Abstract: 60 fields of an interlace image (telecine image) after 32-pull down is input. The input images stored in field memories are read, and the grayscale difference (difference absolute value) between frames is computed by a pixel difference absolute value subtractor. The difference absolute value and five threshold values are compared by an absolute value difference comparator. A cumulative adder stores one field of comparison result. A flag information creation processing unit creates a flag information table for indicating whether a current field is a repeat field with noise or not, based on the information from the cumulative adder. A repeat field judgment unit detects a 32-pull down sequence from the flag information table, and detects whether the current field is a repeat field with noise or not, and so forth. A 32-transform control unit performs IP (Interlace to Progressive) conversion based on the detected repeat fields.

Abstract: A tuner integrated circuit is connected, in a preceding stage thereof, to an RF amplifier including a UHF dual gate FET and a VHF dual gate FET. In the reception of a signal of the UHF band, a television signal output from the UHF dual gate FET is input to a UHF RF circuit via a UHF multiple-tuning circuit. In the reception of a signal of the VHF band, a television signal output from the VHF dual gate FET is input to a VHF RF circuit via a VHF multiple-tuning circuit. A VHF input terminal of the VHF RF circuit is connected to the ground via between a collector and an emitter of a transistor. In the reception of the signal of the UHF band, the transistor is turned on.

Abstract: When an abnormality occurs in a supply circuit and its output is decreased, a protect circuit detects the abnormality and outputs a protect signal to an audio circuit. The audio circuit upon detection of the protect signal stops outputting audio so that outputting of an audio noise due to a deficiency in the supplied voltage is prevented. Meanwhile, when no abnormality occurs in the supply circuit, a microcomputer controls the audio circuit by supplying it with such a signal as to allow it to output an audio, or to increase the audio volume, or with a mute signal.

Abstract: A 2D image display apparatus using a laser light source. By controlling the timing of a scan by a beam scan portion in response to the characteristic of a laser light source and by setting a light emitting time of the laser light source to an integral multiple of a scan cycle of the beam scan portion, it is possible to illuminate a spatial light modulator homogeneously with a laser beam. It is thus possible to display an image at high accuracy without causing a bright line, irregularities in brightness, and contrast deterioration.

Abstract: A display, such as for use in a mobile telephone, comprising a light transmissive display, such as a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), having there under a light transmitting plate adapted to guide light therein and then through the light transmissive display. Between the light emitters and the plate, a number of tapered light guides are provided so that the space between the tapers may be used for e.g. electronic components. The use of the light guides provides more space for electronic components and furthermore provides a more freely selectable positioning of the light emitters.
