Publication number: 20080028693Abstract: An apparatus and method provide for measurement at various positions over an extent-of an uneven structural surface, and preparation of spacers, cut to appropriate thicknesses based upon such measurements, such that when affixed to the respective measurement locations, outer facing surfaces of the spacers are collectively coplanar. A method of aligning a surface includes defining a reference plane in a fixed condition relative to the structural surface, and determining a differential distance between the structural surface and the reference plane at various locations along an extend of the particular structural surface. Using these measurements, indexed according to location, spacers are cut to a thickness based upon the respective differential distances at corresponding locations, which, when mounted to the structural surface at these recorded locations, results in alignment of outwardly facing surfaces with a common plane. Advantageously, at least a portion of the processes is automated.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2006Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventor: Kerry McCauley

A surface area A1 of a grass clippings discharge opening and a surface area A2 of a recirculation opening have a relationship of A2?{1/(1??N)0.5}A1, where A1 is the surface area of the grass clippings discharge opening through which the grass clippings and carrier air are discharged from the cutter housing to the grass bag, A2 is the surface area of the recirculation opening through which the carrier air is recirculated from the grass bag to the cutter housing, N is the number of bends having an angle of ? degrees in the space between the grass clippings discharge opening and the recirculation opening, and ? is a pressure loss coefficient for each of the bends.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Applicant: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuo Iida, Shunsuke Kurioka, Shoji Hasei

Publication number: 20080028737Abstract: A conveyor assembly is provided on a baler between a crop take-up arrangement and a baling chamber. The conveyor assembly includes a guide member assembly having an upwardly facing guide surface defining a lower limit of a crop conveying channel having an upper limit defined by an undershot rotor positioned above the guide surface. The conveyor assembly further includes a cutting arrangement mounted to a lower side of the guide member and having knives located for projecting through slots provided in the guide member. The cutting arrangement can be lowered together with the guide member, as well as shifted transverse to the forward operating direction relative to the guide member. In this way jams can be avoided or removed, and the cutting arrangement can be brought into a position accessible for purposes of maintenance, as well.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventors: Jean Viaud, Emmanuel Chapon

Publication number: 20080028738Abstract: A press is provided with a feed channel, whose feed channel wall, in the event of overload, can be pivoted away from a feed rotor. The pivotal motion of the feed channel wall is realized about an upstream bearing, which, by means of a link, is itself moved away from the feed rotor in an upright guide. The motion within the guide is derived from the pivot motion of the feed channel wall away from the feed rotor. A hydraulic cylinder, working against a spring defined by an accumulator, is coupled to a downstream end of the channel wall and resists movement of the channel wall away from the feed rotor, but yields under a preselected crop load.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventor: Jean Viaud

Publication number: 20080028739Abstract: A wire wrapping device that includes a turntable assembly that is made up of a turntable and a driver adapted to rotate the turntable. Also, a set of payout carriers are mounted on the turntable, each payout carrier adapted to let out wire to be wrapped. A driver is adapted to turn each payout carrier relative to the turn table, the driver being user adjustable to turn each payout carrier by a selectable amount, per each complete rotation of the turntable.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Applicant: ADVANCED NEUROMODULATION SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Don Dye, John Swanson, Jerome Boogaard, Dave Locke

Publication number: 20080028740Abstract: A practical cable made of a high strength fiber composite material is provided, which has high and stable strength, in addition, has even axial tension against bending and thus has a stable shape, and can be wound on a reel without shape deformation, and is hardly buckled when it is inserted into a hole or cylinder. [Means for Resolution] A cable formed by singly twisting a plurality of high strength fiber composite materials is used as a strand, and a plurality of the strands are twisted together at a twist angle of 2 to 12 degrees in a direction opposite to a twist direction of the strands, so that a double twist structure is made.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2004Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventor: Kenichi Ushijima

Publication number: 20080028741Abstract: Provide a vertical spinning machine enabling to control the height of the vertical spinning machine at a height not requiring any disassembling at the time of transportation. A vertical spinning machine for performing drawing with a drawing roller R by having a mandrel M disposed on the spindle 3 and rotatably fixing the work W mounted on the mandrel M from above the work W by means of the pressing member 11 of the tailstock 10, wherein the tailstock 10 is disposed in a way to be able to move to out of the shaft axis area of the mandrel M through a traversing means 20.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2005Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventors: Hiroaki Ishida, Shinichi Hokazono

Publication number: 20080028742Abstract: A fuel system includes first and second drive assemblies that are independently drivable relative to one another. The second drive assembly has a speed that is selectively controlled based upon a desired fuel flow. A non-positive displacement pump is driven by the first drive assembly. The non-positive displacement pump provides a desired fuel pressure for the fuel system. A positive displacement pump is driven by the second drive assembly. The positive displacement pump meters a desired volume in response to the speed of the second drive assembly in a first rotational direction. The fuel flows from the pumps and passes through a bypass valve that acts as a minimum pressure shut-off valve. During shut-down of the first drive assembly, the bypass valve is opened by a solenoid and the rotational direction of the second drive assembly is reversed to a second rotational direction to evacuate fuel from the system with the positive displacement pump and return the fuel to the fuel tank.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventor: Douglas Parsons
