Abstract: A stairway with a finished skirt/fascia board is formed using parallel stringers and tread/riser support brackets spaced and aligned along the stringers. The brackets are temporarily and pivotally attached to stringers and the stringers are moved parallel to and relative to each other to orient the stringers for the slope of the stairway. The pivotal attachment of the brackets to one of the stringers and the unattached stringer is moved into contact with the other stringer at mating faces. The brackets are them permanently attached to the parallel stringers. The mating faces of the stringers form a finished skirt/fascia board for the stairway. Several variations in contoured faces, including tongue and groove contours, for the mating surfaces provide for a smooth and clean looking skirt/fascia board on a finished stairway.

Abstract: An apparatus for the production of film tube, which can be filled with liquid, viscous or granular filling material, from a film strip. The apparatus comprises: a filling pipe connectable to a filling machine for the filling material, a shaping device surrounding the filling pipe for shaping the film strip into a film tube, a sealing device arranged downstream of the shaping device in the filling ejection direction for sealing longitudinal edges of the film strip, which are adjacent after the shaping operation, to form a film tube, an advance drive for the film tube, a writing device arranged upstream of the shaping device in the filling ejection direction for applying printed markings to the film strip, a first reading device arranged downstream of the shaping device in the filling ejection direction and a second reading device) arranged upstream of the shaping device in the filling ejection direction for reading printed markings applied to the film strip.

Abstract: A packaging system utilizes two sides of a loading carousel, which reduces both the height and footprint of the packaging system. Mass and inertia are also reduced, allowing higher operational speeds. The loading carousel receives opened cartons on a first side and lowers them over product groups on a second side.

Abstract: A recycling method whereby a plastic bag or other recyclable item that satisfies applicable manufacturing specifications and is part of a recycling program is marked with a logo and a recycling bag that is part of the same recycling program is marked with a matching logo. Consumers discard plastic bags or the other recyclable items bearing the logo by depositing them in recycling bags bearing the matching logo. The filled recycling bags are subsequently collected for recycling. The system enables consumers to identify qualifying plastic bags and other qualifying recyclables instantaneously and reliably and provides a simple and easily learnable method for their disposal. The system also keeps qualifying plastic bags and other qualifying recyclables segregated from the rest of the waste and recycling streams and protects them from becoming contaminated.

Abstract: A plate-shaped filter insert for, in particular, a gas filter with a seal which projects outward on a first of two opposite plate surfaces should be simple and inexpensive to produce with good durability. For this purpose, such a filter insert has the following features: —the filter material (1) is designed as a web material folded in a zigzag shape, each of whose folds on the top side are sealed by a first sealant strip (2), —the first sealant strips (2) each project bent outward at one of the two opposite upper plate sides formed by the backs of the folds, —at the end folds lying in longitudinal direction of the web material, a second sealant strip (3) running transverse to this longitudinal direction is attached, —the second sealant strips (3) are each bonded tightly to the first sealant strips (2), —a circumferential sealant material (4) is applied to the first and second sealant strips (2, 3) bonded tightly to one another.

Abstract: Vehicles, in particular self-propelled agricultural harvesting machines such as forage harvesters or combine harvesters designed to pick up and process crops, include transfer devices that transfer all of the harvested crop material to a hauling vehicle or an attached hauling container. The discharge device is equipped with a control device for performing automatic or manual adjustments, and the self-propelled agricultural harvesting machine is equipped with a navigation system for determining the positions of the vehicles involved. To transfer the crop material to the hauling vehicle without loss, the crop discharge flow is directed only to a defined permissible tolerance region on the hauling container. The tolerance region is located within the hauling container contour and is bounded by edge zones, which are “keep-out” zones for the transfer.

Abstract: A hydraulic cutter device incorporates a rotatable base including a plurality of spaced cutter teeth. A protective shield covers at least a portion of the base. A fluid cooler is located adjacent the protective shield, and defines a window for movement of ambient air from a relatively high-pressure area upstream of the fluid cooler to a relatively low-pressure area downstream of the fluid cooler. A hydraulic motor is adapted for rotating the base, and includes a plurality of hydraulic lines communicating with the fluid cooler. Rotation of the base creates a pressure reduction downstream of the fluid cooler causing ambient air flow into and through the fluid cooler to cool fluid moving into and from the hydraulic motor.
