Abstract: A float mechanism for attaching a material-moving implement to an instant transfer connector has a pair of spaced apart substantially vertical supports, each with a substantially vertical slot in an upper region and configured to attach to the instant transfer connector. The slots are slidably engaged by a transfer bar attached to the implement, and a stabilizing structure limits the motion of the transfer bar in the slots. The limited flexibility allows the implement to push material across uneven terrain. Blocks can be employed to disable the flexible action when the implement is employed for loading and dumping material.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wear assembly, as well as to the different components thereof, which comprises a wear member or tooth and an adaptor member or tooth bar for wear applications in a machine for moving materials such as earth and stones. The invention contemplates a wear assembly and particularly a coupling system between the different components to one another by means of a characteristic coupling system and at least one retention system assuring the coupling and anchor between the different components, specifically between the wear member and adaptor, the latter in turn being joined to the blade of a bucket or scoop of a machine for moving materials, such as an excavator or the like.

A second substrate is positioned adjacent to the first substrate. The second substrate defines a plurality of cavities dimensioned to individually retain a respective information carrying article, such as a web. Each of the cavities is corresponding supplied with a respective information carrying article. Each indicia on the first substrate is positionally associated with a respective cavity in the second substrate. A third substrate, positioned adjacent to the second substrate, is positioned to retain the information carrying articles releasably within the second substrate.

Abstract: A layered assembly includes a first adhesive layer and a protective top layer affixed permanently on all sides to the first adhesive layer. The assembly also includes a first image layer onserted between the first adhesive layer and the protective top layer, wherein the protective top layer is provided over the first image layer and at least a portion of the protective top layer can be removed to reveal the first image layer.

Abstract: A self-absorbent disposable coaster for different sized beverage holders is presented. The coaster is inserted into a beverage holder prior to placing a beverage container therein. Once the beverage has been consumed, or when the coaster has reached a predetermined saturation point, the coaster is discarded and a new coaster is inserted. Thus the beverage holder remains clean. The exterior surface of the coaster is, preferably, coated with an impermeable material, to prevent liquids absorbed by the coaster from passing through it to the beverage holder. The coaster further allows for the emplacement of an advertisement indicia on its surface. Data representative of advertising indicia to be provided on the self absorbent coasters is received via suitable communications network.

Abstract: A post-disaster alert system for prominently displaying whether or not a person within a particular residence needs assistance includes a display such as a door hanger that can be arranged to be easily viewed from the outside of the residence. The display includes at least a signal that a person within the residence needs assistance or that no one in the residence needs assistance. Emergency response personnel or others can use the display to quickly evaluate the assistance needs of a large number of residences in a given area.

Abstract: A sign holder in the form of individual parts which, upon assembly, provides for the support and display of signage in a plurality of orientations. The sign holder includes a base configured to receive and support a first end to the stem, the stem having a first end and second end, the first end configured to be releasably retained by the base and the second end configured to retain a sign frame. The second end of the stem is provided with a C-shaped extremity sized to frictionally capture the sign frame such that the sign frame is releaseable from the stem by providing a lateral force to the frame.

Abstract: A display system is used to securely and tautly mount a readily changeable advertising display face. The display system comprises a frame that defines a support structure, and a display face removably attached to the support structure. The support structure is adapted to be fixedly mounted to a wall of a building, or a sidewalk, or the like. The support structure and display face have interchangeable have a plurality of interchangeable fasteners, e.g., snap members. The display face can thereby be easily attached to and detached from the support structure while hiding the body of the support structure from sight.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to augment patient identification systems includes the use of markers with colors or indicia to indicate visually a patient's medical conditions, resuscitation regimen preferences, and allergies to health care providers. The system includes color-coded or other visual devices that are affixed to the patient's identification band. The visual devices are configured to impede removal after affixing.

Abstract: A wristband device which is adapted to at least partially surround a person's wrist is described which includes a clamshell joinder and a tail portion. The clamshell portion comprises a pair of similarly sized panels and may be folded over onto itself to capture a length of a wristband to complete the encircling of a wrist. It may be provided on a page sized sheet, and die cut into a laminate ply of a two ply business form, along with a plurality of self adhering labels, in any of a number of configurations, to suit any particular application, as desired by a user.

The number plate includes a protruded portion that protrudes forwardly at a center thereof and narrows toward a lower portion, the lower portion covering an area forward of the steering damper.

A support (12) is mounted pivotally to the bracket (10) by a cylindrical bar (16) received in a channel (33). The surface of the cylindrical bar is smooth and the channel (33) is a part-cylindrical section of the bracket (10) whose surface also is smooth, but with an inherent radial springiness to grip the smooth bar sufficiently to hold a selected angular position between the bracket and support. However, the frictional grip can be overcome by manually so that the angular disposition of the bracket and support can be adjusted. The channel (33) is defined so that the mouth of the part-cylindrical channel will face towards the rear panel or picture frame.

Abstract: A single unit framing mat used to display collectible items, comprised of a top flexible, EVA layer with cut-outs, and a rigid, uncut supporting bottom layer. The top EVA layer has a high co-efficient of friction enabling it to self-seal against a transparent panel when compressed. The self-sealing mat thereby encapsulates and protects display articles from environmental elements. When pressure is released the top EVA mat layer retains its functional integrity and can be reused to encapsulate new display articles. The top EVA layer has a closed-cell structure that is impreviable to moisture and thereby resists wraping. The framing mat may be used to frame display articles of varying thicknesses. The mat may be used in a variety of commercially available picture framing devices that include pressure exerting back hardware.

The contact element is arranged inclined relative to a firing pin. An indicator element is further provided to be rotatably mounted about a rotation axis within a seat of the bolt and comprising an active portion on which a second end of the contact element acts. The active portion is movable about the rotation axis at least between a retracted position in which it remains within the bulk of the bolt and an extracted position in which it signals that a cartridge is present within the chamber following the thrust applied by the contact element.

The controller/transmitter includes first and secondary momentary contact push button switches for controlling the commands and is adapted to the secured to one or more of the users fingers in preselected positions such that the switches stay in place on the users hand regardless of the users hand position. A foot on the outer end of the support rod performs a kicking action when the decoy floats in water. There may be two support rods extending through the belly portion of the waterfowl and reciprocating out of phase with each other.

The aeration assembly comprises a thermally conductive conduit portion directed through the heat-transferring environment and terminating in the water quantity for aerating the same. Airflow, having been heat-conditioned as it passes through the conduit portion, aerates the water quantity and enables heat energy transfer intermediate the heat-conditioned aeration and the water quantity for controlling the air and/or heat condition of the water quantity and thereby enables the user to help sustain the life of live bait received therein.

Abstract: An insect removal system is provided which includes a chemical insect debilitating agent spray formulation and an insect removal adhesive tape for removing small insects and/or arachnids from a surface. The insect debilitating formulation is composed of an active ingredient that is not harmful to humans or animals so that the formulation can be sprayed on skin or fur surfaces, as well as a plethora of other surfaces. Upon debilitation or killing of the insect, a desired length of the adhesive tape is applied to the insect and surrounding surface so that the insect is covered and adheres to the tape. The tape, with the insect adhered thereto, is then removed from the surface, and is disposed of. Direct contact with the insect during the debilitating and removal processes is avoided.

Abstract: A trellis system of the invention comprises a trellis and tool in combination. The trellis includes multiple legs and one or more horizontal supports. The tool includes a tray and a coning tool. The tray is adapted to slidably engage the legs by way of engagement means. The coning tool is adapted to engage the ends of the legs to facilitate shaping the trellis into a conical or pyramidal frame if desired. The trellis system can be used as a plant growth support and/or to hold potted plants. It can be installed into the ground or an existing potted plant. The trellis can be inverted position, the trellis can be used as a frame to build ornamental Christmas trees. The trellis can be a break down type of trellis including at least two horizontal supports and at least three segmented legs, wherein the segmented legs can each be made from two or more extended leg segments. The invention also provides a collapsible support that can be used in combination with a trellis or trellis system of the invention.

Abstract: A plant pot drainage system has a pot or planter-type container with potting soil. Lightweight, non-mineral rock shaped filler elements are located in the lower section of the container. The elements are irregular in shape, allowing the potting soil to fill spaces between the elements. This promotes drainage and proper root growth within the container. The elements are formed from synthetic, crush-proof material, for example high strength plastic, and can be hollow, to enhance the lightweight nature of the elements. Use of these filler elements ensures that the planted container can be easily lifted and readily transported.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of hydrogen and carbon monoxide from a carbonaceous feedstock by: (a) partially oxidizing the feedstock in a vertically oriented tubular partial oxidation reactor vessel having a burner at its upper end thereby obtaining a first gaseous product of hydrogen and carbon monoxide; (b) catalytic steam reforming a carbonaceous feedstock in the presence of steam in a convective steam reformer zone thereby obtaining a steam reformer product; (c) reducing the temperature of the product of step (a) by mixing this product with the product of step (b); (d) contacting the mixture obtained in step (c) with a post reforming catalyst; and (e) providing the required heat for the convective steam reforming reaction zone in step (b) by convective heat exchange between the mixture obtained in step (d) and the steam reformer reactor zone thereby obtaining a hydrogen and carbon monoxide containing gas having a reduced temperature.

Abstract: A child safety barrier (1) has a handle (8, 20, 21), which, when being operated, causes two upper ferrules (9, 10) to be fixed in an opening between two side posts (2, 3), as well as a pressure indicator which shows how great a pressure is provided against the side posts (2, 3). According to the invention, the pressure indicator is constructed as a pressure transducer in the form of a strain gauge (13) which is disposed on one of the upper ferrules (9). A signal processing circuit (16), which is powered from a battery (19), is connected to the strain gauge (13). The signal processing circuit (16) has a display unit which may be a light-emitting diode or a sound unit, which gives a signal when the pressure between the upper ferrules (9, 10) is sufficient. The display unit also shows whether the battery (19) is sufficient charged. The invention provides a pressure indicator which is more reliable than a mechanical pressure indicator, in particular after having been used for an extended period of time.

Abstract: In a method and system for controlling a revolving door that has a plurality of chambers defined by wings of a revolver, at least one imaging sensor is provided for acquiring images of a first area where the plurality of chambers rotatably pass by or through. A drive causes the revolver to rotate in a first direction from a first position where a user can enter a first chamber via the first opening. Images are acquired by the one imaging sensor and signals are acquired from a position sensor that is operative for outputting signals indicative of the angular position of the revolver. Based on the signals acquired from the position sensor, each imaging sensor or its output is disabled and/or each image acquired by each imaging sensor is ignored when each door wing is in field-of-view of the imaging sensor.

Abstract: A modular sealing and seal activation system for use with a combination of a panel and a frame includes a plurality of sealing system modules and a seal activation system. The plurality of sealing system modules are disposed within the frame and are removably attachable to the frame. Each of the sealing system modules is movable between a disengaged configuration and an engaged configuration. The seal activation system is connected to at least one of the sealing system modules, and the seal activation system moves the at least one of the sealing system modules between the engaged configuration and the disengaged configuration. The plurality of sealing system modules are substantially, identically sized, and the seals, in combination, are formed substantially, completely around the panel.

Abstract: A coating, particularly for cutting tools, is presented which may be manufactured in a single PVD coating process allowing the making of two-color cutting tools in a simple manner. Between two metallic hard material layers of unlike color a separating layer 11 is provided which, like the other layers, is produced in the same PVD coating process. The separating layer (11) permits the abrasion of the top layer by sandblasting, brushing or the like in very short abrading periods.

Abstract: The mixture of molten alumina-zircon grains has the following chemical composition in percentage by weight to give 100%: 40-45.5% ZrO+HfO2; 46-58% Al2O3; 0-10% additive; <0.8% SIO2 and<1,2% impurities. Abstract: Polycrystalline grits and methods of making grits which allow for a high degree of shape and size distribution control, as well as improved abrasive performance are described and disclosed. In one aspect, an abrasive slurry can be formed into a plurality of abrasive precursors arranged on a substrate using screen-printing or other techniques. The abrasive slurry can include a binder and a plurality of abrasive particles. The abrasive precursors on the substrate can then be covered with a pressure medium and then subjected to pressure and temperature conditions sufficient to cause sintering of the abrasive particles to form polycrystalline grits. The polycrystalline grits produced by such methods can have a substantially uniform shape and size distribution.

Abstract: A cutter clip and methods for installing a gutter cover onto a gutter system are disclosed. The gutter clip includes a mouth portion sized to provide an interference fit between the gutter cover and the mouth portion of the clip which stationarily secures the gutter cover to the gutter clip. The gutter clip is further provided with a mounting portion that fastens to the lip of a gutter. Once assembled, the gutter clip of the present invention provides minimum horizontal and vertical tolerances between the gutter and the gutter cover, such that water may flow freely into the gutter channel, but does not permit debris to be lodged therein.

Abstract: A modular system for generation of acetylene gas, in a reactor suitable for the controlled reaction of calcium carbide and water, is disclosed. In this system, a self-container reactor module is provided which is suitable for coupling to an acetylene gas reservoir. In one of the preferred embodiments of this invention, this reactor module can include a primary and a secondary charge of calcium carbide, and a stoichiometric excess of water. Acetylene gas is formed by initial contact of a primary calcium carbide charge with water in the reactor reservoir. Upon essentially complete reaction of the primary charge and the water in the reservoir, the pressure within the reactor is monitored, as such gas is drawn off to fuel the operation of an internal combustion engine. Where such pressure drops to, or below a pre-determined level, a secondary charge of calcium carbide is contacted with the remaining water in the reactor reservoir, so as to prevent interruption in the fueling of the internal combustion engine.
