Publication number: 20080036709Abstract: The reliability of an EL element is enhanced while the increase of the electric power consumption is suppressed. It becomes possible that in a SES drive, the reverse bias is applied to the EL element driven at a constant electric current. Moreover, the application of the reverse bias is performed by varying only the counter electrode, and thus withstand voltage of TFT and the increase of the electric power consumption due to the increase of voltage of the gate signal line drive circuit, which becomes a problem when changing greatly the electric current supplying line, can be suppressed. Furthermore, the reduction of the electric power consumption can also be achieved while the enhancement of the reliability is secured by making the reverse bias smaller than the forward bias.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2007Publication date: February 14, 2008Inventors: Aya Anzai, Mitsuaki Osame, Yoshifumi Tanada, Keisuke Miyagawa, Satoshi Seo, Shunpei Yamazaki

Each of the pixels includes a pixel switching element, a pixel capacitor, and a storage capacitor. The capacitor line driving circuit supplies a first capacitive signal to the capacitor line when the one scanning line is selected, and changes a voltage value of the first capacitive signal when a scanning line, located a predetermined number of scanning lines away from the one scanning line, is selected. The first capacitive signal output circuit adjusts and outputs a voltage of the first capacitive signal when the one scanning line is selected. The data line driving circuit supplies the pixels with data signals of voltages corresponding to gray scale levels.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2007Publication date: February 14, 2008Applicant: EPSON IMAGING DEVICES CORPORATIONInventor: Katsunori Yamazaki

Publication number: 20080036752Abstract: A method and an apparatus to analyze two measured signals that are modeled as containing desired and undesired portions such as noise, FM and AM modulation. Coefficients relate the two signals according to a model defined in accordance with the present invention. In one embodiment, a transformation is used to evaluate a ratio of the two measured signals in order to find appropriate coefficients. The measured signals are then fed into a signal scrubber which uses the coefficients to remove the unwanted portions. The signal scrubbing is performed in either the time domain or in the frequency domain. The method and apparatus are particularly advantageous to blood oximetry and pulserate measurements. In another embodiment, an estimate of the pulserate is obtained by applying a set of rules to a spectral transform of the scrubbed signal. In another embodiment, an estimate of the pulserate is obtained by transforming the scrubbed signal from a first spectral domain into a second spectral domain.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2007Publication date: February 14, 2008Inventors: Mohamed Diab, Rex McCarthy

Publication number: 20080036753Abstract: An example control signal generating circuit CTL for controlling the writing into pixels PIX instructs a data signal line drive circuit SD2, which is for driving pixels in a non-display area, to write a voltage VB or a voltage VW which are for non-displaying, not only in the first frame but also once in a predetermined number of frames. In other words, the pixels in the display area are refreshed at intervals longer than those in the case of refreshing the pixels in each frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2007Publication date: February 14, 2008Inventors: Hajime Washio, Yasuyoshi Kaise, Sachio Tsujino, Kazuhiro Maeda, Keiji Takahashi, Yasushi Kubota, Toshiya Aoki

Publication number: 20080036754Abstract: Provided is a controller capable of preventing unnecessary contents from being displayed in a period from when a failure occurs on a terminal apparatus to when the failure is restored. When a failure monitoring section (104) detects that a failure has occurred on a display control section (102), failure detection information is outputted to a display update control section (107). The display update control section (107), in response to the outputted failure detection information, suspends updating a display, which is performed by a display section (103). And when a restoration monitoring section (106) detects that the display control section (102) has been restored from the failure, restoration detection information is outputted to the display update control section (107).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2005Publication date: February 14, 2008Inventors: Hideaki Yajima, Hidenhiko Shin

Publication number: 20080036755Abstract: An automated mechanism for measuring the amount of accuracy loss attributable to reverse engineering processes that use 3D scan data is discussed. The embodiments provide a mechanism that displays to a user the effect scan data editing and CAD remodeling operations have on scan data accuracy. Additionally, the user can choose the way the graphical display illustrates the error distribution on the model such as by color mapping and whisker mapping. The accuracy loss may be displayed to the user after finishing an editing/modeling command or during the previewing of the command thereby allowing a user to take appropriate action. Parameters may also be adjusted programmatically based on the amount of accuracy loss determined to be attributable to scan data editing or CAD remodeling operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2007Publication date: February 14, 2008Applicant: INUS Technology, Inc.Inventors: Seockhoon Bae, Donghoon Lee
