Abstract: A quick-disconnect, the nipple portion of which has a pressure relief path and a coupler portion of which has a safety lock. The nipple portion is provided with a spring-loaded sleeve which covers the relief flow path when not engaged. The sleeve is hand driven against the spring load to expose the flow relief passage. Any pressure in the quick-disconnect is then discharged to atmosphere. The coupler portion incorporates a piston that is pressure activated to block the motion of a disconnecting sleeve. The piston is moved to the unlocked position by a wave spring when the pressure is removed. These features are packaged in a small volume for use in systems where space is limited. The quick-disconnect is designed and fabricated with materials that can withstand a proof pressure of 20,000 PSI. Such capabilities are especially useful in aircraft systems with a supply pressure of up to 5,000 PSI.

Abstract: An anisotropic rare-earth bonded magnet having a network boundary phase is provided by imparting melt fluidity accompanied by a slip to a composite granule and compressing and molding the composite granule in a magnetic field together with extensible polymer molecules and a chemical contact. In the bonded magnet, the maximum energy product is 147 kJ/m3 in the thickness of 1 mm, or 127 kJ/m3 in the thickness of 300 ?m. This bonded magnet contributes to increase in output and decrease in size and weight of a permanent-magnet motor.

Abstract: A metal powder manufacturing device for manufacturing a metal powder includes a feed for supplying a molten metal, a fluid spout unit, and a course modification unit. The fluid spout unit further includes a channel and an orifice. The channel is provided below the feed, allowing passing of the molten metal supplied from the feed. The orifice is opened at a bottom end of the channel, spouting a fluid into the channel. The above course modification unit is provided below the fluid spout unit, and forcibly changes the traveling direction of a dispersion liquid. This dispersion liquid is composed of multiple fine droplets dispersed into the fluid. The above droplets are a resultant of a breakup caused by a contact between the molten metal and the fluid ejected from the orifice. Here, the dispersion liquid is transported so that the droplets is cooled and solidified in the dispersion liquid in order to manufacture the metal powder.
