Abstract: A semiconductor device includes an internal power supply line, a first power supply circuit, and second power supply circuits. The first power supply circuit includes an ordinary-voltage generation circuit supplying an ordinary voltage to the internal power supply line during an ordinary operation, and a test-voltage generation circuit supplying a test voltage to the internal power supply line during a test operation. Each of the second power supply circuits includes only an ordinary-voltage generation circuit. The number of ordinary-voltage generation circuits is thereby larger than the number of test-voltage generation circuits. Therefore, the ordinary voltage such as the precharge potential can be stably supplied to the internal power supply line while suppressing an increase in chip area.

Abstract: RFID readers, systems, and methods are provided for overcoming the effects of RF interference. While a system is communicating in a channel, RF interference is monitored. If it is low, then hopping to another channel is performed according to an ordinary decision. But if interference is high, then hopping out to another channel can be earlier than would be dictated by the ordinary decision under the same circumstances. The earlier hopping out can result in diminishing communication in channels with a lot of RF interference.

Abstract: Encoding and/or decoding a wideband signal produces high frequency band spectra from low frequency band spectral information. Linear prediction filter coefficients are determined for the entire wideband spectrum of an input signal. An energy value in each of a plurality of sub-bands in the high frequency band is determined and encoded. The short-term correlation removed input signal is then down-sampled to form a low frequency band signal. At a decoder, the high frequency band signal is generated using the encoded low frequency band signal. The energy in each sub-band of the high frequency band is adjusted using the encoded energy value. Thus, the spectral envelope for the entire wideband signal is synthesized and decoded using linear predictive synthesis.

Abstract: A solution (600b) for auto-completing words being input to a computer is proposed. For this purpose, a user starts inputting (656;677) a prefix of a target word; the computer tries predicting the target word that is desired, and it completes (680) the prefix automatically (without the need of inputting the entire target word). In the proposed solution, the user also inputs (659-662,665) an indication of the length of the target word. In this way, the computer can restrict (668) the words being eligible to complete the prefix (i.e., including it) only to the ones having the desired length. This allows solving any ambiguity with shorter prefixes.

Here, the multiplication factor of the PLL circuit is so controlled as to be changed according to the number of bits of the parallel data written to the FIFO portion. This makes it possible to flexibly deal with parallel inputs having different bus widths without unduly increasing a device scale and cost.

Abstract: A mobile communication terminal may be made smaller by using an internal antenna and a conductive layer. The conductive layer is spaced apart from the antenna by a fixed gap, and the conductive layer may be located either internally or externally to the terminal housing. The addition of the conductive layer provides a second resonant frequency in a higher frequency band than a first resonant frequency. Because the conductive layer has a relative smaller amount of radiation and is more directly affected by a human body than the internal antenna with a relatively larger amount of radiation, the performance characteristics of the terminal can be increased by a corresponding amount.

Abstract: A dual polarised wave-guide notch antenna array is disclosed. The device comprises a feed section (1) having at least two input transmission lines, a feed/wave-guide interface (5) providing an aperture for transferring a radio frequency electromagnetic wave between the feed section (1) and a wave-guide mode in a wave-guide section (3) having ridges. The wave-guide section transfers energy between the feed/wave-guide interface and a tapered notch section (7), thereby gradually adjusting a created electromagnetic field towards free space conditions.

Abstract: An integrated multi-beam antenna with a shared dielectric lens is disclosed. The antenna is formed by positioning the feed apertures of a plurality of waveguide feeds at positions located on the surface of the shared dielectric lens. The angular direction and shape of radiation beams produced by the waveguide feeds are determined by the physical and dielectric characteristics of the lens, the location of feed apertures of the waveguide feeds on the surface of the lens, and the frequency of electromagnetic energy propagating in the waveguide feeds. The principles of the invention are applied to realize an inexpensive, integrated multi-feed antenna adapted to provide desired angular areas of coverage for both a long range and short range radar in an automotive radar safety system.

Abstract: A relatively low cost, easy to install and aesthetically pleasing multi-band, multi-port digital video broadcast from satellite (DVBS) elliptical horn antenna designed as part of a reflector antenna system to simultaneously receive satellite television broadcast signals with circular polarity on two frequency channels. This type antenna may be implemented with a single antenna feed horn with multiple feed horns that may be arranged separately or in one or more integral feed horn blocks. The antennas may be designed to achieve acceptable circular polarity performance over broad and multiple frequency bands through the use of oppositely sloped differential phase differential sections.

Abstract: Extending graphical information to a remote computing system such that a multiple monitor configuration can be implemented for the first computing device is illustrated. The multiple monitors include a display connected to the first computing device and one or more displays connected to other computing devices. A remote session is established between the first computing device and the second computing device. Graphics commands are generated for first and second display drivers at the first computing device as if a multi-display configuration is active at the first computing device. The first display driver is associated with a display at the first computing device. The second display driver doesn't have an associated display at the first computing device. Graphics are displayed from the graphics commands for the first display driver at the display at the first computing device. Graphics commands for the second display driver are remoted to the second computing device.
