Abstract: A holddown pin mechanism for hydraulic power units is a ball guide with a cylindrical flat base having a central opening, a plurality of spaced elongated holddown pins have one end rigidly secured to one side of said ball guide. The pins extend outwardly at right angles from the side of said washer to which they are secured. The holddown pin mechanism is placed in a hydraulic cylinder block having a center bore, with the pins extending into holes in the block. A flat washer on a shaft extending through the block engages the free ends of the pins.

Abstract: In a two-cycle, opposed-piston internal combustion engine, opposed pistons disposed in a cylinder are coupled to a pair of side-mounted crankshafts by connecting rods that are subject to substantially tensile forces acting between the pistons and the crankshafts. This geometry reduces or eliminates side forces between the pistons and the bore of the cylinder. The cylinder and the pistons are independently cooled to reduce cylindrical deformation caused by thermal expansion during engine operation.

The processed egg-based composition is preferably realized by mixing a liquid form egg-based composition. The coating is particularly useful in conjunction with germicidal UV lamps emitting UV radiation at 185 nm and 254 nm. The coating is a combination of a hydrophilic agent and the following metals: titanium dioxide (TiO2); silver (Ag); copper (Cu); nickel (Ni); and rhodium (Rh). At least three of the five metals are present as particles in the 50-100 nm range. The nanosize particles increase the surface area of the catalyst, improving the kinetic rate of reaction and the total reduction in ozone concentration. The particular mixture of catalytic metals and absorbed water also results in reaction products that have antimicrobial effect, including hydroxyl radicals and ions, superoxides, hydro peroxides and ozonide ions.
