Abstract: A method for manufacturing a porous silicon carbide sintered body that includes manufacturing a silicon carbide molded body by using a raw material composition containing at least silicon carbide powder, silicon powder, and a binder. The method further includes carrying out a degreasing treatment on the silicon carbide molded body to manufacture a silicon carbide degreased body, and carrying out a firing treatment on the silicon carbide degreased body to manufacture a porous silicon carbide sintered body. The raw material composition has about 1 to about 3% by weight of the total amount of the silicon carbide powder and the silicon powder in a content of the silicon powder. And, the firing treatment is carried out at a temperature allowing silicon carbide powder to mutually form intergranular necks through counter diffusion.

The presently described embodiments implement a technique the produces accurate results with merely a small tail wag. To do so, the method ultimately establishes or determines a variety of parameters (e.g. lateral position of a sheet, skew, registration time, nominal sheet velocity, and correction velocity). These parameters are then used by the system to calculate a lateral velocity profile. In this regard, the calculated velocity profiles are applied to the wheels or nips, in the paper path. Abstract: A feeding device according to the present invention holds a pile of sheets of paper in it. Feed force so acts selectively on a specified region of the upper side of the held top sheet as to feed the held sheets one after one in a feed direction. The feeding device includes a flat press plate and a support. The press plate is not smaller in the feed direction and the cross directions perpendicular to the feed direction than the maximum size of the sheets which can be held in the main body. The press plate is not larger in the feed and cross directions than the inner size of the main body. The press plate has a first opening formed over the specified region. The press plate is supported vertically movably above the held sheets by the support.

Abstract: The present invention provides a sheet conveying apparatus, an image forming apparatus, and an image reading apparatus capable of stably correcting the delay or the advance of a sheet even if sheet conveying rollers such as a skew feeding correction roller and the like are decentered. The delay amount or the advance amount of the sheet being conveyed is detected by a deviation amount detection unit 53 as well as a control amount setting unit 55 sets the sheet conveying speed and the correction time of a sheet conveying roller 11 which corrects the delay or the advance of the sheet based on the delay amount or the advance amount of the sheet detected by the deviation amount detection unit 53. The control amount setting unit 55 sets the sheet conveying speed and the correction time of the sheet conveying roller 11 so that the delay or the advance of the sheet is corrected when the sheet conveying roller 11 rotates integer multiple.

Abstract: A pusher of a hockey game table includes a main body having an internal spherical space and a pushing knob having a spherical rotary member rotatably disposed in the spherical space of the main body. When holding the pushing knob and pushing the pusher, the pushing knob is angularly displaceable relative to the main body in the direction of the pushing force. Therefore, when pushing the pusher to play the hockey game, the player's wrist can be freely twisted to meet human body engineering.

Abstract: A side bet for the poker card game No Limit Texas Hold'em referred to as PokerSurance™ bet. This method allows players to place PokerSurance™ wagers at respective betting areas. The wager is available only for the player with the statistically favorite hand at a stage of the hand where additional cards are forthcoming. It also may be exercised only when a) one or more players are “all-in” on a hand, and b) when this player's PokerSurance™ wager is determined to be appropriate for the player and accepted by the Dealer. A PokerSurance™ side bet acts like an insurance policy on a given hand of poker as it protects the player with the statistically favorite hand from losing all of his/her money on a “bad beat.

Abstract: In a guts game variation, one or more players play against one another and a sole participant must beat two “dead man” hands to win. For example, each player bets the ante and is dealt a hand of two cards. Each player is then given the option to participate in the hand or withdraw. All participating hands are revealed by turning the cards face-up. The player with the highest hand collects the pot, and all other participating players must put into the pot an amount equal to the value of winner's pot. When only one participant has elected to remain in the hand, the participant must beat both “dead man” hands in order to win the pot. The game ends when a sole participant beats both “dead man” hands, whereupon the cards are reshuffled and re-dealt to commence a new round of play.

Abstract: The present invention provides a game for play between a player and a dealer. The player places a wager. Three player cards are distributed and arranged into a two-card player hand and a one-card player hand. A player total is calculated by summing the values of the cards in the two-card player hand. Three dealer cards are similarly distributed to the dealer, which the dealer arranges into a two-card dealer hand and a one-card dealer hand. A dealer total is then calculated by summing the values of the cards in the two-card dealer hand. A payout is awarded to the player based on the wager when the player total exceeds the dealer total and the one-card player hand has a higher value than the one-card dealer hand. Preferably, the cards are arranged such that neither the player total nor the dealer total exceeds twenty-one.
