  • Patent number: 7319566
Abstract: Compact beam manipulators employ one or more Risley prism sets with or without a parallel plate translator. One beam manipulator contains a plate mounted to permit pitch and yaw adjustments and a prism set mounted to permit rotations. The rotations of the prisms adjust a beam direction, and adjustment of the plate adjusts the beam position. Another beam manipulator contains a prism set mounted to permit rotations and pitch and yaw adjustments of the prisms. The rotations and pitch and yaw adjustments provide coupled changes in the position and direction of a beam, and iterative adjustments alternate between rotating prisms to change the beam direction and the adjusting pitch and yaw to change the beam position. The iterative adjustments are complete when the beam has a target position and a target direction to within required tolerances. Gluing elements to optic holders minimizes stress-induced birefringence and temperature and humidity effects.

  • Patent number: 7319567
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention lower the servo sector's share of each track and ensure that servo sector numbers are reliably determined. According to the embodiment, in the servo sector number (SSA) section of each servo sector, servo sector number information whose bit length (k bits) is shorter than the bit length required to express the servo sector number itself is preliminarily written. The servo sector number of each servo sector is determined by using the servo sector number information in m successive servo sectors, that is, a total of m×k bits of information. Note that they satisfy the m(2m×k?1)?N relation where N denotes the total number of servo sectors per track.

  • Patent number: 7319569
Abstract: A servo writer is provided, which applies DC magnetization to a zone of a magnetic tape that is in advance subjected to AC erasing and writes a servo signal onto the DC magnetized zone. The servo writer has a DC erasing head and a servo signal writing head. The DC erasing head conducts DC erasing by applying DC magnetization to the magnetic tape which travels past the DC erasing head. The servo signal writing head writes the servo signal onto the magnetic tape downstream relative to the DC erasing head in a direction of traveling of the magnetic tape. In this servo writer, one of the DC erasing head and the servo signal writing head has an integrally formed flange which is able to restrict widthwise misalignment of the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 7319575
Abstract: This invention provides a semiconductor device in which an ESD protection circuit and a termination circuit can be realized with a small die area. A PMOS transistor having an ESD protection function is placed between a signal node on a line from an signal terminal to an input buffer and a supply voltage node. Furthermore, a voltage generator circuit is placed to supply a reference voltage to the gate of the PMOS transistor. By the reference voltage controlled by the voltage generator circuit, a source drain resistance of the PMOS transistor is set. Thereby, the PMOS transistor can be made to function as a terminating resistor whose resistance can be set adaptively to a characteristic impedance of a transmission line, for example, connected to the signal terminal in addition to the ESD protection function.

Abstract: A second duct is designed to oppose its air outlet to a portion of an air inlet of a first duct in an electronic apparatus. The wall member closes the air inlet of the first duct at a position outside the air outlet of the second duct. An opening is defined in the wall member. The opening enables a connection between the outer space of the second duct and the air inlet of the first duct. Airflow enters the air inlet of the first duct from the air outlet of the second duct as well as from the opening of the wall member, respectively.

Abstract: A subrack (1) includes a plurality of plug-in units (50), two parallel sidewalls (10, 20), a bottom wall (24), and a top wall (30). Each of the plug-in units includes a particular combination of code pins (60). Each of the bottom wall and top wall includes a first plate (35). The first plate defines a plurality of spaced slide channels (351) for slidably receiving the plug-in units respectively, and forms a plurality of L-shaped flakes (40) substantially in front of the slide channels respectively. Any one or more of a height, a length, and a deviation relative to the corresponding slide channel of each of the flakes varies relative to another one of the flakes according to different combinations of corresponding code pins, in order that the flakes respectively match the combinations of the corresponding code pins and thereby prevent improper insertion of the plug-in units into the subrack.

Abstract: Disclosed are a power supplying apparatus and a LCD having the same that reduces manufacturing cost of a large-scale LCD module and enhances powpower efficiency by integrating an external dc power supply used in a large-scale LCD panel into a LCD panel. A first voltage converter converts an external ac voltage into a first dc voltage, and changes a voltage level of the first de voltage into a second dc voltage having a highr voltage level than that of the first de voltage. A second voltage converter converts the second dc voltage into an ac voltage, raises a voltage level of the converted ac voltage, and provides the raised ac voltage to a load. A current detector detects a current flowing through the load, and provides a current detection signal as a feedback signal to the first voltage converter so that the first voltage provide a constant direct current output voltage.
