with uncovered areas of the first supporting substrate, following which a common treatment takes place which results in an electrical conductor arrangement being produced. The invention furthermore relates to a conductor carrying means produced by the method.

The plurality of chemical chains can comprise a polymer such as a polyamine. In many aspects, the plurality of chemical chains is sufficiently free of cross-linking or branching. The present invention also provides an article capable of specific binding of a desired biomolecule while preventing non-specific binding of biomolecules.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a far infrared radiator used in various types of heating equipment. This far infrared radiator is comprised of a base material 1 composed of aluminum or aluminum alloy, and an electrolytic colored film 2 formed on this base material 1. Fine irregularities are formed in the surface of the electrolytic colored film, and nickel or cobalt is heterogeneously deposited from the bottoms to the openings in micropores of this film 2. Electrolytic colored film 2 is obtained by performing electrolysis treatment in a nickel bath or cobalt bath using an alumite film 3, formed on the surface of base material 1 having fine irregularities, as the cathode.

Abstract: A paperboard laminate useful for making gable top juice cartons is provided. The laminate provides for a high melting point polymer such as a semi-crystalline nylon to be applied directly to a board surface as an oxygen barrier layer. An anti-scalping layer is also provided by a polar polymer which is connected by a tie layer to an outermost skin coat layer. Positioned between the skin coat layer and the oxygen barrier layer are one or more bulk layers of polyolefins. The resulting laminate affords a juice carton which has good oxygen barrier and Vitamin C retention properties, is resistant to overactivation during heat sealing, has minimal scalping of d-limonene and essential oils, and has excellent bulge resistance.

Abstract: A first metal is plated onto a substrate comprising a second metal by immersing the substrate into a bath comprising a compound of the first metal and an organic diluent. The second metal is more electropositive than the first metal. The organic diluent has a boiling point higher than a eutectic point in a phase diagram of the first and second metals. The bath is operated above the eutectic point but below the melting point of the second metal. For example, bismuth is immersion plated onto lead-free tin-based solder balls, and subsequently redistributed by fluxless reflow. Plated structures are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7276298
Abstract: The present invention is related to an intermediate layer of an organic electroluminescent device comprising an amine derivative substance which may further comprise a functional group capable of forming crosslinks. In particular, the substance may have excellent solubility and can be easily formed into a thin film. Specifically, the thin film may be stable in the solvent and can be easily formed to various thicknesses. Furthermore, the band gaps and LUMO/HOMO values may be easily controlled depending of the characteristics of the hole transporting material, so that an intermediate layer with the desired characteristics may be formed. Accordingly, the introduction of an intermediate layer manufactured using the substance of the present invention as the intermediate layer may result in an organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and a longer lifespan.

Abstract: The invention relates to a microelectronic structure which provides improved protection of a hydrogen-sensitive dielectric against hydrogen contamination. According to the invention, the hydrogen sensitive dielectric (14) is covered at lest by an intermediate oxide (18), where material thickness is at lest five times the thickness of the hydrogen-sensitive dielectric. The intermediate oxide (18) simultaneously acts as an internal dielectric and is metabolized on its surface for this purpose. The intermediate oxide (18), which has a sufficient thickness absorbers the hydrogen that may be released during the deposition of a hydrogen barrier layer (22, 26), thus protecting the hydrogen-sensitive dielectric (14).
