Abstract: A system and method for determining a fluid property for a fluid flowing in a pipe may include sensing baseline vibrations when test fluids with known values for a fluid property (e.g., fluid density or fluid viscosity) flow through the pipe, or computer modeling the baseline vibrations. The baseline vibrations are analyzed via cross-correlation and/or deconvolution to separate the fluid filled pipe's baseline combined structural response from excitation and base coupling effects. During field or other operations, sensors may take vibrational readings along the pipe when an operational fluid (e.g., drilling fluid) flows through the pipe. The operational vibrations may be analyzed via cross-correlation and/or deconvolution to separate the operational combined structural response of the fluid filled pipe from excitation and base coupling effects. The baseline and operational structural responses may compared.

Abstract: An inertial sensor includes an oscillator that is supported by an elastic supporting member such that the oscillator is floating relative to a base and the oscillator is displaceable along a single axis, and a displacement detection unit detecting a displacement of the oscillator. The oscillation of the oscillator is a simple harmonic motion along a Z axis. An X axis, a Y axis, and the Z axis, serving as reference axes of an oscillation coordinate system for the oscillator, are shifted to provide x, y, and z axes, serving as new reference axes. Position coordinates of the oscillator of the x, y, and z axes are determined in at least two points during one period of the oscillator. A difference vector (?x, ?y, ?z) is calculated on the basis of the determined position coordinates. An angular velocity or an acceleration is obtained using the difference vector.

Abstract: A rigid arm pendulum is combined with a helical device attached to the pendulum horizontal axle to provide a double reciprocating action. While the pendulum reciprocates in rotary fashion about the axle, describing successive arcs of less than 360 degrees, the axle simultaneously produces a reciprocating action about its longitudinal centerline. A pumping action is thereby developed in line with the longitudinal centerline of the axle. This pumping (linear reciprocating) action can be utilized for a variety of requirements, including a hydraulic pump and a system to drive an electric generator.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing metal nanoparticles, the method comprising the steps of: providing a solution of metal salt and a solution of a strong reducing agent with a standard reduction potential of ?0.23V or lower; and mixing the solutions by using a micro mixer without supplying additional heat energy from the exterior, while carrying out reduction of the metal. Metal nanoparticles obtained by the above method, and a micro mixer for preparing the metal nanoparticles are also disclosed. The method for preparing metal nanoparticles via the reduction of metal ions in a solution uses a strong reducing agent and a micro mixer. Therefore, it is possible to obtain metal nanoparticles having a particle size of 20 nm or more and a uniform shape and dimension without supplying additional heat energy from the exterior. Additionally, the method is amenable to a continuous process, and thus ensures cost-efficiency and stable product quality required for mass production.

The pull handle facilitates the opening of the lid and the base portion is configured to cover and optionally seal the lid opening. A sleeve portion is contained within the base portion and is configured to receive the flip-tab of a beverage can lid. The beverage can lid is opened by lifting the pull handle away from lid surface to cause a tab lip of the flip-tab to rotate towards the lid surface and act as a lever to punch out a swinging seal in the lid surface that is defined by a scored area. The pull handle further facilitates rotation of the base portion about the lid surface and into a covering position that covers the lid opening and keeps the can contents free from outside contaminants.

The ratchet wrench includes a bias assembly that biases the pawls apart to bias a first, selected pawl for a selected drive direction towards engagement with a ratchet gear, and that the biases the selected pawl into a concentric alignment with the ratchet gear. In this manner, non-ratcheting initial rotation of the pawl due to counter-rotation prior to the pawl camming out of engagement with the ratchet gear is eliminated, thus eliminating wasted motion and maximizing the available angular sweep for the wrench.
