  • Patent number: 7333124
Abstract: In a thermal head, a heating element array is formed in a head substrate. Both ends of the head substrate are attached to a pair of support plates by a bolt. Plural pins protruding toward the head substrate are provided in the support plate. A gap is formed between the head substrate and the support plate through the pins. The gap prevents heat of the both ends of the head substrate from transferring to the support plate, and contributes to uniform the temperature in the overall length of the head substrate.

  • Patent number: 7333127
Abstract: In an image recording apparatus for recording an image by guiding zeroth order diffracted light beams from a plurality of diffraction grating type light modulator elements as signal beams to a recording medium, a transition of each of light modulator elements from an OFF state to an ON state is detected and when this transition is detected, the light modulator element is temporarily supplied with an auxiliary driving voltage (V3) between a driving voltage (V1) for bringing the light modulator element into the ON state and a driving voltage (V2) for bringing the light modulator element into the OFF state. This suppresses an overshoot due to a sharp change of the light modulator element to the ON state and achieves beam writing with appropriate line space ratio.

Abstract: A liquid-crystal display apparatus includes a liquid-crystal panel (25) having a color filter (26), a W light-emitting diode (22w) for irradiating white light to the liquid-crystal panel (25), RGB light-emitting diodes (22r, 22g, 22b) for irradiating lights of more than two colors containing white to the liquid-crystal panel (25), a luminance sensor (44) for detecting ambient illuminance of the liquid-crystal panel (25) to output a detected signal and a control unit (41) for switching the W light-emitting diode (22w) and the RGB light-emitting diodes (22r, 22g, 22b) based on the detected signal from the luminance sensor (44). In a related-art liquid-crystal display apparatus, since lights of red (R), green (G) and blue (B) are emitted with a time lag and superimposed upon each other so that a clear color may not be obtained in each pixel, thus resulting in insufficient color reproducing capability. According to the present invention, these defects encountered with the related art can be obviated.

  • Patent number: 7333172
Abstract: The present invention related to unifying steps of sealing material so that the yield and the reliability of a liquid-crystal display device become high. A starting film of scanning lines is patterned so that prismatic dummy wirings 301 for the first layer which are not electrically connected are formed in regions R1 and R2, and wirings 302 extending from the pixel section are formed in a region R3, and wirings 303 having connection end portions 303a are formed in a region R4. After an interlayer insulation film is formed on those surface, the starting film of the signal lines is patterned so that the dummy wirings 304 for the second layer are formed to embed the gaps between the wirings 301 to 303, and also the wirings 305 and the wirings 303 which extend from the pixel portion are connected to each other. As a result, the cross-sectional structure along the line A-A? of the sealing material formation region 107 can be unified.
