Abstract: An airbag inflator (1) for motor vehicles, more specifically an airbag inflator which is adapted to reduce high sound levels generated by the streaming of a gas flow out of the outlet into ambient air, which airbag inflator comprises at least one gas outlet (9) which is adapted to reduce high sound level generated by the streaming of a gas flow out of the outlet into ambient air. The gas outlet (9) of the airbag inflator (1) has an orifice (10;18) that is non-circular. When in use, the non-circular orifice (10; 18) of the gas outlet (9) enhances the mixing of the gas flow with the ambient air and thus provides for a reduction of the sound level caused by the gas flow.

Abstract: The invention is based on a known rollover protection system for motor vehicles having two seat-related rotary bars permanently articulated to the vehicle body, said rotary bars each being fixable in the stored resting position by means of a holding device, and being rotatable into a locked support position by means of a sensor-controlled drive. To compactly design the system with several functional parts, the invention provides a toggle lever arrangement to convert the movement of the drive into a rotary bar movement, said arrangement being articulated to the drive and the rotary bar such that it is folded at least partially within the area framed by the rotary bar when the rotary bar is in its resting position.

The fluid circuit (22, 22?, 22?) comprises a first fluid container (30, 30?, 30?) situated so content of the first fluid container experiences a first pressure level; a tank (32, 32?, 32?) having its content at a second pressure level (the second pressure level being less than the first pressure level): and, a first hydraulic motor/pump unit (34, 134, 34?) connected to communicate a first working fluid between the tank and the first fluid container. In the first phase of operation electricity is supplied to the first hydraulic/motor unit (34, 134, 34?) whereby the first hydraulic/motor unit transmits the first working fluid from the tank into the first fluid container (30, 30?, 30?).

Abstract: An electromagnetically variable transmission includes an outer rotor and an inner rotor. The inner rotor is independently rotatable within a center aperture of the outer rotor. The outer rotor is independently rotatable about the inner rotor. One of the rotors has a plurality of permanent magnets configured in pairs and facing an air gap disposed between the outer rotor and the inner rotor. The other rotor has a plurality of slots spaced about a magnetically permeable core having embedded windings. The outer inner rotors are simultaneously rotatable in one direction. In response to rotation of the outer rotor portion and the inner rotor portion, a magnetic flux path is generated between the permanent magnet pairs, the air gap, the outer rotor core and the inner rotor portion core, to induce electrical power in the windings, which transfers power between the inner rotor portion and the outer rotor portion.

Abstract: There is provided a micro power generating device. A compressor impeller and a turbine wheel are coupled to the ends of a rotating shaft. A cooler is provided for lowering a temperature of the compressed air from the compressor impeller. The compressed air is mixed with the fuel and combusted in a combustion chamber. An air foil thrust bearing for supporting the rotating shaft has a thrust collar coupled to the rotating shaft, as well as a pair of thrust discs located apart from the thrust collar and fixed to the housing. Impeller type seals are formed at both surfaces of the thrust collar and impulse turbine blades are formed at the periphery of the thrust collar. A generator is positioned between the air foil thrust bearing and the compressor impeller. A portion of the cool air is bypassed toward the generator and the impulse turbine blades from the cooler.

Abstract: A miniature hydro-power generation system includes an outer housing and an inner housing. The outer housing may receive a flow of liquid flowing in a first direction at a predetermined range of pressure. The flow of liquid may be decreased by a predetermined amount of pressure and increased by a predetermined amount of velocity and channeled to a hydro-generator included in the inner housing with an inlet nozzle. The flow of liquid may be channeled with the inlet nozzle to flow in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. Upon transfer of kinetic energy in the flow of liquid to the hydro-generator, the inner housing may rotate in the second direction. The flow of liquid may then be channeled back to the first direction and out of the housing with an outlet nozzle. The outlet nozzle configured to increase the pressure and decrease the velocity of the flow of liquid to minimized non-laminar flow characteristics.

Abstract: A magnet latch applying magnetic force for opening and closing the upper and lower cases is provided. The magnet latch includes a push button, a sliding block, a magnet, a magnetic hook, and an elastic member. To close the upper and lower cases, one moves the push button to slide the sliding block to one side. The magnetic hook is attracted by the magnet to move upwards. Once the magnetic hook attaches to the magnet, the push button is released and the sliding block moves toward and holds the magnetic hook, so as to achieve the purpose of magnetic latching. On the other hand, to open the upper case, one moves the push button to slide the sliding block to the other side, thereby opening up the upper case. Due to the weakened magnetic force and its own gravity, the magnetic hook returns back into the lower case.
